JUST LET ME SAY ONE THING i've had enough Damon was so focused on what he was saying and just staring at her that he didn't realize that the image of her was getting bigger. She was moving in closer. Again, without realizing it, he was leaning in toward her, meeting her about half way. It only took till the nose touching where he was fully aware of the situation. He blinked a couple of times, hesitating before coming in for the kill. She might have been taller than the average woman at about five six, but Damon was reaching to a full six one, not including the up and everywhere lion mane of hair. He did have to duck his head a little bit to reach hers, but that was normal. This was the girl he had been kissing for four years. It was almost strange not having to kiss like that. Everything was fitting right where it use to be. It didn't even matter that a moment ago he had been yelling at her for her breaking his heart.
The warm feeling flooded him the less physical space they had between them. Finally, he moved just a wee bit forward, feeling lips brush against each other, as if it was desperatly trying to tease him. Oh, why was this so? She was hesitant, but Damon wanted her more than ever now. The fire seemed to boil with the wanting. This hadn't be the first time the feeling had came. It came every time he had done this to Giselle, thought it was like the first time all over again. The only difference was that this time there was a small deja vu, almost fimiliarity of it. He had been through this before. He had been through this more times than he could count. Now here he was three or four years later, repeating the same thing. Over and over in his head he had said how he would't fall for the same trap iwth any woman. This wasn't just any woman though. This was Giselle.
They kissed. It was soft, sweet, so unlike most of the kisses he had shared. Most had been hungry, sloppy, and more wanting and foreplay than anything else. This was more real than ever. Damon knew it now that it was official. He still liked her. He wasn't going to go as far as love- as that might have scared him to death at that point- but there was defintally still the lingering floating feelings he got when he had been a freshman in high school, looking at her and trying to think of clever and witty words to tell her. What was even more amazing was what Damon felt through it. She wasn't only kissing him back, but she was pouring all the emotions into it. Damon wasn't really good at empathy powers if there was such thing, but he sensed it a little bit. Anyone could have felt it, but behind it was passion. The passion was growing harder by the second. The hand that was holding hers rose kept it but the other hand wandered to start at her waist and work their way up (and eventually back down, but he was going to start easy)
By the time she let go, he was still transfixed, feeling the same wanting he had for a girl after meeting her in the bar. Yeah, Damon was that thick and low, but after so many years of that being a nightly routine, it was hard to shake off. He was so use to it, that it felt so natural. A mischevious mix between that and his feelings for her, it was starting to send Damon in a romantic over drive where his mind didn't think. When something was bad for Damon, even though he thought it may kill him later, he still did it because of the rush it gave him at that moment. Knowing that the rush was going to be there for future happenings. Damon was horrible at knowing what was good for him. Giselle was good for him, but he didn't know it. He figured she was going to be playing the same stunt. Now that she knew what he was, why was she even bothering?
She broke and muttered something transfixed Damon couldn't hear, but she finally broke and went to leave. His green glazed druken eyes stared at her and acted on impulse, "Wait!" But now that he said something, it began to hit him. What was he 'waiting' her for? What did he have to say? That he enjoyed it? That he wanted more? God, no, that would just give Giselle the victory, woudln't it? At the same time, Damon couldn't think of anything else to say. With a shaking head and a confused hand, Giselle managed to do the impossible. Make Damon Ellis a loss for words. His mind searched for some words that fit together in a way that made sense. Anything. Spit it out. "Uh-" He began, repeating a couple of more times then asked, "What are we doing?" There, that was good. Now that a line was out, he felt more relaxed, as if he could expand on that. "I mean... who are we kidding ourselves?"
