It’s always a nightmare, it’s never a dream "You idiot, I told you not to- ugh, nevermind."
Another phone clattered onto the road, thrown by a long, pale arm with annoyance. Long fingers folded in on each other to clench her fist irritatingly and sapphire eyes rolled to the sky. The brunette waited, flanked by two other males before a car turned the corner of the old town, and the girl watched as her handphone was rolled over by the wheels of the car. There we go, another handset disappearing. Oh, there was no need to worry, there were plenty more back at home. All handphones were disposable anyway. Looking meaningfully at the two boys beside her, as though daring them to say something, she was met with a few blinks and innocent stares.
"I did not need an escort." she frowned, knitting both brown eyebrows together, French accent unintentionally clipping out. "Let alone two." The two men looked at each other, confused. Both were muscular and buff, but they were ridiculous and stupid at the same time. Regular thugs. The knowledge that they stored in their heads mostly consisted of guns and women and alcohol, and other shit Wren didn't bother to find out. The immortal waited patiently, she had all the time in the whole world and these two idiots looked as though they were going to take a whole day just to figure out what to say. The thugs blinked at each other for a few moments before one of them finally decided to respond to her remark. "We were ordered." he muttered, almost ineligible. "He said that downtown wasn't safe."
"Bullshit." Wren snorted immediately rolling her eyes. "You tell the client, no, Beckman, that he ain't getting no pot or spliff if he sends idiots to escort me to get the shit, ya hear me?" Not bothering to see nor hear their reactions, the girl stomped off down the sidewalk, boots clomping hard on the pavement. Raising her arms, she straightened the beanie on her head and stopped at the first bar she came to. Pushing the door with a hand, the girl stalked over to the bar and dumping a wad of cash at the table, barked to the bartender. "Cocktail. I don't care what kind, make the best you have. And beers, for these two idiots. You should be aware I'm not all out for being polite." The last part was added for the thugs and the bartender's own convenience. Wren liked being direct; it was good to teach an early lesson.
She was quite a sight, the brunette, a far cry from the elegant dresses she wore a long time ago. Messy blonde hair, beanies, bandanas, boots, jackets, all what the former Wren Lasseur would turn her nose up at. The pessimism that used to outline the girl had disappeared, and although she retained her former arrogance and bitterness towards life, she was much more confident and less bitchy about it than ever before. From a bitch of antiquity to a street-smart, sarcastic young woman who was well-known for conducting her own personal band of thieves! Well, not thieves, really, more like rebels and rogues. Her parents would be shocked, or rather, her father would be pleased that his daughter wasn't exactly the biggest snob around. It was the few hateful thoughts of her father and the love she had for her rebels were the main things that kept the immortal from being indifferent and numb to everything, and although she had nearly succumbed to an eternity of indifference, an epiphany had saved her.
"How long ya going to take with the drink?" she barked out loud, slamming a fist into the table while the thugs next to her cringed. She was small compared to them, but what a voice. Still the same, but not really bitchy anymore. On normal circumstances, she was underage, seventeen actually, but in reality, she was nearly twenty times the age. "Ring Beckman and tell him he's gotta wait a lil'. The spliff won't be delivered to his doorstep in thirty minutes like he asked. Next time he should come collect it himself." She patted her pocket. It was ten in the morning and she was out getting a drink at a bar after her marijuana nicking. School? Nah.
"Uh, won't be delivered?" one of the men asked.
"Just fucking do it, already!" Wren growled, turning over her shoulder to shoot him a glare before returning to the bar.

