His unsettled business getting tangled up with Selene wasn't something that Aaron wanted, but it just happened that way. They would take refuge in a small house in the forest, one of his many comfortable residences. He highly doubted the werewolf was able to follow them here, considering the fact that there were several distracting scents around the area that he cached for that specific purpose, to lead it astray. With its sloping turns and myriad trees, the way to his house was very confusing to strangers. Even some people that knew the general route had a difficult time finding its specific location nestled in the hills. He knew that if they went to her place, the beast would have found them in an instant, and she would've become a victim to its wrath as well. Rage has no bounds.
They made it to his territory. The fading moonlight bathed the area. A distinct sulfur scent filled the air from one of the hot springs that the house sat near. Passing through the garden silently, they made it to the front glass door, upon which he unlocked and slid smoothly open. At first glance, the house appeared dwarfed by the towering trees surrounding it, but inside, it was deceptively large. One would believe that this house was not anywhere near a safe enough place to protect them from a crazed werewolf, but in reality, it held up nicely, having everything reinforced from the inside out, especially the glass; high impact and crack resistant. Some exceptionally soft pillows and a few blankets were strung across the couch, and a few mildly dirty dishes sat on the far kitchen counter. Company hadn't been expected, but he was still quite neat for a guy.
After first taking his shoes off at the door, he flipped on the three lights in the open kitchen and dimmed them to a soft glow, though not to the point where they couldn't see their surroundings clearly. He turned to her and spoke softly, "I would have liked to bring you home, but having you stuck with me for a few hours will likely please you more." He grinned playfully, not only because of the obvious reason there would be a werewolf on her doorstep if they had initially went to her house, but also because Aaron was confident he could give her a good time; he was a natural entertainer. Noticing his own hunger, he headed towards the kitchen, wondering if she was experiencing the same feeling. His dark eyes watched her with interest. Leaning back against the counter-top with an arm resting upon it, he inquired, ".. You hungry?" Aaron was actually quite a decent cook, and he could fix her just about anything she wanted.——————————— house images: www.smallhousestyle.com/2007/07/23/the-mill-house-by-wingardhs/

To Salene it felt like they were running for hours. Their surroundings whipped past so fast she didn’t even know what she was looking at anymore, blasted human eyes. She was glad Aaron was leading through the woods as if it was in reverse she probably would have crashed into something by now. She hated the fact that her eyes were her weakest part of her senses. Everything else was super advanced; it was her eyes that let her down all the time. She could no longer hear the werewolf behind them anymore, perhaps it had lost their scent or just merely given up on it pursuit of them. Though you could never be too sure when it came to werewolves they were cunning and sly. Finally they came upon this cute little glass house tucked nicely away amongst the trees. This place was defiantly off the radar. It was a cleaver place to put a house, especially if you weren’t a fan of frequent visitors. The smell of a hot spring nearby made her grin she really did have a dirty mind. He led her through the garden and up to the glass front door. He slid it open and she followed him in.
Salene entered his home and all she could see was black, stupid eyes. She stayed were she was when he moved away from her. She didn’t want to follow him and bump into something and break it that would be bad and a little embarrassing. Soon light filled the room and her eyes stung from the sudden glare. They were instantly dulled and her eyes adjusted, she looked around the home it was very cosy, wasn’t really her style but it was nice enough. She looked down and saw that he had removed his shoes; the decent thing would be to do the same. She lent down and pulled the zipped down on her boots and slipped them off. She then noticed what kind of socks she had on, bright pink hello kitty sock. Fantastic, the day she decided to go wandering around the forest instead of doing laundry. She mentally slapped her own forehead and walked further into the house stopping close to the large open kitchen. Being a hybrid she still craved human food and she could live on only that for weeks and, Salene was defiantly one to enjoy her food. She didn’t expect Aaron to have any here.
But she wasn’t correct on everything, it turned out that he did have human food, then it dawned on her, he was still a freshling and for a little while he will continue to eat human food and crave it, till his body rejects it. It was evitable the vampiric DNA in his blood stream would soon take everything of his human life away, including the enjoyment of eating food. She could smell the food in his kitchen and her stomach softly growled. The dirty dishes on the far counter top told her that he was still eating human food. She was pretty good a reading things and people, she felt sorry for him in a way. Soon he would have no humanity left. She was snapped out her thoughts of food when he spoke telling him that he would have like to have taken her back to her home but staying here would have to do, she smiled. “Oh such the gentleman of you” she said with a small chuckle. Images of the stuff they could get up to here swam through her head. She really needed to get more friends and stop thinking in the gutter all the time. She really was a promiscuous hussy sometimes.
