And through the rising and falling apart, We discover who we are The hybrid grinned as he mused about the dogs, and even werewolves. "Really? Does that carry over to your human form as well?" The young woman couldn't help herself. She liked this conversation with Colt, it was definitely proving to be nothing less than interesting. Hesitating slightly, Lorelai heard him inquire about Troy. Laughing lightly, she stroked Troy's muzzle gently and commented, "I'll do my best, but no promises. Troy can be stubborn if I remember correctly." Colt...actually wanted to see her mermaid form? Wasn't he aware of the pain it could be if they weren't careful? She had to be careful of every little drop of water, even the condensation on the glass in front of her for her drink. Granted, with being a hybrid, it would have to touch her legs or waist, therefore her hands were good, but she wasn't going to take a chance of a drop escaping. Brushing her fingers along the glass, she then shot the droplets of water into the air, causing them to evaporate. "Well...I suppose we could use a boat of a friend of mine." she eyed him lightly, "How do you feel about swimming in the ocean?" She smiled weakly, "I promise, we can even go right now if you want, in the middle of the day. I only live a block away from the beach." Lorelai mused, remembering walking that path quite a bit when she arrived, as she had missed the sunshine of Sierra Leone, and would often spend all hours of the day at the beach, just listening. Since by then she had easily lost her sight.
Lorelai lazily twirled a bit of her hair, mostly out of habit before suddenly hearing Colt's response to her true voice. The mermaid voice. Nibbling her bottom lip lightly, she smiled innocently as she listened to his answer. Arching an eyebrow, she then wanted to ask, just pretty? She wouldn't go there, not right now. Never be horribly picky, she thought, but she wasn't being picky. She was being paranoid. That had been the main reason Chibuzo kept her alive, he thought she was gorgeous, especially since she was only a part African, he liked the "lighter" color of her skin. Goose bumps ran down her spine and through her system before she soon began to smother it, her head shifting down for a few brief moments. She did like the compliment, and it was from Colt, making it even more special than if anyone off the street had said it. "I won't lie to you, Colt." she promised. Not tell all the truth? She'd probably do that, because she was paranoid, but she knew that if Colt asked, she didn't want to hide anything from him. She knew it would only suck in the long run, especially if he called her out on it, she'd feel absolutely horrible. Fiddling with her napkin, nervously, Lorelai commented, "Troy can even go with us on the boat too...he likes water." Lorelai wondered about that, "Or...we could go another day." she suggested, obviously wanting to see him again. Who in their right mind wouldn't?
A light laugh escaped her lips as him calling her stubborn. He had no idea. Stubborn and independent, another reason why she really wanted to at least pay to cover her part, on the house or not. Shrugging, Lorelai mused, "I've been called that once or twice before." she grinned easily. Putting down a ten on the table, Lorelai then relaxed, as she felt Troy shift eagerly under the table at her, before she smiled softly towards the male, "Mind if I ask when the next full moon is?" she grinned weakly, blinking as she stroked Troy's soft ear for a moment, as she finished her sandwich, and judging on the response time for Colt to answer, he was most likely about done with his lunch too. One thing Lorelai had, when she got done eating, she hated to sit still. She liked to move around afterwards, as if to burn the calories or something, though she wasn't horribly picky. Pausing, she then mused, her head sagging slightly, "I have...an appointment tomorrow, and Troy isn't allowed where I'm going...would you want to go with me there?" she was taking a dive about having Colt know she was seeing a therapist, but she would explain it, as she had been told, within 6 months, if all went to plan, she could be seeing like she had before. Excitement coursed through her at that thought, but most of all, being able to see Colt again.

Interest immediately piqued at the thought of going out onto the ocean, Colt leaned forward in his chair. Sure, seeing a mermaid in her true form was ridiculously dangerous. Every sucker knew that. The werewolf just had a feeling that he wouldn't be in any danger if he were to accompany Lorelai to the water. It also meant that he wouldn't have to leave her just yet. Extended time was always a good thing. After a moment of consideration, he nodded. "I would be honored to accompany you to the beach, Miss Mermaid. Right now, if that's alright with you. I don't think I'm ready to leave you yet." The smile in his voice was impossible to miss, even if she couldn't see the grin on his face. This sounded like an excellent plan in his head, even if he was putting himself in a dangerous situation.
