Allegra Van Allen was beat up head to the bottom of her stiletto heels. Her black dress was torn and deep scratch's were marked all over. She had just gotten into a huge fight with a werewolf. Not just one, but two werewolves, one of which was only a pup. She was just doing her rounds of hunting for a human to feed off of, when the two attempted to ambushed her. Yes, they had attempted and failed, the older one was probably teaching the younger one how to fight. It was a full moon so they were both in their most powerful form. Despite that though Allegra had a solid century of fighting on both of them. She had one the fight, sending the two away in much worse shape than she was in. Allegra was basically fine, a few deep cuts but nothing that serious. But it was enough to make her exhausted, and in truth she was.
Allegra had walked out of the forest to a lake she was standing infront of. The moonlight shined of her white skin looking like she was glowing. She sighed and looked at the lakes black waters. She kicked off her black heels and the cool grass came between her toes. She had always love that feeling, it reminded her of home. After that she slipped off what was left of her dress. She stood in her bright pink underwear and bra for a couple seconds before she walked slowly into the lake. Each step into the inky water felt more and more relaxing. It stung at first but it was a good thing. When it came up to her neck she dived underwater and started to swim. Ever since she was a kid she had loved to swim, now that she was a vampire it became so much easier for her. Allegra could hold her breath for an extended period of time.
Once she became tired of swimming she laid of her back. Allegra floated in her back and gazed up at the stars. They were absolutely stunning, when was the last time she looked at them? At least 50 years she had thought, she was way to preoccupied. They looked the same as always, while the world she knew changed around her the stars had ceased to change. She felt ashamed, very very ashamed. What had she become? She had let the material life and social life just consume her.
At that moment she heard footsteps approach, even underwater. which meant either they wanted to be heard, or they didn't know she was there. Either way she was on alert. She disappeared under water and headed for the shore. She was sure the werewolves had not tracked her, why would they. She was surly in better state than they were and she still could easily kill them. But she still didn't know, and didn't want to take a chance. Allegra cautiously made her way to the surface, she was about stomach deep in water when she got up. She looked around warily to where the intruder was.

It was quiet tonight. Or at least that was what it would appear to be on the surface. The fallen angel knew better than to assume these woods were all calm and peacefulness. Not with the sort of creatures that roamed through the trees here. He should know after all seeing as he was one of those said creatures. Not as openly dangerous as a werewolf or vampire and certainly not armed with a spell or other trickery as a witch or faerie might have been but he could quite easily hold his own here against anyone he might happen to cross paths with that was for sure. Not that he was actively searching for anyone that evening. No, his reasoning for walking this forest had nothing to do with searching for any sort of company and everything to do with him simply enjoying a cool summer night away from the smothering atmosphere that was the city.
Some might say his choice of getaway was slightly foolish considering the fact that these woods were well known for not being one of the safest of places, for creatures and humans alike. An active hunting ground for vamps and werewolves alike and also boasting a slew of herbs that would most certainly draw any number of witches and warlocks. And of course there was always the threat of hunters. The only humans who legitimately posed a threat to all supernatural beings. Add to all of that the fact that he was aligned to the light and there would certainly be reason for one to scratch their head at his decision to so casually roam the forest.
Though holding a healthy amount of respect for any and all possible threats this place might have imposed upon him, Ryden held little, if any, fear towards the place or its inhabitants. Call it the perk of knowing you couldn't be killed save by one of your own kind or perhaps just plain ballsiness. Either way the t-shirt and jean clad angel gave off a very relaxed persona as he sauntered slowly through the trees, not trying to conceal his presence in the least. Anyone who might have been watching him from the shadows may have taken his actions as carelessness but that was far from the truth. Every snapping twig or veiled movement he caught in that keen, quick gaze of his, over two centuries of experience in such practice taking over quite effortlessly.
As such he'd become well aware of the vampire's presence even before she would have known he was nearby. The faintly lingering smell of blood was the first thing that had tipped him off that he wasn't alone that night. Fresh from a hunt perhaps? His curiosity piqued, the angel kept to the same course he'd been walking, hands resting casually in the front pockets of his jeans. The bright moonlight served as something of a flashlight and gave him a good glimpse of the pale skinned creature, floating oh so serenely in the small lake that the trees opened up to about a thousand yards ahead of him. And as if on cue the creature suddenly ducked beneath the water, the action tipping off Ryden that they had become aware of his approach. Ah, yes had to love those super senses of theirs.