He then entered the kitchen further and lent upon the counter top, he eyes watched him intently not leaving him. He then asked her the very question she was hoping he would ask her. Yes she was extremely hungry, she was always hungry. “Yeah I am a bit” she said following him into the kitchen. “You should enjoy food while you can, the need and want to eat it for you won’t last long” she said feeling bad for him because everyone enjoyed a good hearty meal and not being about to stomach it anymore would kill her she would throw herself at the closest hunter and demand that he kill her if she couldn’t handle the taste of human food anymore. “This is a nice place” she said looking around the room. “Don’t worry you won’t have me randomly turning up on your doorstep, I could remember how to get here if my life depend on it” she said smiling.

Aaron's eyes shifted over to the a wall clock behind her, his gaze leery and penetrating, as if he knew he was entertaining the devil; a bit out of place for the casual conversation they were having. Although, the glance itself was brief and indistinguishable, it could have very well tipped her off, but it was highly unlikely since he often wore a composed, sedate expression, concealing any emotions beneath his exterior when he wasn't laughing. He could sense something prominent outside, not that he had these incredible abilities for miles, but his skills were honed being a full vampire, and he was able to detect a very subtle, rhythmic whoosh, an elevated pulse of blood pumping through the mighty heart of a beast not far away, moving fast towards the house. He resisted glancing towards the large glass windows, not wanting attract attention towards that area where the beast was undoubtedly closing in.
So, it was true.. at least according to her. He was going to lose pretty much all of his taste for food, literally. As he dwelled on the thought, he did remember cooking one of his favorite meals not long ago and having it taste incredibly bland. Losing his taste went in waves, some days things were more flavorful than others, but human food was losing it's appeal fast. Agreeing, he said, "That makes sense now that you mention it." It was disappointing being unable to devour his hard cooked meals, however, blood was ever more satisfying. Hope wasn't lost. He only hoped he wouldn't get bored of tasting only one category of food. As for his hobby of cooking, he would find a way to make it work, even if it was just to make himself feel semi normal again, or for the benefit of others, he knew he would still enjoy it. He grinned, "My fridge may look modest, but she's loaded." As usual, there was plenty of food, so he wasn't at all bothered with using some of it to cook them a meal. "What type of foods do you like? I'll fix us something."
It was late. Well.. early, but still near pitch black outside. If she stared at the glass windows without moving for a minute, it's possible she may have noticed the wolfish, eight and a quarter foot tall form smoothly pacing back and forth about twenty-five feet from the house. Its movements were graceful and unnaturally fluid, but eerily menacing. With the glare of the lights on the glass itself, and the fact that she was half human, this too was unlikely for her to detect, but still not impossible if certain factors played out just right. The kitchen lights were enough to spill a faint glow onto the earth outside, and the creature stayed back cleanly out of it's reach.
He stood from the counter and circled around it, picking up some of the bowls, placing them into the near empty sink. He glanced up at her as she complemented the place. "Thanks. It has its uses." The windows were an revealing and refreshing view to the outside scenery, and the hot springs.. well, it was nice being able to use them without any prying eyes of neighbors. "Seclusion is another benefit." A grin crept over his face, remembering all the good, significant memories of this place in the past two years he's owned it, of barbecues, parties, bonfires, as well as the solitary times on his own, hunting and fishing. The hot springs were especially wonderful while bathing in the shade of the trees during the summer, or when it snowed in the winter months. However, on any given day, it was a pleasure, even when it rained. Even if she managed to unexpectedly turn up on his doorstep, he would welcomed the company. "I wouldn't mind it even if you did. This place tends to get unexpected guests from time to time anyway.." Whatever that meant, he was just being honest. He left it open for her to take it however she pleased. Turning, he opened the fridge and began to carefully shuffle some things around inside it.
Mere seconds after he had turned his back towards Salene and the general area of the room, the obscured wolfish figure suddenly got bolder. It stopped its pacing to and fro, and then advanced towards the glass several feet. Although it was still out of the light's reach, the stalking form became much more noticeable. It was much taller than both of them, and now that it was closer, its true height was becoming more apparent. It stood completely motionless now, narrowed, piercing blue orbs gleaming with the faint light of the room, ever so softly glowing in the nearby distance, staring hungrily at Salene. It's massive jaws gaped, strings of thin, glossy saliva webbing between its long, sharp teeth.