He looked up when she spoke again. "Won't lie to me? Well, that's good to know." He really did appreciate such sentiments even if they were sort of outdated. What kind of person could get away with never telling a single lie? Even Colt, who valued honesty above most things, had to fib about his name. He didn't see it as a full out lie, just a half-truth. That could be managed.
The werewolf chuckled at Lorelai's acceptance of the word stubborn. Apparently, it was something she'd heard before. That didn't surprise him at all. "When's the next full moon?" He echoed quietly. "Two weeks from now. I'll get more and more restless between now and then. Oh, I forgot to mention. I've got silver fur. It's funny because Tober's gold and neither of match our normal hair colors but we form a set. 'Cept with blue and green eyes. We're kind of a sight to see." A weak chuckle escaped. The few times that he'd been with October in non full moon nights, when they had control of their minds, they'd been inseparable. A team, of Sorts. He had no doubt that the one time they'd been together on a full moon night, that they'd worked the same way. That must have been a sight, a silver wolf and gold wolf hunting side by side.
Green eyes widened slightly in surprise when Lorelai asked him to go with her to the appointment. did she trust him that much already? the thought thrilled him to the core. Only knew the woman for about two hours, and she already trusted him? The voice in the back of his head only murmured in agreement. She's special... You know that. Embrace it. Shaking his head to silence the voice, Colt spoke slowly and softly. "Once more, it would be my honor to go with you. I doubt I can be as good as Troy, but I would do my very best, if you'd let me."

And through the rising and falling apart, We discover who we are Just the very idea of being able to spend more time with him sent wonderful chills down her spine, causing excitement to flood into her head. The brunette tilted her head slightly, listening in on the man's voice as he responded to the invitation to the beach today, and onto Sara's house boat. Granted it was pretty big, but she could only hope Colt could at least maneuver it out of the harbor. If not, there was another boat she'd been told she could use if someone else drove it. She grinned, Miss Mermaid? That was a new one to say the least, "Riveting." she beamed, wanting to put as much excitement into that smile as she possibly could, "You do know how to drive a boat, right? If not, I can have it steer itself out." she grinned innocently. She'd done it once before, and it had actually worked very well. Pausing, she inquired, "Would you need to go to your place if you wanted, and get your suit? I do know that Sara has random extra suits on her boat, just for people who may need one." Lorelai smiled gently, and she patted Troy softly, "Want to go swimming?" the dog immediately perked up at that and whined eagerly. She then straightened up slightly in the chair as Colt responded to her lying. Flashing a quick smile, the hybrid commented, "Like you said, honesty is a very good way to go."
She wasn't ready to leave quite yet either, especially since the day was pretty young, and if they wanted, they could spend the rest of the day on the boat. That of course, would be entirely up to Colt, as she knew that Sara wouldn't mind it, as long as she was at least told about it. Besides, the blonde mermaid was busy planning a wedding with her fallen angel lover. Lorelai grinned, she was happy for Sara, so happy for the sweetheart, whom she'd met when Sara had gotten onto the beach in the middle of the night, and Lorelai practically stumbled upon the blonde. Smiling fondly, Lorelai grinned lightly, "Yeah, but only a few times." she teased, emphasizing it. Though the moment he opened his mouth, she fell silent, listening intently to what he had to say. So, silver and gold. How original, she thought gently, definitely interesting to say the least, the combination of the siblings, she wondered if that happened with other siblings. Or twins. Probably not, but she figured she could at least see why. "That's quite amusing, and so, two weeks from now, hm? Close to my birthday it sounds like." She nodded quietly, "Let me know if there's something I can do for you and Tober, if you guys will need a place to crash or something." she offered, wanting to help out if they needed it in any way.