Damon no longer had a firey revenge and taunting look he was holding, though it may have been near the same information. Now his face was soft. The brick wall was officially crushed and swept away. Emotion like he hadn't heard in years was seeping and spreading like water on a blanket. The feeling was rushing inside of him, and he didn't know what to do. A part of him wanted to do what him and Giselle always use to do. Kiss and make up and leave the rest to whatever happened the next day. However, they wern't in high school anymore. They wern't the same people. Damon, though he thought he changed, really hadn't found a way to grow up. Giselle, more than likely, had changed quite a bit. Obviously right off the bat it was a bad idea. "We've both changed.... that... kiss..." He said, smiling with a crooked grin as he said kiss, but faded as he contiuned, "I'm not sure what to think about it. You're a wonderful girl Giselle, but so much has changed" Sure, that was part of his reasoning, but a lot of it was trying to keep his heart locked up all over again. There was no way he could get back with her. He didn't even want to like her again, but here he was!

Giselle half expected Damon to push her away or jerk back, asking her what the hell she was doing. But that was the completely opposite of what he had done. Damon kissed back. Hard. It was a little bit of pleasure, it to start out with, then it became full out passion streaming between the two of them. Energy, shocking pulses of pure lust and bliss. His warm hands moving carefully to around her waist as if to minimize the space between the two of them. She felt her entire body shift so that she was closer with him her curves fit perfectly against his body. When they broke away she could see how much he'd enjoyed it. More than just a little, a lot. All Giselle had ever wanted in the moment, to see him want her back. And he did, he really had to. You couldn't kiss back like that and not, right? He might have wanted her but did he still have feelings for her? What did that kiss even mean to him?
Hell. She hated the way she felt around Damon. She hated how he still gave her butterflies in her stomach or made her heart race. It was evident, impossible to ignore that she still had feelings for him. She tried to smother it, cover it, throw it in the back of her mind and try to ignore it. It was stupid move. In the end, Giselle ended up kissing him and pouring our all of her emotions. Bottling it all up inside of her, drove her right towards the edge. She should have gotten over him years ago! She should have moved on. But recovering from a relationship like that would take forever. He was her high school sweetheart. He still had such a great impact on her. She hated it. She wished she could get over him just as fast as others did.
When she tore herself away from him, placing distance between them, the female felt heat rise up to her cheeks. Her heart was slamming against her chest like a jackhammer. She mentally smacked herself for acting this way. So instead of facing the consequences of what she had done, she decided to leave, to run away from her problems. Just so she didn't have to face it. What goes around comes around. No matter how far you run, you can never truly escape. Everything catches up to you in the end. And when it does, it usually kicks your ass. She turned to leave but Damon's voice called out for her to wait. Giselle stopped and whipped around to face the former love of her life. She shot him a look that asked 'what?'. She patiently waited for Damon to spit out whatever he wanted to say. Instead, he just stood there, as if he was trying to figure out what to say or how to put what had happened.
Uh. What were they doing..? To state the obvious. They were yelling at each other and moment's ago, they were kissing -- which that was great. A sigh escaped her lips and she shook her head. "I'm not even sure.." She said, feeling hopeless, like her heart dropped right out. She felt disheartened. It wasn't that easy to fix everything like they used to. In the past, it was so simple to do so; just kiss and make up or dismiss the situation with a small smile. It would be gone just like that, but time had passed and they've changed. They've both changed. They weren't teenagers anymore, but instead, grown adults. Giselle grew and matured as a person. She had become more calm and collected. She had also grown more protective of herself, more guarded. But look at them now, still acting like little children and not solving this the 'adult' way. She nodded in agreement to his statement. They've both changed. "You're right." She stated no longer being stubborn, like she had been before.
While most people think it's one's brain that controls their actions, it's often their heart that gets the biggest workout. It can make one do the craziest of things. But it can also let them take a chance on new adventures. Because when they open their heart they can explore a world of love. And be pleasantly surprised by the people already in their life. But unfortunately one's hearts are very sensitive. And when they're broken, everything around them is shattered. Total eclipse of the heart. To revive a struggling relationship, there comes a point when they must stop protecting what was gone. They have to allow for what they truly need. Moving forward can mean reaching out, reaching back, or reaching balance. And while new journeys can start with a single step, they can end just as quickly with a single misstep.