He stopped just within the shadows of of the trees, waiting as the vampire appeared closer to shore, on alert now and was given his first glimpse of those pale features. Her. A feeling of disgust and hatred settled over him at that moment, a look of cold disdain hardening his normally soft brown eyes. Knowing she would pinpoint his position in a few more seconds he stepped out into the moonlight, an eyebrow quirking upward at the half naked female. "Well, well, if it isn't my favorite bloodsucker," His smooth baritone was laced with flat sarcasm, not even trying to veil the contempt he held towards her. The last time he'd seen her he'd wanted to kill her and might have succeeded if circumstances had been different. Suffice it to say there was no love lost between the vampire and the fallen. "What's it been? Seventy years since our last little get together?"

"Well, well, if it isn't my favorite bloodsucker,"
When Allegra saw the fall angel from long ago her position relaxed. Though she hated him, she wouldnt give up any chance to mock him."Awh well god sent me my favorite damned one." Allegra smiled sweetly and flashed a smile. She loved to mock Ryden whatever way she could, they were the perfect enemies. "What no hug? Not even a little kiss?" Allegra giggled and twirled forward out of the water gracefully. She looked him over, still the same old Ryden. She couldn't deny that he was handsome, but that didn't make her like him any more. Their hatred went back decades and it still burned strong for eachother.
"What's it been? Seventy years since our last little get together?"
"Why yes about that long, seems like yesterday my dear alexander was dying in my arms.Allegra said remembering clearly the last time they had seen each other. She had dated a good friend of his, she wasn't in love with him, she couldn't when she was still mourning for her brother. He fell from some cliff while he was hiking and when he didn't come back Allegra and Ryden went to look for him. He was still alive and Ryden was begging her to change him. But Allegra couldn't, she couldn't deal with changing another person. Maybe if she had loved him better then she could of saved him. She was sad to see him go, and then ever since then there's been this bitter hatred between her and Ryden.
"Besides I did you favor, you wouldn't want your friend to turn into a monster? Death was better." Allegra said lightly, though in truth would probably wanted Alexander to be a vampire than have died. Any friend would have wanted that, Allegra couldn't deal with it though. She at that time was only 70 years old, she was young and recovering from her own problems. He didn't know what it was like to be a vampire under that kind of stress to change someone. She didnt want him to become vampire and suffer the same fate as her. She wish she could've died rather than be like this.
"You should have known better than anyone that I couldn't do it Allegra said softly, then spat "you should have brought another vampire." Long ago before all this happened Allegra and Ryden had been friends, for the most part. She talked to him about stuff that she couldn't talk with Alexander, like how to cope with watching people that you know die. Alexander was a tough loss for her but an even tougher loss for Ryden, that's why he blamed her without ever realizing her side of the situation. He tried to kill her, he failed obviously, only by a little because she was still young. If they fought today, which they might, then he wouldn't beat her as easily. She was much stronger now than before, although she was already battered from a previous fight so it'd be difficult.

Ah, yes so nice to know some people never changed. Those sickeningly sweet tones were oh so familiar as they entered the angel's ears, dripping with honey but bitter little morsels all the same. A tilt of his head was given as she stepped out of the water, a smirk the only response he gave in acknowledgement of her remarks thus far. He'd hug with a stake in hand and she'd kiss with her fangs out, a fact they both knew quite well which made her mockingly innocent words amusing at best. They'd missed each other so much, couldn't you tell?
Eyeing the vampire as she gave him a not so subtle once over, he didn't fail to notice the bruises and cuts scattered across her body, newly acquired it would seem by the looks of it too. He wasn't foolish enough to think it gave him any sort of advantage over her were this unexpected rendezvous to come to blows, however, it was interesting to say the least. The faintest tightening of his jaw muscles could be seen as she spoke ever so casually concerning the circumstances of their last meeting. My Alexander. "Funny, I seem to remember him telling me you had broken up with him that morning," That was how it had all started actually. Devastated and confused, Alexander had gone for a walk, to sort things in his head he'd told Ryden.
He never came back.
Ryden had enlisted Allegra's help in looking for him only because it was dark and two pairs of eyes were better than one, especially considering one of those said pairs belonged to a vampire. And in the end she'd been the one who'd first spotted his body, mangled and broken fifty feet below the edge of a cliff. The angel had known he never should have expected more from her that night but desperate times call for desperate measures and Alexander had been just barely clinging to life, a miracle in itself really. And she'd refused. He knew she was still young, still adapting to the change herself but she could have done it if she had really wanted to. If she'd truly cared for him.