Carefully standing up, her hand already with Troy's leash, she cocked an eyebrow, before then holding out the leash for Colt to take, going to give him a test. She trusted him enough, and she knew Troy would definitely make his displeasure known if he didn't want to do something with Lorelai around, or just plain didn't like the action. "How about a little test run?" she offered a light smile, "I'm sure you'll do just fine, Colt." the young woman reassured, as she remained standing, not wanting to move, especially with Troy's leash about to vanish from her hands, and she paused, thinking she heard someone approach them. Obviously she wasn't aware of who it was, but she figured it was most likely Justine. Remaining silent, Lorelai looked to Jason Colt solemnly, "I can show you on our way where I live for tomorrow." she commented lightly, managing to hide most of the excitement of seeing Colt again out of her voice, though otherwise she hadn't done that good of a job of it, but she didn't care. This day definitely was turning out to be better than she anticipated.

Colt considered his skills with boats. Sure, he'd been out on the them before but he wasn't quite sure if he was skilled enough to maneuver one all by himself. Of course, there was always the option of having the autopilot Lorelai mentioned. That was a comforting sort of thing, he supposed. "Yeah, I think I can steer the boat well enough to take it out. It's been a while, so I'm a bit rusty... But I think I've got it covered." An idea suddenly dawned on the werewolf when Lorelai spoke again. "I would like to swing by my place, if you don't mind. I've got a suit I should pick up. Wouldn't want to put out your friend, since she's been so gracious as to offer you her boat whenever you want."
There was a note of teasing to the man's voice. It was just too easy to play with Lorelai. His teasing was good natured and wasn't attempting to further a goal for once. The comments were made because he was enjoying making them and for no other reason, which was sort of a surprise. Everything seemed to be a surprise when it came to the woman sitting across the table and the werewolf thoroughly enjoy that feeling. It was new and rather exciting, so he wanted to relish every second of it.
He found it rather interesting that the full moon fell near her birthday. Had she mentioned her birthday before? He made a mental note to find Lorelai a present. "Thanks for the offer, but that won't be necessary. We always find places to hang out after shifting. Tend to crash for most of the next day. I mean, if you want me to come over specifically, I can make those arrangements, but.... barring that..." Again with the flirting. He seemed to be getting a little more bold since the hybrid was responding positively.
Green eyes blinked owlishly as colt watched Lorelai stand and offer him Troy's leash. A test run? Suddenly, he wasn't so sure. Nervously, he took the proffered leash and guided Lorelai's hand to his arm to keep track of her too. his eyes cut over to Justine who had, in fact, come up to the table. He just shooed her away quickly, the signal that the woman should come back later to clean the place up. She never minded when he brought in women and always treated him to good food. He really was grateful. "Alright then.. I guess we're off. Troy.. Ready to go, buddy?"

And through the rising and falling apart, We discover who we are Lorelai perked as she listened in on the other side of the conversation, Colt's part. Drive the boat? Suit himself, she knew she certainly wasn't going to, it'd be better if either he did it, or she had the boat get itself out into open waters. She had done that before when it had been her, Delma and Sara, three mermaids out for a few days on the ocean. Sara ended up escorting them a lot, though Lorelai happened to give herself a potion where she could use echolocation much like bats and dolphins to help her find out where things were. Especially shells. The earrings she had in now, though small, were shells she had found on the ocean. They weren't hurt at all, and she'd much rather she wore them as earrings rather than sold to some tourist. "Sounds good, plus the boat's on the end with other ones it's size, so you should be good." she flashed a quick grin and fell silent as he commented about going back and getting his suit. She carefully thought. Damn, where was her's? Oh right, it was actually on Sara's boat. Or at least her swimming one, her other one was at her house. Nibbling her bottom lip, the hybrid nodded, "Course. I mean, I was planning on kidnapping you to the boat, but we're going there anyway. A little detour won't hurt." The brunette winked, reaching down with one of her hands to brush her fingers against the other wrist. She felt what she was looking for, a rubber band to keep her hair out of her face. As she remained there, sitting in the darkness, that sweet, familiar darkness, Lorelai grinned lightly at his comment.