i promise this, promise this check this hand because im marvelous It was going to be an off day. She could already feel it as she turned onto her stomach in her creaky bed. Her whole body was tangled in the sheets and she wasn't even sure how'd she get out of them. Or if she wanted to. Eva had no idea what she had done what she had done last night. She had called her mother to apologize, but it ended in a huge argument. It had been five years since they had spoken. And to hear from your daughter that ran away at eighteen to live with her aunt that slept with Eva's husband, was kind of a slap in the face. It was a huge argument over the phone. And it didn't help she was in public and in a small Starbucks at night. The people in there stared at her while she screamed back and forth with her mother in Spanish. It was a long, long argument, but Evalisse finally decided it was time to hang up. She hadn't even realized she was crying until she felt a warm drop on her hand as she pushed hair away from her face. After that, all she remembered was going off to the abandoned gym to go for a swim. It was rumored to be a place mermaids hung out, so she figured she could cool down there. She was alone most of the night and then left to go back to her apartment. Evalisse figured she must have stopped by a bar on her way home because the hangover that she had was massive. Her whole body was aching from head to toe and she could feel the blood pulsing through her head. Eva sat up for a second, but instantly doubled over, falling right back into the pillow. That was when she felt someone stirring next to her. She jumped, not even expecting that. A boy with shaggy blonde hair sat up and smiled at her meekly. He had braces rowing his teeth and she tried to focus her eyes better. Oh god. She must have been on some crazy shit last night to try and pick him up. Evalisse quickly shot up, not even stopping to realize she was naked. She pointed to the door, motioning him to get out. She had only realized she was naked when his eyes began to travel down her body. Eva dived for a large pillow that was sitting neatly on a beanbag by the window and put it in front of her body." OUT! Get out you piece of good for nothing shit." He quickly shut his brace faced mouth and got up to begin dressing. Eva kept the pillow in front of her and slowly watched the boy leave. She hated the fact that he was slowly taking his time. Evalisse sighed and went straight to the bathtub, wanting to wash the dirty feeling away. When she was out she quickly just gathered any clothes she could find. In the end she picked some random graphic t-shirt, denim shorts, a black blazer, and knee high boots. It was a random and unorganized outfit, but she needed to get out of the house quick before she drove herself crazy. She went to precisely dry her hair with the blowdryer and ended up pushed her hair up in a bun, but brushed her bangs down. Eva grabbed some stud diamond earrings sitting on the counter from a few days ago and put them in her ears. She just settled with that. Eva grabbed her purse, a bottle of water (that had a straw built in of course) and she was out the door in no time. She didn't own a car so she just began walking. Evalisse still wasn't used to living on her own. She was still trying to get used to bills and not being driven around by others. Eva had no idea how her mother and aunt did it. She felt so stupid half the time. Eva turned the corner, taking a long drink from the water bottle. She was hoping her hangover would just slowly slip away, but that was never the case for her. She pulled her purse tighter to her body as she passed a group of guys who stared at her openly. Evalisse frowned and kept on walking. She turned another block and stopped. She knew she was turning into some alcoholic when she felt excitement boil through her chest at the sight of a bar. Evalisse figured adding alcohol to her system would automatically eliminate the hangover. And plus she was craving some gin. She would regret it later, but God she wanted some. Maybe just a little wouldn't hurt. It was still morning, so she wasn't so sure. Ah fuck it, she thought and hurriedly moved into the bar. It was pretty empty, despite a few regular drunks and a small woman with two large men arguing over something. She figured it wasn't her business so she ignored them and just made her way to the bar. She slid in front of the bartender, smiling sweetly. Eva reached into her purse to grab some money and she asked for two shots of gin. She waited patiently for her drink, and while doing that she began to easedrop a little on the little argument the girl and the two buff guys were having. Eva was pretty open minded, but it surprised her when the small girl began to speak of selling spliff. She just seemed to innocent. But many people said the same thing about Evalisse, so she shouldn't be so quick to judge. Eva stopped listening when her two shots were slid in front of her. She thanked the bartender and downed the first shot quickly. Eva scrunched up her face. She hated taking straight up gin shots. She usually asked for a gin and tonic or some type of gin mixed with 7up. Evalisse just wanted the alcohol to seep into her faster. She just wanted her head to stop hurting. She downed the other one, scrunching up her nose. It tasted so horrible to her by herself. It was like drinking rubbing alcohol or worse. Eva slid the two glasses away and began to rifel through her purse for maybe something to snack on really quick. She found a few sticks of gum but ignored it and just took a quick swig from her water. Eva could already feel the alcohol kicking in, she was beginning to feel a little light headed and she was loving it. The hammering had stopped and the beautiful light feeling showed up again whenever she was drunk or tipsy. Eva just asked for a gin and