The problem with fairy tales is that they set a girl up for disappointment. In real life, the Prince goes off with the wrong Princess. Or the spell wears off and two lovers realize they're better off as... well, whatever they are. Sometimes the best thing to do is just wrap your arms around each other one more time, then let go. As Damon started to talk, saying that he wasn't sure what to think of the kiss, she immediately understood. Giselle shook her head. "I don't think..." She paused. It was difficult to say but she was going to have to say it sooner or later. "we shouldn't be doing.." What were they doing any ways? What was even happening between the two of them? "This." She stated, glancing up at Damon.. She didn't want to go through with the whole rejection thing again. This was just like the whole break up repeating itself again. As much as she wanted to be with Damon again, Giselle didn't want to put herself out there anymore, out there to be hurt once again. To love was just a set up to hurt and to be hurt. Maybe it was better if they stayed friends. Maybe they had too much history together that they couldn't stay friends anymore. But all she knew was that they couldn't get back together. They just couldn't be together. They just couldn't. And she was sure Damon could agree on that, even if it hurt the both of them. It would be better. And they both knew it.

JUST LET ME SAY ONE THING i've had enough If Damon had just listened to her words, he would guess that she had no clue what was going between them. As if she didn't know her own feelings. However, since he knew her well and he also knew that he was feeling the exact same way, he knew that it was just hard to put into words. Every piece of his body was aching for her, bubbling with a feeling that he only had in high school. He only had it when he was with her. This couldn't be happening. Damon almost felt like breaking down, sadly enough. It just seemed with everything, something usefull would come with his life. During this time, he got a chance to see how low his life had became and he hated it. Oh god he just wanted Giselle back. Damon didn't know that all these feelings and such would go in the morning. He'd go back to the same arrogant Damon who thought he was best thing in the world, but at that moment, everything was weighing him down.
The only thing that was working against him was his mind. His mind was flashing back pained memories of the harsh breakup. How devistated the eighteen year old had been, slowly walking back to his room and just laying there awake, staring at the ceiling. His body had ached then too. There had been tightning in all of body, like he wanted to crawl into a little ball and stay there for the rest of his life. That was the only horrible mental pain he had ever experienced. It was something he vowed he'd never experiene again. Now here he was thinking about doing that all over gain. His mind was smart enough to say 'no Damon. Bad Damon. Here are some flash backs so that it can be imprinted into your mind' but no matter what he thought, it never changed how his insides lurched and turned. The kiss just made it even worst. Damon wished like hell he could put up his nice cool wall again. He felt safe and well guarded behind his brick wall that was now smothered into nothing.
If he wasn't in the mood he was in, he would have done more than smile when she said 'you're right'. He might have danced lighty teasing her and taking the words in just to make her laugh. Now all he could do is make an awkward half smile at her. For some reason, it didn't matter he was right anymore. He didn't want to be right. Damon wanted for her to say 'no, thats not what I want. Lets get back together' but both of them knew that it wasn't going to happen. She knew it. Just by looking at the pain in her eyes that easily mirrored Damon's. They both had been one of the best looking couples in the school. His tall handsome figure still like it was that day and with her long lucious hair and grey eyes flashing brightly at every soul that walked by. Honestly, if Damon had been a popular guy instead of a druggie, he could have won prom kind and stood by her when she won prom queen. But alas. Nothing was more now. They were just memories.
Should. That was the difference. Should be doing this and want to do this was the thing that Damon had been debating about deep within his head. "The problem is Gissy," He said, using an old nickname he created for her when he teased about can't remembering names more than five letters for his life, "We shouldn't. But... We could." We want he thought in his head, looking at her like she would be able to read his mind, "We don't have to date to look at each other." He said, trying to build the emotionless barrier, but failing and ending up spilling even more emotion into his voice than he intended. "We're going to be seeing each other. We can't avoid it. Could we try..." and even as he said it out loud, he knew how insane it sounded, "Just friends." It sounded insane, but it could work. It may have been the only option they had at this point besides ignoring each other. Both of them had made it clear that wasn't what they wanted to do. Damon walked toward her once again, taking her hand and this time, reaching it to his face and kissed it softly. "I should go." He whispered, putting her hand against his cheek, wanting to feel it's cool touch one last time.