Little charmer you, she thought gently, affectionately before she shook her head, "Oh no, I wouldn't want to bother you after an all-nighter. Just make sure to remind me, or I can put it in my phone." she flashed a quick grin, and a wink in his general direction, "I mean, if I did ask you, you should probably expect me just to make sure that you rest." she grinned impishly, playfully, "I've done an all-nighter before, just studying, that sucked, I could only imagine that on top of moving around and all that." She wasn't aware - that much - of all of what werewolves did in their nights, but she wasn't too worried about it, she rarely went into the woods, though now she knew if she did, she'd be more than eager to go there for Colt. "Maybe we could go hiking sometime, I'm not that horrible at it when I have my stick." she patted Troy gently, "No offense, Troy." Standing still as she listened to the movement around her, she could hear Troy's curious whimper, then him whine eagerly, his tail hitting Lorelai's bare legs for a few moments as she reached into her shorts to check if there was a bobby pin there. Then she heard Colt's inquiry, as the leash vanished from her hand's senses, and Colt's arm to replace them.
Her head tilted down slightly, Lorelai grinned as Troy did a soft bark, as she called them, which were little bars that could be heard, but they weren't necessarily loud barks. Laughing gently, Lorelai tossed over her shoulder to the person she figured was Justine as she and Colt stood up, "Thank you for the wonderful food, Justine. I'll be sure to recommend this place to my friends." Lorelai's grip tightened slightly on Colt's arm when she counted the steps towards the door. She remembered a slight step, and cocking her head, she carefully stepped over it, not wanting to stumble and take Colt down with her. Walking, matching her pace with his, the hybrid became aware of his smell. He smelled good. A mix of the fresh smell after a rain, woodsy, with a dash of cologne. She liked it. Smiling to herself, Lorelai mused, "I do know that magic can help werewolves a lot but..." she paused, "For the full moons, if I may ask, how does it work? Like...do you just ignore the others, or do you sometimes hunt together?" As she walked with Colt, her fingers brushed over his arm like butterflies, carefully, lightly. She was wanting to get a feel for Colt, besides his arm, maybe when they went swimming after all - she could only see with what her hands touched. As they slowed, figuring they were at his house by now, Lorelai mused, "I'll hold onto Troy while you get your stuff. By the way, good job leading me. See? You'll do just fine." she grinned lightly, reassuring.

It was truly a pleasure to watch the woman he was socializing with become more and open to him. She had just winked in his general direction, a rather pleasant visual, if he was honest. The werewolf could only guess at what sort of person she'd be when he fully gained her trust, but the thought alone excited him. Colt was already enjoying himself immensely. It could only get better. "Oooh, you were planning on kidnapping me, huh? Well, sorry. But I do sort of need that little detour. Sorry for derailing your plans. Perhaps you can kidnap me another day..." There was something about the teasing tone in his voice that made his current affection clear.
This was nuts. This was madness. He had literally known the woman for hours and he was already talking to her like she belonged at his side. What could that mean? He had heard talk about soul mates and all that jazz, but had never really believed it. After all, what proof had he seen? Sure, his parents seemed to like each other but.... soul mates? Did that even make sense? He hadn't seen any evidence of the concept here in Manuka yet, but he idly supposed that didn't prove its nonexistence. Perhaps... Just maybe.... The voice in his head was right. Maybe she /was/ special. maybe he just had to his eyes... and maybe hers too.
The werewolf realized with a slight start that he'd been ignoring Lorelai for his thoughts, which happened to be about her anyway. A slight chuckle escaped his lips, mostly at the irony of that situation, before he put together what she was saying. She'd politely turned down his staying over tease, but that didn't matter. She was playing along. That's what was important.
Just like that, they were outside on their way. He didn't live too far from the Dinner Plate, so it was a short but pleasant walk. Colt thought about Lorelai's question, musing silent. When he spoke, his voice was soft and almost hesitant. "I... don't really know much about what other werewolves do. I mean, wolves are naturally pack animals, not meant to be alone. If I've woken up with anyone, which would be an indication of night time teamwork, it's been Tober. But you know... family pack and all. She says... that there's another pack around.. One here in Manuka. I haven't run into them yet, though I suspect I will soon. Tober's gonna force me eventually and I don't really know how I feel about that."
Oh, look! His apartment building. Lorelai somehow seemed to sense that they had arrived, as she'd taken Troy's leash back. He grinned at her faith in her, laughed rather loudly. "Well, glad I'm going an okay job. I'll be right back." Colt dashed into his apartment and threw his suit, a towel, and some sunscreen in a bag before throwing the bag over his shoulder and returning to Lorelai's side. Once more, he took Troy's leash and placed Lorelai's hand against his arm. "Off again!"
