To be perfectly honest, when she and Cade flew back here, she hadn't wanted to come back. She didn't want to return to this place, she had just wanted to...stay in Italy, the wonderful, gorgeous Italy that she had fallen in love with, much like she had fallen in love with Cade. So hard too. Grinning, feeling like a school girl, the blonde paused as she had been lounging in her apartment, Cade was out visiting Owen who had called him asking for some help. She didn't mind, Cade had his friends as she had her own. Though her mind traveled back to the potion that Antonia had given her. There had been...an incident with someone else turning mortal, though Antonia knew this one worked just fine, since she had given it to someone a decade ago and they still looked just the same. The potion was stowed away, even though she had made her decision, she had wanted to wait till they at least got back here and everything. Now though, she felt an itch to do something. Grabbing her clutch and her cell phone, she quickly scribbled a note for Cade, her lover, her fiance that she was heading to the abandoned gym for a few. Not to work out, no - she did enough of that just by swimming. Her red skirt moved as she did, heading in the direction of the gym, tossing her hair over her shoulder. It was a pretty popular place for supernaturals, though she usually didn't need to worry about werewolves or vampires there, especially in the water. Worst case she just got them into a trance with a song real quick before she jumped out of the water and booked it out of there. Shivering slightly, the blonde then brushed that off, and pressed on.
She was wearing a bikini top and bottom, a trick she'd learned over the years was that she could wear her bottom and it would be there when her legs returned. Thank you, it must be a perk of being a full-blooded mermaid or something. Either way she was grateful, and stumbling into the gym, green eyes glanced around quickly. No one here it seemed. Wonderful. Heading towards the locker rooms, she smiled softly upon entering, this was one part the other mermaids kept clean as well. Just enabling them to stash their things back here. She didn't. She didn't like the idea of her things not being with her. Getting out of her blouse, shoes and skirt into her white bikini, the blonde then grabbed her towel and water proof bag, and re-entered the pool area, tying her hair into a quick, low ponytail before standing at the middle part on the side of the pool, hesitating. It was so clear, though with no lights in the water, just a bit on the surface due to the later afternoon sun, she knew she could remain under there and be perfectly fine - except for her bag. Shrugging, she then got down on the side, sitting on the edge, glanced around swiftly, before sliding in. Chills ran up her spine as she did so, then her legs molded together into her purple-blue with a dash of green fins. It was longer than her legs, and pure muscle. With no knee joints to restrict her movements, her fin had the ability to move backwards and sideways if she had to as well.
Sliding easily into the water, her head remained above it as she sighed, grinning. They had their own little magic with the water, and the mermaids added just some...extra ingredients to the water once in awhile, ones to just help themselves relax, which was obviously what had happened earlier that day, since she still felt the effects too. Giggling softly, she then reached up and pulled her towel over her clothing and bag, before gliding around the water, enjoying the freedom she had. There was the possibility of her going to the ocean, but that always ran the chance - especially with a huge party she saw going on tonight, that she'd get caught. Here, she only needed to worry about the possibility of another supernatural. She tensed and dove into a corner in the pool in the shadows, her head above the water as she had heard someone enter. Remaining still, her heart beating loudly in her chest, she looked around for the person who had entered, hoping it was just another supernatural not intent on killing someone tonight. Or else. Green eyes widened slightly, though narrowed as she spotted a figure, which seemed to have spotted her, and headed this way. Crap.

Earlier that day, while Aaron was out of the house, he was strolling down the street on his motorcycle and noticed something peculiar. He immediately became nervous and a mellow state of shock engulfed his body. It was debilitating to the point where had to pull over immediately in order to avoid crashing. It was very rare for Aaron to feel this way, but it was for a good reason. The deep purr of the engine rumbled to a stop as he parked the motorcycle. Unstrapping and removing his glossy black helmet, he stood there for a moment, staring off into the nearby distance at a boisterous crowd that was gathered for a festival announcement. One person in particular that his eyes never strayed from, was a dark haired adolescent with hazel eyes.. that closely resembled his little brother.
He just kept staring.. his head was spinning and he felt dizzy, almost as if the air had been sucked out of his lungs and he couldn't inhale. Leaning down, he propped his hands on his knees and forced himself to relax, his head dangling down as he took several slow, deep breaths. Memories of his past flooded his mind and riddled his body with unease, yet in this state he was still pushing forward, torn against the two parts of himself. The other part of him tingled with bliss and excitement, having his eyes pleased. If it was his brother, he could avoid him and not have to explain. He could just simply walk away like nothing happened. Or he could finally face him and deal with a piece of his past. Even if his brother outright rejected him, he would still feel like a better man after attempting to connect and explain what happened. With confidence regained, he stood up straight, his usual posture returning as he lured his composure into existence again. It was now or never.