Watching his friend die had been like watching Nadia die all over again, absolutely helpless to do anything to save him. He'd met Alexander a few years before the guy had started dating Allegra and like most humans the young man was blissfully oblivious to the presence of the supernatural. He'd reminded him of Joseph, his last charge as a guardian, and the two had become good friends. Probably one of the best Ryden had ever had in his long lifetime thus far. The day Alex had met Allegra was one the angel would always rue. It hadn't taken long for him to find out just what she was and he'd done his best to convince his friend that the girl wasn't the one for him. But as they say, love is blind and Alexander was completely infatuated with the young woman.
It wouldn't have been completely fair to say that Ryden had hated her from the beginning. Truthfully they had gotten along well enough, might have been what you could call friends at one point in time. That bridge had been burned a long time ago though. A cool glint flickered through his gaze at her cutting remark that she'd done him a favor by letting the young man die. "Yes, well, not everyone has as cold of a heart as you do, Allegra." It was true that being turned was hardly much better than dying, some might argue it was worse. But letting him die, slowly and in agony, it went against everything that made Ryden who he was, as a guardian and now as a fallen. Changing didn't make you a monster, it was a choice each individual made. He'd seen it plenty of times and had known creatures who'd gone against what they were expected to be, himself included.
For a brief moment her voice softened, almost but not quite suggesting some sort of regret before being quickly followed by a more bitter ending. "No, I should have brought a better friend," he returned flatly, crossing his arms in front of him. "Looks like you haven't changed much. Still killing anything and everything that crosses your path I imagine,"

"Funny, I seem to remember him telling me you had broken up with him that morning
Allegra remembered the morning she had broken up with him. It hurt her to do it, but it had to be done. Allegra turned bitter as to why she had to do it."Yeah, you know what's even funnier? I broke up with him because of you! Because you kept bitching to him to get rid of me telling me I'm not good for him and you know what ? You were right! So technically his death is your own fault! Allegra said laughing the whole time. It was true she finally saw that she wasnt good for him, he was human and she was a vampire. She wanted him to have a better life and he could have with a regular human girl. "and you know what's even more funnier? If you hadnt been bugging the shit out of him to dump me I wouldnt have dumped and I most likely would have stayed with him longer. IF I had stayed with him longer I would have gotten more attached to him and if I did end up breaking up with him and he did hurt himself severely I most likely would have saved him."
Allegra was heated that he was blaming for the death of Alexander when all and all it was his fault. Ryden should have stayed out of their relationship in the first place. He was the one who killed Alexander not her. The fallen angel was nothing but mistakes, no wonder god had kicked him out of heaven. Allegra couldn't even fathom how much she hated Ryden. She never felt such a deep hate in her life. She was also not a very hateful person, especially not when she was human. She was a peacemaker when she was human and shied away from anything that pertained to violence. Allegra was the one to solve problems with words and her brother solved it with actions. At the moment though she would rather solve this with fighting.
"Yes, well, not everyone has as cold of a heart as you do, Allegra."
Allegra shook her head back an forth at him. He was really ticking her off today, she didn't know if he could get not annoying but Allegra continued to smile sweetly at him. She could tell Ryden hated when she did that. His disgust was easy to read on his face, his dark eyes portraying pure hatred. If Allegra didnt bother with the sweet act routine her face would mirror his. Ryden was probably the only person she hated in this world, besides the vampires that killed her parents."Awh honey I don't have a heart," Allegra smiled and giggled at Ryden "But thanks for thinking I did." Allegra's heart no longer beat in her chest, so technically she didnt have one. But to her it was better to have no heart than a warm one, a warm one can still get hurt.
"No, I should have brought a better friend,"
Allegra shrugged her shoulders, not really caring about it now. By this point she was over Alexanders death, yes she did mourn for him but he didn't mean that much to her that she'd mourn for the rest of her life. Besides Allegra had to continue on, that's what Alexander wanted her to do. He was one of the purest most gentlest man she'd ever meet. To give him a life like hers would have just destroyed him. Allegra use to be like that when she was human and look what happened to her? He wouldnt last as a vampire, he probably would have committed suicide because of all the killing he would have done when he was a new born.
"Looks like you haven't changed much. Still killing anything and everything that crosses your path I imagine,"
Alleges flashed Ryden a smile, more like bared her teeth at him. ofcourse she hadn't killed like that since she was about 50 years old when she was in her depression stage. "Oh no not for a while, I stoped that long before I met you." Allegra said "You look the same as well, have you stopped trying to ask for gods forgiveness? Oh that's right you can't get close enough to talk to him, with the severed wings and shit. Does that still bother you? Not being able to fly, it must blow." Allegra let out a hard cold laugh, right at his face. She was standing casually, but she was ready to spring into action if he charged her.