tonic, not really wanting to endure another rubbing alcohol taste. Eva put her own water bottle in her purse, pulling it tighter to her shoulder. She pulled off her blazer, shoving that in her bag too. She looked back over at the small girl who was still cussing at the two guys. Eva frowned, not really liking the looks of this girl. It was okay to be confident with yourself, but this girl seemed down right bitchy. Like she owned the world. Eva grabbed her gin and tonic which had slid in front of her and began playing with the lime absentmindedly. She grabbed the black straw and began to sip from it. Any type of water made her nervous. Or liquid for that matter. She used to take showers a lot, but had to switch to baths for the fact she sprouts a tail half the time. Eva remembered one time she had forgot and went to wash her hands after using the bathroom and she fell to the ground as her two legs disappeared and a tail came. She laughed at the thought and finally finished off her drink. She asked for two more shots, already knowing she was drunk. Eva began to move her body slightly, humming along to a tune she made up. She finished off those shots. Eva had noticed the girl who was arguing with the guy just simply sitting at the bar. Oh fuck. Eva couldn't even stop herself, her legs were already moving over to the girl." You know, you seem like a complete fucking bitch? You're not even that pretty you know. You're flat chested and pale." She paused, giggling at the fact her sentences were so slurred and stupid and the fact she was drunk her Spanish accent was really heard through it all. Eva set her bag on the counter top of the bar, putting her hands on her hips. She could already feeling herself getting into complete bitch mode. Evalisse just wanted to slap this girl for no reason. She just believed she was the shit, when honestly she didn't seem like much. The girl wasn't even a threat." And why don't you fucking smile for once?! You'll get worry lines, hun." She pursed her lips, widening her brown eyes slightly. Eva looked over to see the bartender laughing at her. She rolled her eyes, and looked back at the pale girl in front of her. Stupid girl, ruining her happy drunken mood. Even though Eva was always looking for a fight when drunk. It’s always a nightmare, it’s never a dream The Lasseurs were famous for their tempers, and Wren was one of the few that somehow had manage to inherit the full blast of it. It came in handy during situations that involved a lot of fights and verbal wars, as well as situations that included asking the bartender to speed it up. It was also excellent for intimidating others. However, it didn't work wonders when it came to socializing, and although a normal person would have tried to fix the problem a long time ago, Wren really couldn't be bothered. Her temper flared up whenever it wanted to flare up, and that was the way she wanted it to be. So, right now, it was no surprise that the girl was fuming- slightly- waiting for her drink and trying to ignore the sounds of scuffling that had broken out from the two thugs. She frowned, blocking out the sounds and sighed quietly. So many ridiculous things were happening; it hardly gave her a reason to crack a smile.
"Hey." she growled over her shoulder at the two idiots. "Quit it. I can hardly hear myself think, dammit." When the scuffle continued, she was tempted to get up and knock their heads together when the bartender slid her cocktail; a pink thing in front of her as well as two beer bottles. Shoving a wad of cash into the man's hand, Wren picked up her glass and sipped her cocktail, ignoring everything happening around her, including the sound of the door to the bar opening. She heard the bartender muttering to himself about 'drunk, hungover, people' and still frowning, turned to see who had entered the bar. It was a young woman, maybe twenty or so and oh goodness, did she look as though she had just woken up and was now experiencing a hangover. Shrugging, Wren went back to her drink, marveling at how the bartender managed to mix alcohol together to create a wonderful, pleasant taste. "How that beer goin'?" she smirked at the boys, raising her glass towards them in a mock toast. She wasn't expecting an answer as the both of them were downing the alcohol down like fishes. Smirking with amusement at the sight, Wren crossed her legs and tucked a stray lock of hair behind her ears in content. She was alright with spending her whole day here, without any disturbance.
A scraping sound was heard as someone pushed their seat back, and the next thing Wren knew, she was met with the hungover, aggressive face of the girl that had just walked in. The brunette raised an eyebrow and listened, bemused, as the girl began spitting insults at her, how she seemed like such a fucking bitch and all that. Lapis eyes locked onto the girl's and Wren slowly turned in her seat, so that she was sitting and facing her. The insults were nothing to her, it was getting old really, and really, didn't the girl have anything else to throw at her? Wren waited for her to finish, and on normal occasions, would have already gotten up and given the girl a good sock, but the immortal wanted to wait first, testing on how long she could control her temper. "Hold, lads." she said calmly to her entourage, who had already put down their beer bottles and were now clenching and cracking their fists. And just then, her calm demeanor snapped and her temper began flaring up. How dare this girl here had the nerve to simply walk in her and start insulting her just for the heck of it? Wren leaped from her seat violently, pushing the stool backwards and stalked up to the drunkard, her face a mask of aggressiveness. "Oh my, have you looked into the mirror lately?" she said sarcastically, folding her arms. "Because you look like a fucking old hag."