He made his way through the crowd and reached out to the guy to touch his shoulder briefly in a certain manner, something he had done frequently with his younger sibling when they were growing up. The man's attention averted to Aaron, and before their eyes met he could tell in the way he moved that something didn't match up correctly, and when he looked upon his face, he knew it wasn't Colm, just a guy that very closely resembled him. It was unnerving in a way. He apologized for mistaking him for someone else and then went on his way back home after later picking up some food, but the feelings never subsided. A part of him was relived, but another part of him was in turmoil, like soft cheese on a sharp grater.
All in all, he had to get away from home. Go out and do something to get his mind off things, be in an unfamiliar place and take in the surroundings. It was then that he came to the Old Gym, even though he wasn't intending to go there in the first place, a twist of unexpected events had led him there. For instance, the first location he was planning on visiting was temporarily closed, and then the second place had mysteriously went out of business. Seeing as the Old Gym wasn't nestled too far from where he was, he naturally went to investigate it. It was quiet and uncrowded, the ideal place to brood and mull things over. With his luck however, he would probably find something interesting.
Sure enough, he did. The soft, almost angelic giggling of a woman tickled his ears not long before he entered the place, his dark eyes alert and searching for the source of the sound. The smooth movement of water caught his eyes, and a feminine form stirring briefly within it. He could hear the pound of her heart, the blood whooshing through her arteries, a sound that Aaron found soothing. He stood only feet from the pool, which was rather expansive, peering over the edge at the figure in the sparkling water for a moment, just calmly observing, in a way a feline would watch a fish out of reach.
The pool itself was too tempting to not take a dip, seeing as it was completely spotless and sparkling like diamonds. He meandered around the edge of it, stopping at the shallowest part to kneel down and then sit, nonchalantly taking off his socks and shoes. Something about him was soothing and approachable, the way he moved was unnaturally fluid and elegant, like a rare and mysterious creature not from this earth. He pushed his belongings back to ensure they would stay dry and put his socks in his shoes, removing his wallet and keys from one of his pant's pockets to do the same. Not wanting to make the stranger feel uncomfortable, he limited the amount of clothing he removed from himself, keeping his jeans on. Leaning over, his shirt soon slid off over his head, and after that he dipped his legs into the water to his knees. The water itself was just the right temperature for his liking. With a heavy, silent sigh, he leaned back and propped himself up on his elbows, allowing his head to hang back limply with his eyes closed, exposing his neck fully, which was a rather vulnerable position for him to be in, but he was confident he could handle himself if it was needed.

Diving beneath the surface, the blonde was vividly aware of her surroundings in the pool, and the different things every mermaid who had swum here before, had brought and left. Pieces of the ocean, large chunks of coral rested in the deep end now, making a little makeshift coral reef. Personally she liked it - a lot. Emerald eyes narrowed in on something, and she tilted her head, before her tail lazily flicked to propel herself towards the shiny object beneath the waves. Though suddenly, she whirled around, eyes wide when something, or someone disturbed the water. Frowning, her defense mechanism kicked in and she felt her tail begin to really blend in the with the background of the water, before she then felt her skin begin to tint slightly to blend with the water. Relieved then, she surfaced slightly, only her eyes above the water as she noticed the male, with his pants on still - fortunately - with his feet in the water, and his head back, revealing his neck. Obviously he was comfortable with first poking his feet into water where mermaids were known to swim, and some being quite devious, but also lying his head back, showing off his neck for any other vampire. Though of course she had noticed his movements, made her think of Cade, how eloquent and how simple their movements seemed, so...fluid, like the water in which she knew her mom made her home in. Tilting her head slightly, as her defense mechanism disappeared, he didn't seem to be a threat, though she did want to know what he was exactly, she glided through the water silently towards him.
Upon approaching him, she swerved off to his left, to come up on his right side and then placed both her arms on the side of the pool, holding her upper half outside of the water, her tail going back and forth like a fish's would behind her, "You know, I'm surprised you actually came in like that, sticking your feet into the waters, and holding out your neck."
She gave him a gentle grin before offering her right hand in a manner of formality - might as well, it couldn't hurt, could it? "I'm Sara, by the way." She wasn't self-conscious of meeting someone here and it wasn't like she could get out of the pool without him seeing her, besides getting out of the pool proved to always be harder than it was to get into the pool. Most of the time she just climbed up the ladder with her arm strength and lied out on her towel while she waited for herself to dry. But right now she just stayed in the water and after shaking his hand, she gestured, "You can swim if you want, I won't bite...too hard." she flashed a grin before brushing back her matted hair from being wet before she then mused, "What brings you here tonight?" [/blockquote][/blockquote] TAG: anyone <3 WORDS: enough MUSE: crickets -.- CLOTHING: eh, white bikini top, and her fin <3 oh, her clothes before she changed hereNOTES: D: i'm sorry it sucked, better next time, promise <33 CREDIT: TILLY of caution 2.0.