Aaron asked her what kind of foods she likes. She liked all foods! But if she had to choose it would be Italian foods. She loved pasta and the like. "My favorite food is Lasagna" she said smiling at the thought of a slab of tasty home cooked lasagna. There was just nothing better then that, well cheese burgers where pretty good as well and she would have that if lasagna wasn't available. Sal walked over to the breakfast bar and pulled out a stool and sat down on it and lent her elbows on is hard surface. She smiled at his simple response to her compliment about his house. It really was nice, she so could live there. Though she wouldn't wont to live there alone as it would get a little lonely being so secluded from everything and everyone. She could imagine some great parties going on here. She would have to put it across to Aaron one time to have a party here. She couldn't help but smile at his words, he wouldn't mind if she just turned up on his doorstep. It was evidence that he too go lonely out here. You could do anything you wanted out here and no one would be none the wiser of the dealings going on. She chuckled to herself at the thought of dealing weapons or something awesome like that. She has always wanted to be a mob boss and have her own awesome gang. She really did think of some dumb things.
Salene was so wrapped up in her ridiculous thoughts that she didn't even notice at putrid smell and the daunting shadowy figure growing larger outside. It wasn't until she looked up and noticed that Aaron had his back to her and his eyes focused on the darkening outdoors beyond his windows. She the got to her feet and walked around the counter and stopped next to him and looked outside. "What are we looking at?" she asked looking out into the darkness just outside his window. Her crappy human eyes strained to focus on all the shadows outside but thats all they were to her, just shadows. She couldn't figure out what was real and what was just shadow. Finally that putrid smell dawned on her and she scrunched her face up. "Oh Jesus what is that horrible smell?" she asked looking around the room, expecting to find a dead cat some where. Little did she know that the werewolf that had been chasing them through the forest was stalking them outside from the shadows. In all her years she had manage to stay clear of the werewolf race but now she was going to have her first werewolf encounter and she had no idea that it was coming. This was going to all kinds of fucked up, this beautiful house was going to get trashed.

Aaron was starting to like her more and more. She was friendly, had good taste, and was quite wise with her knowledge of vampires. She would be a great ally to stick close to. "Lasagna, huh? ..That sounds delicious. If my taste buds are going to go out, that is one of the better foods to sate my hunger with before it's gone. Good choice," he said, his head still stuffed into the cold depths of the fridge. He knew he could whip that up for them, plus he had all the needed ingredients on hand. Lasagna was easy, but it did take some time to cook. Just enough time to allow him to wrangle Niklos before they ate.
While the refrigerator door was still hanging open, he grabbed a pot and put it on the stove, turning on the heat to medium high. He then calmly collected the two different types of meats, basil and cilantro leaves, an egg, varying cheeses, and a jar of prechopped garlic from the fridge. The onion, noodles, tomato sauce, etc, were gathered from various compartments in the kitchen, which were opened and gently stirred into the pot after the meat was properly cooked. Needless to say, it took a few minutes to prepare everything to the point where it was ready to be covered and plopped into the oven for baking. Aaron set the over timer and glanced back at the clock on the wall. He had twenty-five minutes or so before he would need to tend to it again.
The beast was still lurking outside, standing motionless in the same position like a statue when Aaron approached the glass from inside, his eyes narrowing as he grinned deviously. "You probably don't want to know.." he said, still facing the glass. "Smell?" he questioned her curiously, then it hit him. He had almost forgotten about it entirely. "Oh.. that," he laughed at her reaction, not giving her a clear answer. "I'll take care of it," he said casually as he proceeded to walk towards the realm of outside. The creature skulked closer to the wall in front of it, not caring to hide itself any longer. He paused in the open doorway and glanced her way. "Stay in here, OK?" Looking at Aaron, you wouldn't get the slightest indication that he was about to go wrestle an overgrown beast. Now that it was closer, it didn't seem so ominous, its large eyes wide in a fearful, distressed sense. He didn't seem to have the faintest hint of worry. He was either very stupid, or very sure of himself. Aaron slipped past the door and jogged out into the darkness, and the beast, in turn, lurched suddenly forward on all fours to eagerly chase after him.
An eerie roar split through the area, and then there was angry yelling, presumably from Aaron, but his words were drown out by another rumbling snarl. In the next few minutes that passed there was nothing, nothing but silence. What was going on? Was Aaron still alive? Darkness had swallowed them up and there were no signs of life.