Ryden was hardly surprised at the way she turned everything so neatly back upon him, laughing like she'd just told some amusing joke. My, my someone was a little defensive weren't they? "I never said it wasn't my fault," he returned evenly, an eyebrow quirking upwards at her, all the reaction her words brought from him. He blamed himself plenty for what had happened that night, for not having looked for him sooner or stayed with him period. There were always plenty of what ifs to ponder and he'd done plenty of that in the years since then trust me. "And just for the record, I never told him he should dump you. I said I didn't think you were the right for each other, for obvious reasons." Reasons poor Alexander had been ignorant of seeing as he had absolutely no clue that his girlfriend was not just some other human like him. "Twice, that's how much I 'bugged the shit' out of him about you,"
It was true he hadn't wanted Alexander to keep seeing Allegra but neither had he tried to run his friend's life. He wouldn't have counted himself a worthy friend if he hadn't spoken up about his concerns but as far as constantly nagging on him about his girlfriend that was not something the angel had done. And really he hadn't had any reason to hate the girl and as was previously noted they'd even been something along the lines of friends during her and Alex's time together.
The fallen was hardly bothered by her placement of blame if only because her opinion of him meant absolutely nothing. Not many people's did actually. When you had already lived as long as he had, seen what he had seen, it seemed to make petty things as someone's good opinion of you rather trivial to say the least. It was quite obvious she wasn't taking his words very well though, the look on her face betraying what he could only guess was barely contained rage. Knowing that was slightly amusing, wondering just how much longer she was going to keep up that fake little facade of hers, smiling and giggling like some high school cheerleader talking to the football team. "It only seemed fair to at least give you the benefit of the doubt," he returned, a smirk playing about his lips, matching her sarcasm with little effort.
Her lack of response save for a brief shrug was a one eighty from her first, rather extravagant reaction, but suited the moment nonetheless. As far as Ryden was concerned she was and always would be a heartless bitch, no matter how much she might try and argue otherwise. Was she the worst vampire he'd ever come across? Hardly. Did he still want her dead? No, not really, even though he wouldn't have felt any guilt in killing her back then.
Something that he supposed was meant to resemble a smile crossed her features, looking more like a sneer than a happy expression. Her rebuttal of his previous assumption brought another quirk of his eyebrow towards her but he remained quiet. A twitch of his jaw muscles could be seen as she continued talking, doing her very best it would seem to provoke him into a fight. Good luck darling. Her words most certainly stung, not so much on a personal level considering who had said them, but any reminder of what he'd become was and probably would always be painful to some degree. Still, it would take a lot more than that to get him to lash out. "I suppose so. But it's kind of like losing your heart, you get used to it,"
Tilting his head slightly, he gave her a pointed look. "Someone else hate your guts as much as I do?" The cuts and bruises scattered across her body certainly suggested as much.

"I never said it wasn't my fault,"
Allegra pressed her lips down in a straight line, it was true but he hadnt told her that did he? Ofcourse he felt remorse she remembered the day clearly when Alexander died. The agony on his face, she wished that it didn't have to come down to her but it did, and that's why he hated her. She couldn't change fate and if she were able to change things she wouldn't Alexander was meant to be dead. As harsh as the sounded her really did, in a perfect world without scary monsters they would have been able to do nothing by comfort him. Allegra did in fact comfort him, she held his hand the whole time and sung to him.
"And just for the record, I never told him he should dump you. I said I didn't think you were the right for each other, for obvious reasons."
Allegra nodded at his comment not bother to fight back, she steam was running out. She agreed with the obvious reasons which made her think more. If he hadnt said anything she probably would have been with him longer. But alas she would have figured they weren't right with each other and ended it anyways."I think you should have just left us alone and kept your comments to yourself." Allegra said simply, in a tired voice. Though Ryden had right to be worried for his friend, a more silent approach would have been better. If he just sat there quietly and watched out for him they wouldn't have been in a huge mess like this.
"Twice, that's how much I 'bugged the shit' out of him about you,"
Allegra once again shrugged her shoulders. "does it matter? It got to me and I started thinking. Besides you didn't have to say anything, just looking at you made it clear you didn't want us to be together." Allegra said simply. She was growing tired of the conversation between them. This had happened 70 damned years ago, did it really matter? Allegra wanted to move off the past and focus on the present. She was also growing tired of Ryden, why did he keep nagging on this? The fallen angel needed to work on his grudges for gods sake.
"It only seemed fair to at least give you the benefit of the doubt,"
Allegra couldn't help but smile at the comment, sometimes she actually enjoyed arguing with him, he made her laugh. "Oh your always to kind." Allegra said and stuck out her tongue. Her heart might not beat but she still had it. Allegra was actually a very loving person, she did everything for the good of the people now. She'd try explaining that to him but she thought he wouldn't care. It's amazing how people like him could be Stuck in such a hatred rut. Allegra was a positive person but when someone else hated her then she couldn't help but hate them back. Ryden put her such in a bad mood when he was like this to her.