This was just what he needed, a secluded place to less his stress wane. Like the pool, the air in the room was surprisingly warm, coaxing his body into a very relaxed state. It was possible whatever was in the water was influencing him, or it was just simply the heat. He couldn't place why exactly he was feeling the way he was. It was strange how his mood changed so suddenly, considering the moderate level of tension he was experiencing when he first arrived.
With the water gently stirring around his lower legs, he lifted his head to allow his eyes to skim over its smooth, rippling surface where a figure beneath advanced towards him. As it peaked above the water, he realized it was beautiful woman, with light hair and bright blue eyes. His dark brown eyes watched her inquisitively, head tilting to the side a few degrees as he listened to her say that she was surprised that he came in like he had, putting his feet in the water with his neck exposed. "Why's that?"He grinned lazily, his eyes blinking slowly, though not to the point where he appeared sleepy. The well defined muscles of his torso and arms flexed as he sat up now, extending his hand to grasp and shake hers momentarily. His grip was quite strong and firm, but gentle at the same instance, much like his temperament. "Aaron. Nice to meet you Sara." He glanced over to his shirt, feeling slightly exposed now that she mentioned it. Although, the air was warm and relatively humid; certainly a good reason for removing the clothing. "Oh is that so? .. Have I met you before?" He chuckled at her playful comment, trying to not let his mind wander as he joked with her. "I would.. but I'm wearing jeans. Not exactly a fun thing to drag around wet on my way home." He said, making a funny face like he had swallowed something bitter, a large grin following afterwards. He did want to swim, but he wasn't prepared for it, and wasn't about to bring up the topic of taking off his pants. She was a lady, not another guy... he did have some manners around women, at least the polite ones.
With a shrug, his eyes drifting along the wall behind her, up towards the ceiling."Killing time mostly. Initially I was aiming for a few other locations, but that didn't work out, so I came to investigate this place instead.." Leaning down towards the water, he let his arms become partially submerged, letting them soak as well. "What about you? .. You must come here often, you seem in your element." Did he know she was a a mermaid? Could he see her tail? Maybe he had already caught on. If he had, she wouldn't be able to tell anyway. When he wanted to, he was exceptional at hiding his true feelings and intentions.

Shifting her arms on the side of the pool, the blonde arched an eyebrow towards the dark-haired, dark-skinned male when he turned his attention to her about her statement on being relaxed. She drew her arms off the side, hovering in the water with some lazy flicks of her tail, "Because, a lot of mermaids lure men into the water, supernatural and human alike. Plus..vampires would just take one look at your revealed neck.."
she paused, "Unless of course...well it all depends on who you are." she grinned lightly, that way if he happened not to be supernatural he might just think her crazy and leave, though if he was, he would hopefully get it. She didn't feel in the mood to spell everything out. Green eyes blinked as their hands met, and then he gave her his name. Aaron. Interesting name, not as interesting as Caden, but it was a strong name. Definitely suited him. Sara grinned politely back, "Pleasure, Aaron." she drew her hand back then, putting her hands back and forth in the water to make it seem as if she were swimming with a pair of legs instead of her powerful fin, with no bones like a fish's tail, just strong muscles, muscles she could use to knock wind out of someone if she had to. Nibbling her bottom lip, she then laughed lightly, feeling her mermaid side begin to tell her to turn her voice on Aaron, to toy with him, make him do something she wanted him to do. Met him before? she wasn't so sure, "I'm not sure, I mean...I'd like to think I'm pretty darn good with faces and names." she winked playfully, toying with her hair lazily before then messing with the water gently, relishing the feeling she got of it flowing over her skin. She had always loved the water, even before she knew she was a mermaid, it just...called to her. Like her second home, and she had always felt comfortable in it. Like she could live there. Well - she could, but the land was her home, plus it was where Cade was, and all her friends. She couldn't very well leave her entire life behind just because she wanted to be a mermaid constantly. She could do that through baths, or this pool, or even the ocean right near Manuka. So no swimming for him. No matter, it wasn't like Sara would drag him in with his clothes on or anything. She wouldn't do that, it wasn't worth it, plus though she'd have the advantage in the water if it came to a fight, she knew she'd get her butt handed to her. Besides, she wouldn't fight if she could avoid it. Fighting was mundane, idiotic. Running a hand through her hair shortly, she nodded in silent agreement. She understood, so that also meant he probably hadn't brought anything along, probably not having been expecting to run into a mermaid while he was here. It was a supernatural gym after all, only the rare Hunters came through here, the only sign to show she was here if she went under water would be a towel, which was tucked underneath a