It seemed only moments before the smell of the water assaulted his nose. It was salty, crisp, and relaxing all at the same time. WIth a start, Colt realized that he really didn't know which boat he was looking for. As almost an answer to his mental question, it seemed Troy knew the way so Colt just followed and pretended he knew where they were going. When they arrived at the end of the dock of the intended boat, Colt released Troy to let him jump on and offered his hands to Lorelai. "May I help you on? What can I do?"

And through the rising and falling apart, We discover who we are Lorelai squeezed his arm calmly as he went on about the werewolves and then his sister making her meet this other pack here in Manuka. That was good, socializing for them she supposed, making a pack here couldn't be all that bad she figured, that meant they'd have other people behind them if the need were to ever arise. The hybrid paused and then mused, "I'm sure it will work out, you know? I mean, as long as you don't torture them too much." she teased, eyes blinking as she paused outside his door she figured, realizing they were at least inside somewhere, while she held onto Troy, who obediently sat down where she could feel his fur against her leg. Patting him softly, he nuzzled her hand, "You like him, don't you Troy. You little suck-up." she spoke simply, causing the dog to lick her hand as if he understood. It was the instinct she figured, as she felt a pleasant chill run down her spine. Here she was, Lorelai, a refugee basically, getting to go out on a friend's boat with someone she'd only met hours ago! Yet it felt like they had known each other for years! Like she knew everything about him - though in reality - she probably only knew a bit about him. Maybe they could spend the rest of the day out in the ocean, out in the boat. She could hear him moving around inside, and the witch grinned impishly. One perk she supposed, was her enhanced senses, touch, smell, hearing, and even taste in a way, she was able to pick apart a dinner meal made up of a few more things, like this dip Bonnie made, it was combined of lettuce, black olives, refried beans, a sauce and dice tomatoes, with a few others, but Lorelai liked being able to see what was what, well, taste more than see.
She jumped slightly when Colt suddenly reappeared and Troy's leash disappeared and instead her arm was with Colt's, trusting him as they walked along. Reassurance settled into her nerves, and the young woman felt herself...glad about this. Glad she was with Colt, not just that, but...very, extremely eager too. Lorelai gestured to Troy, "He knows where the boat is, but it's a big white one, I know...like the rest I suppose, but I believe it's called Messenger of the Oceans." she nodded slightly, remembering Sara telling her that once before. She inhaled slowly, and sighed, god she loved that smell. That crisp, ocean smell and the mermaid side of her twitched eagerly. She was going to get to go swimming! Excitement bubbled up as she paused, hearing movement, she froze as Troy, based on the slight moment of silence and everything, had gotten onto the boat. Hesitating, nervous, she grinned at his comment, tempted to pull a joke, but she nodded silently, anxiously. "Yes, if you don't mind. I'd much prefer to keep my tail hidden till we're at least out of the harbor." she mused, pointing down as she heard the water and the gentle waves from the boats' movement lick the dock she was perched on.
Her hands reached out and immediately made contact with Colt's, gripping them, Lorelai mused, "How big of a step is it?" she flashed a quick, nervous smile, before she then went with it from Colt, taking a quick step, her foot going into open air before it landed on the boat, she finished getting on, stumbling slightly into Colt. "Sorry." she mused, though only really half-sorry, mainly because upon that, one of her hands had landed on his chest, and goodness she was right. Muscular and gorgeous, adorable, kind, funny, sweet. Charmer. She kept that in mind, as her heart ignored it, the hybrid dumped her purse underneath one of the seats in the back, as she attempted to locate herself on the boat, she straightened up off Colt, smiling shyly, like a school-girl before she commented, running her hand along the boat to locate herself on it, "There's the top part of the house boat, which is where it's just a place to tan and use the slide, then there's the kitchens, bathrooms and bedrooms. Two bedrooms and one and a half baths, with a kitchen and little eating area." Lorelai grinned lightly, before soon carefully picking her places for her feet, "You can change where you'd like. I call the bedroom, since my suit's in there. We can change before we head out."