"And it's none of your fucking business on whether I smile or not, bitch." she added and spat onto the ground before lunging forward and shoving the girl backwards with inhuman strength.

i promise this, promise this check this hand because im marvelous Maybe it was a little childish and uncalled for to just corner this girl, but she had nothing else to do so it seemed kind of interesting. After Eva finished off her comment she gave a sweet smile. She almost let it falter when she got the look of the girl's face. Instantly she almost regretted picking a fight with her. Eva hadn't even stopped to think if this girl was human or not. She seemed pretty decent. Eva had gotten into a few scraps with some firetamers here and there and she didn't really enjoy that. Maybe this girl was just very intimidating and was only human. She was praying silently in her head that that state was true. Through all this quarreling within her head, she still kept a calm and steady face. Even if she was panicking and trying to find a way out, you always had to keep a poker face. Evalisse never let her true emotions show, in fear someone would take advantage of her if she was open with herself. She slightly jumped when the girl shot up, throwing the stool back. Eva narrowed her eyes slightly. Old hag? That was the best she could come up with. She laughed slightly and glanced behind the brunette, noticing those guys she was arguing with weren't just strangers to her. Evalisse had barely noticed she had called them away, but now she did. She kept her eyes on those men for a few seconds, they were still cracking their knuckles menacingly. She snapped her brown eyes back on the pale girl in front of her. The girl had turned completely to her. Eva could actually see her features more clearly. The girl was actually remarkably beautiful, but she couldn't take back the words that would already said. Eva was not going to back down from this fight. She gave the girl another once over and scowled. Evalisse was still trying to size her up. She was far more intimidating than she could have imagined. The girl actually wasn't that small up close. Or maybe it was just the fact her voice was so cold, it added to her appearance making her seem more bigger. If that makes any sense. It made a lot of sense to Eva. Eva was taller, from what she could see, and a lot thinner than her. So she wasn't even sure if she could call her small anymore. They were about the same height. So if it turned to fists, she was hoping it was a fair fight. Evalisse never liked people who didn't fight back. She wanted a challenge. And she already knew she asking more than she could bargain for with this girl. Eva could feel the annoyance and anger radiating off of this girl. She was nothing but negative energy. Evalisse was actually glad she wasn't as pissed off as she should be. She had been letting her anger get to her horribly. Eva was a completely different person when angry. And she put up as much of a fight she could. She flashed back briefly to the night she had drowned her ex-boyfriend. But that was in the comfort of her own territory. Water. Plus she was in her mermaid form, so of course she was going to act a little off. She was still confused about everything going on, even if she has been a mermaid for over eight or nine years. It was still very scary and new to her. She had found more mermaids like her, and had asked them questions, but they hadn't really told her much. So she just stuck with that horrible message. Eva snapped out of her thoughts and tried to focus on what was going on around her. She continued to look at the girl and scoffed at her little hag comment." Old hag? What kind of weak ass insult is that? Honestly." She laughed again, straightening up her body. Eva fidgeted with her shirt for a few seconds and let her hands fall back at her sides, but kept her hands ready in case it did turn physical. And soon enough it did. The girl had stepped much closer to her and spat on the ground briefly. Eva was about to comment on how unladylike that was, but she felt her body being shoved back. She had stumbled back quite a lot. Actually, it was more like she flew. Due to her drunkenness, she couldn't really catch her balance. So she felt herself crash into a cheap set of table and chairs. She cursed loudly, her whole body screaming in pain. But she ignored that and shot up almost instantly. The dumb bitch obviously wasn't human, because that had hurt like hell. She rubbed the spot where her hands had hit her. Eva could already feel her anger boiling. She began to curse in her own native tongue, hoping the girl wouldn't understand a word. Because she was speaking crazy nonsense. Eva quickly made her way back over to the girl, throwing back her fist as soon as her came to the girl and began swinging at her. She knew she was going to miss a few just because she wasn't in tip top shape, but Eva had herself some muscles so she was hoping it would do some damage. She was sure what this girl was, but she was hoping she could mess this girls face up. Eva had swung a very odd kind of punch and kind of lost her balance and felt herself stumbling sideways, knowing she was giving the girl a open shot just to hit her. Ugh, why did she pick a fight with this woman.?" You're lucky I'm drunk, bitch. Or I'd fuck you up badly."