bench so only at certain points would be it seen. Returning to the side of the pool then, pulling herself up out of the water slightly, only up to where she felt her scales leave the water briefly, Sara mused, "Well, I think you've come to the right place to kill time. Plenty to do if you look." she shrugged gently, drumming her nails on the side before the blonde then heard him ask her the same thing. Pursing her lips thoughtfully, she spoke, her mermaid voice as she called it, the one that was designed to lure anyone in slipped through, "I guess you could say that. It's a good place to waste time, maybe meet some people." Which was true, she did come here once in awhile and sometimes got to meet other supernaturals as well. Which she didn't mind in the least. Huffing slightly, Sara mused, "Mind if I join you up there? It must get annoying to have to keep looking down at me." Sara then placed her hands on the side of the pool, it was only about a 6-inch raise up from the water level, but that was still painful enough. The main reason, legs came with the ability so that she could sling her leg up and help herself get up. Not with her tail. She paused slightly, regathering herself as if to debate this. He was one of them, a supernatural, he moved like one that was for sure, and that was an easy way to tell if someone was one or not. The mermaid then pushed with her tail, propelling herself, as well as using her toned arms to lift herself up. Easily hovering there, she turned and sat down, her tail dangling over the edge and back into the water, disappearing into it, as she grinned, sitting next to him, as if she did it everyday, just sat next to someone. Tilting her head gently, Sara inquired, "How long have you been in Maunka?" she inquired, eyes shifting towards her towel, she knew her bikini bottom would reappear when she dried off, if she took her tail fully out of the water, but Aaron didn't know that. "I've only been here for...a few years, but I like it. Live anywhere else before?" [/blockquote][/blockquote] TAG: anyone <3 WORDS: enough MUSE: -pokes sara- she's behaving mostly CLOTHING: eh, white bikini top, and her fin <3 oh, her clothes before she changed hereNOTES: sorry took me forever. -smacks self- CREDIT: TILLY of caution 2.0.

Aaron had never met a mermaid before, but from the myths and stories he had heard about, they sounded like fascinating creatures. "Vampires are not a concern of mine," he said, pausing to stare down at the water with disinterest, his thoughts lingering on the subject for a short moment. They were strange creatures, and he was one now. The day he turned into one still felt like only a few months ago when in actuality it was years. As for mermaids, he was curious.. people said that if they were to get wet, they would form a tail..
What really interested him was what mermaids tasted like, but he wouldn't know until he captured one and brought it back to his place for samples. He did well to hide his thoughts from seeping out onto his face, despite the tinge of excitement that wiggled through his body. Or maybe that was the lure of her voice, who knew? The fact that they were both the influencing creatures with luring powers meant they had similar abilities, and somehow, it seemed they were cancelling each other out, if Aaron knew it or not. He wasn't exactly using them at the moment.
They were reserved for specific targets, for specific purposes.. well.. the majority of the time. He did use them to take advantage of people, or to make them do goofy things for amusement, and he knew it was evil, but he justified it to himself by saying that bad things happened to people all the time.. right? In all those times he manipulated people, besides his initial blood-lust phase during his beginning days as a vampire, he refrained from putting anyone seriously in harm's way.
"Nah, I don't mind," he replied softly, erecting himself from his hunched over position. Gently shaking his arms, most of the water dripped free and he wiped the remaining moisture off onto his lap. The delicate hairs of his arm gradually pricked up off his smooth skin, their subtle shifts tickling him, but he ignored it, distracted by Sara's beautiful form settling next to him. On second thought, he did mind, but it was only because of how women were so beautiful. It made his pulse rise sitting so close to her. He allowed his eyes to wander, but only over her glistening tail, to perhaps distract him from other parts of her body, not wanting to be rude and gawk.
Compared to hairy, burly men, they were noticeably smaller and more fragile, with dainty features and naturally graceful movements. Aaron couldn't help but be attracted to them, they were piratically man's opposite; soft where they were hard, delicate and supple where they were broad and strong, even in an emotional sense.
Aaron's feet swayed slowly in the comfortable, warm water, wanting to get in, but he also didn't want to get his clothes wet either. Maybe after she left he would take a spontaneous dip without them, or he would do the more predictable thing, just come back at a later time. Either way, he couldn't get what he wanted now, so he pushed away the thought of going for a swim. He spoke casually, "About five years, so not much longer than you it seems. I used to live in a similar city to this one, except it had more trees and wildlife. It wasn't as bustling as this place. It's not exactly what I call home, but it definitely has interesting people within it, which I like. ...What do you like about it here?"