She could feel the brilliant sun shining down on them as they then headed into the house boat area. Lorelai quickly tied up her hair into a ponytail, her fingers running along it to place it neatly on the back of her head, as she then closed the door till it clicked. Pausing, she debated, attempting to remember where Sara had placed her suit. Damn. Frowning, she then reached out with her magic, locating the remains of her magic she'd left on her suit just in case. Sliding off her shoes, as she jumped onto the bed, Lorelai giggled upon hearing Troy outside, obviously content on following Colt around as much as possible. She found the bedside table and grabbed the keys, placing them on top, before she then stripped down and grabbed her suit. If she remembered correctly, Sara had informed her, white and blue striped. Putting it on, she adjusted the straps, having tightened them extra tight for her swimming. Grabbing the keys and a towel, the hybrid then headed back out to where they steered the boat from, out in the front part, within the house part of the boat. Spinning the keys on her fingers patiently, she held them for Colt as she approached him, using her magic to help her place things, "Here you are, captain." she grinned, wrapping the towel around her waist. Did she care about showing skin? Not really, after all, it wasn't like she could see anything anyway. Lorelai sat down on the side of where Colt would be driving it, she mused, "Let me know about the autopilot, sometimes people like to leave their boats tied loosely and it can be a pain."

Colt had tried to swallow his nervousness when they arrived at the boat. A thump behind him signaled that Troy had made his way on board already. Green eyes peered carefully at Lorelai, though he tried desperately to ignore the streams of shocks when their hands met. He was distracted just long enough by the pleasant stings of contact to miss her question. He cursed himself silently for being unable to help her gauge the distance. Instead, the werewolf moved closer to where he knew she would land, so he could catch her. So he did, looping one arm around Lorelai's waist to ensure that she wouldn't fall.
It honestly seemed like time stopped as Colt held her there for a second. He could feel her hand against his chest, could smell her because she was close. Oddly enough, Lorelai smelled like a mixture of saltwater and electricity, which he assumed came from the magic. It was an intoxicated, heady sort of smell and he was lost in it for moment. 'Oh, uh... No. My fault. I should have helped. Here ya go.." Colt released Lorelai to allow her to feel her way around and listening carefully as she explained the layout.
"I'll take the bathroom," The werewolf said quickly, trying to hide the embarrassment in his voice. He failed to warn her about the step, but it had lead to her being much closer than he anticipated. The surprise contact had him all jittery and what Colt really needed was just a moment to calm himself down. Taking his bag, he retreated into the bathroom and shut the door. He was changed into his swimming trunks rather quickly. They were a bright green, like his eyes, but his swimming partner wouldn't be able to tell anyway. He didn't really mind. Since being changed, the werewolf splashed some cold water on his face and took a deep breath. This woman was rattling him, through and thorough. Strangely enough.... he found himself enjoying it.
Back on deck, Colt had positioned himself near the engine to wait for Lorelai to bring him the keys. He had been staring at the water, which was lapping the side of the boat with an easy rhythm, when Lorelai reappeared. She was absolutely breathtaking in that suit. It complimented her coloring and god, did she have a body. He stared openly for a moment before accepting the keys. "Right. I'll get us out into the water." Grateful for a distraction, he put the keys into the ignition before wandering about retracting lines that kept the boat anchored. When he could feel the gentle shift the water, he hustled back and maneuvered them away from the dock with surprising ease. When they'd put a good bit of distance between the harbor and their current position, Colt killed the engine, located an anchor to drop, and sat down. "Well, here we are. Now or never, Miss Mermaid." That seemed to be the nickname he gravitated to. Whenever he said it, the teasing note was impossible to keep from his voice. "Shall we?"

And through the rising and falling apart, We discover who we are She had felt herself strangely...different when she had been close to Colt, especially with an arm around her waist, caused her to want to stay like that a little longer. Just stay right there, close to Colt and not be too far from him if she could help it. Lorelai blushed slightly, though she didn't worry about it as she had headed off to change, hoping Colt hadn't seen the blush when she returned and he took the keys from her. Sitting down, she curled up her legs and inquired, "Have you been boating before?" It was obviously he probably had been once, he seemed at ease how easily he moved around. She grinned as she heard the engine roar to life before she heard the engines shift and then they started to move. The house boat was pretty large, but she knew that it handled easily from what she'd felt while riding in it. The brunette then quickly patted her thigh, calling Troy over who eagerly padded over, nuzzling her. She remained silent, mulling over her thoughts as they headed out into the ocean. She enjoyed this, it felt...right to be near Colt. It didn't feel awkward if there happened to be some silence between them. It was comfortable. Running a hand through her ponytail, the brunette unhooked Troy's leash, leaving him with no collar to allow him to get off and on the boat easier. Though she'd probably need to help him up with magic, they had developed a system for that. She'd wrap some magic around him, and he would be able to move himself around in the air to get back onto the boat. Pausing, she set down a towel for Troy to get him dry if he happened to go swimming as well.