OOC: -.- goodness, I am SO sorry for this... Damon's beating only worked for a while But should we do one more post after this? Then wander into the what if board?

Pain lurched throughout his body when Damon referred to her as her old nickname; Gissy. He was the only one who had called her that. It was her own special little nickname, given to her, by, yours true;e. the notorious Damon Ellis. It hurt hearing that single word tumble right out of his mouth. It been too long since she heard him call her that. It just brought up more memories when he said that. Memories of then being together and happy, but not this time. They weren't even together. They weren't even happy or jolly or glad. Oh how she wanted to get back together with him. Things would be better. But she just couldn't. Giselle forced her feelings aside, just pushing them away from her.
The moment she said, they shouldn't. Damon insisted that they could. They wanted to get back together. He didn't need to voice to out loud for her to realize what he wanted to say. What he had kept out. It was that strange connection they always had, like a telepathic connection, was some connection they had, where they didn't have to voice out what they truly wanted to say. They just knew. In response, she shook her head, disagreeing with him. It wouldn't be good if they got back together as a couple. They've changed. And according to Damon, to much. They've changed too much that they couldn't adjust to it.
Damon was right, since she was back in town. They were both going to keep running into each other. It was inevitable. She knew she was going to see him again. They couldn't just ignore each other, one or the other would explode from trying to keep themselves down with so such self control. And it would hurt just trying to pretend they didn't know each other. That they didn't even have a history. But just...friends? Friends. Giselle nodded at his question, if they could try just being friends. "We could try." She promised. They could try and try to put as much effort into it to make it work out. They could try, but the real question struck her; would it work? Would they be able to push all their feelings aside and make it work out as friends? Did they have too much as a history to be friends? She had heard stories of couple breaking up, promising to be friends but it never worked. She wished with all her might that them just being friends would work out. She hoped it will.
His warm lips gently touched her cold hands, sending shivers down her back. He took her hand and placed it on his cheek. She could feel his warmth under his fingertips. How she missed his touch. Gently, she caressed his cheek. She gulped when the firetamer insisted that he should do, instead of protesting, the female gave a small nod in agreement. "Goodbye, Damon." She said, weakly and quietly. She felt something deep inside of he that hurt. Badly. There was a pang of something, something she could really distinguish. Although she was out in the open, breathing normally, she felt like something was suffocating her, strangling her. It felt like the whole break up was happening again. Giselle remembered how it felt to lay there in her bed, curled up in a ball, crying like no other. There was a pain n her chest. Heartache. She locked herself in her room for days, not wanting to go out in the world and face new problems and troubles. Except now, she couldn't just break down and cry. She couldn't show Damon how much this was going to affect her. Never again, did she want to feel this way.
Right when he stated that he should go, the female wanted to call out for him to stay. To stay with her. But it took so much self control to stop herself from moving towards him and stay put where she was. Instead, she turned around the headed towards the opposite direction, separating herself from it. The duo were taking two separate routes. It would be better for the both of them. She glanced over her shoulder to see his figure slowing disappearing, growing fainter and fainter. Giselle wished Damon would turn around one more time to glance over at her. And if he did, he would run straight to him, but he didn't. She didn't know whether to feel disheartened or relieved. It hurt so damn much to walk away from him. It took so much strength muster up just to say those simple words. That line was such a simple line to say, but once it come out of her mouth. She was a strong girl, but this hurt. A lot. Once those words were out, there was no way she could take it back. No matter how much she wanted it. Really, she didn't expect for a night like this to end...the way it ended. Part of her wished she could go back in the past and do it all over, but another apart knew it was better the way it was left to be. Giselle felt something inside of her die out and something shatter. She losing something no one knew she had to begin with...her heart.