"I suppose so. But it's kind of like losing your heart, you get used to it,"
By this time, exhaustion had taken over Allegra and she could care less of what he was saying. "Yeah, you do get use to it. But sometimes you have to be a cold hearted bitch in order to survive. If you let people crawl into small crevices in your heart then they can hurt you. In this world a hurt like that can cripple you and everything you worked so hard to build from yourself goes crumbling down." Allegra spoke with a weary smile. She them turned her back to him and sat down on the grass. That signaled that she didn't want a fight and somewhat trusted him. Allegra was to tired and hurt to care what he said or did. She wasn't looking for a fight, she didn't even want to hate him anymore."Someone else hate your guts as much as I do?"
Allegra smiled as she looked down at her body, cuts still open and hurting."An older wolf was teaching a younger wolf how to hunt." Allegera stated "But I'm done with you, done with hating you for something that happened so long ago. You can do whatever the hell you want. I know who I am and I've helped so many people. Allegra laid down on the grass and closed her eyes, if he were to attack then this would be the perfect chance. Without opening her eyes she patted the grass next to her."Come join me." Allegra said smiling genuily, she doubted he would come over, he'd most likely leave since she gave up the fight.

"I think you should have just left us alone and kept your comments to yourself."
The angel shrugged slightly at her remark, half agreeing with it but neither feeling as if he should apologize for it either. "Maybe so, but he asked for my opinion and I gave it to him," Alex hadn't exactly liked it of course but he hadn't freaked out on him after hearing it and Ryden knew the young man had taken the words and given them sincere thought. Love is a funny thing though, how it can make you blind to things you would normally see. Something he knew all to well himself and therefore had never really been able to blame Alex for even if he didn't agree with some of his friend's decisions concerning Allegra. And really, she wasn't that bad of a person and had treated Alex well until she'd broken things off.
A slight incline of his head was given in what was meant to be agreement in regards to her statement that he didn't have to say anything for her to know he didn't like that she was with Alex. It was true enough so there was no point in denying it. However, he hadn't intended it as personally as she might have taken it, not that he could blame her for doing so. It wouldn't have mattered who it was the boy was dating, he would have acted the same if he'd felt they weren't right for each other.
The slight smirk continued to play at his lips as she actually smiled at his good natured retort concerning the condition of her heart. Moments like this were rare between them though that hadn't always been the case. Surprisingly enough the two had actually been fairly decent to each other once upon a time and it was quite possibe the two might still have been so were it not for Alex's death. That little incident had driven something of a wedge between them that Ryden was quite certain would ever be removed. He'd hated her for a long time, that much was quite true, but though she probably wouldn't believe it looking back now it honestly had never really been aimed at her but more the situation period and his subsequent helplessness to do anything to save his friend. She'd just happened to be the unfortunate victim when he need someone to blame.
She was right too. Sometimes the only way to survive was to be a cold hearted bitch. Or in his case, a cold hearted bastard. Which he'd been called on occasion. Apparently if you weren't someone who felt the need to socialize on a regular basis and talk a mile a minute you were made of stone and had no feelings. Which was perfectly fine with him if they wanted to think that. He knew who he was and felt more than anyone would probably ever know really. There was tired note to her words now, a weariness that the fallen angel recognized all too well. Those brown eyes followed her movements as she settled down on the grass, the action revealing that she at least didn't expect him to attack her, or else just didn't care what he did. Not that it mattered. He hadn't approached her looking for a fight, even if they had done nothing but argue so far. They were two very imperfect beings after all but not quite so flawed as to resort to such actions as physically fighting.
Her response brought one eyebrow upward. "No doubt a move they are both regretting right about now," he returned lightly, though he was completely serious. She was not a vampire to trifle with by any stretch of the imagination and if her own cuts and bruises were any indication of what had gone down then he wouldn't have been surprised if one or both werewolves weren't dead. A slight tightening of his jaw muscles followed as she flipped the subject back to them and all that had been between them for so long. Surprisingly enough he was actually glad to hear her say those words. It was almost something of a relief honestly. The hate he'd felt towards her had always been there, at the back of his mind, like some sort of heavy weight. And now, well, it was like that weight had lifted.
A response didn't really seem warranted but when she patted the grass beside her as an invitation to join her he accept it without much hesitation. Choosing to sit rather than lie down as she was currently doing, he glanced down at her briefly before shifting his gaze back out to look across the body of water in front of them. "So you just passing through the city or is this where you live now?"