She felt though, still felt like there were jolts coursing through her body still after she and Colt had pretty much sudo-hugged. A pleasant course of chills bolted down her spine. Did she mind spending time with someone she'd literally just met today? Yes, she didn't want to say good-bye! She enjoyed it too much for her own good, Colt was funny, sweet, respectful and to put the cherry on top, from what she'd felt, a nice body as well. Grinning shyly to herself, Lorelai perked as the engines paused, "You can leave the keys there, I doubt we'll need to worry about it getting stolen." she grinned, they had to be moderately far out. Far out enough where they wouldn't need to worry about too many people willingly swimming out here as well. Standing, Lorelai grinned at the added nickname before she mused, as Troy bounded out to the back, where the ladders were, as well as the little platform that hovered above the water, acting as a step to get back onto the boat, or to fish most likely, knowing Sara's dad. Lorelai's hand then brushed Colt's arm as she reached out for it, realizing she instinctively had when she stood up, causing goosebumps to bolt down her arm and across her torso to her other arm. "Sounds good. Keep an eye on Troy, he won't try and jump in on you, but he might." she nodded reassuringly.
As he sat down, Lorelai poked him, thankfully landing on his side from what she could tell, "Thanks for bringing us out here, Captain. Maybe your sister sometime too, if she likes swimming." Lorelai offered, before grabbing his arm, "C'mon, there's a reef I could show you too, if we are where I think we are." she held out her hand, palm up, as if expecting money, before flipping it over, leaning over the side of the boat, her hand hovering over the water. What seemed like sparks danced from her hand, though when they entered the water, no jolts followed, not actual electricity, just magic seekers, she called it. As the magic pooled out, Lorelai nodded, enjoying being out in the sunshine, in the ocean, with her loyal dog, and Colt. The best day, she could imagine. Or at least one of the best. Turning, she grinned as she felt her magic hit the reef, "We're not too far from it, but the current's bad there this time of day, so another time." she mused, confirming they'd especially see each other again. Dropping her towel, she lingered on the side, looking to Colt playfully, "Ready?" she smiled in the direction she knew he was, as Troy then barked, before darting to the back of the boat, which had been opened with a bolt of magic from Lorelai, allowing the dog to jump in and get out as he pleased. Hearing his splash, Lorelai grinned and cocked an eyebrow towards Colt, "No sharks too, they stay away from the reef." she reassured, then raised her arms and dove in.
The moment she hit the water, the brunette resurfaced, and lingered there, using some magic to tell her where she was in reference to the boat. Turning to face it, she gulped and then went under for a moment, as her legs turned to stone for a brief moment, then they molded together, and a soft glow appeared then disappeared as quickly as it had come from her tail. Lorelai flicked her tail easily, only needing to use that and not her arms, as she raised her arms, tilting her head, hearing Troy get out of the water and stay on the boat based from the noises. The water was wonderful! Lorelai loved it. Giggling, Lorelai then swished her tail, made purely of powerful muscles, causing her to easily do a back dive into the water, allowing her muscles to align correctly and work properly. Upon feeling the water break, she lingered on the surface, floating lazily, eager to hear the splash to signal Colt was in the water. "The water's lovely!"

Colt laughed loudly, raking a hand through his hair. "Isn't it obvious? Yeah, I've been a couple of times. Had a friend back home who took boats out onto a lake. I learned fast." It was true. He and his friend had learned that chicks dug boats, so they'd learned as much as they could in order to impress them. Of course, he didn't plan on telling Lorelai that. Seemed awkward, somehow. Of course, as soon as he'd sat down, Lorelai poked him in the side. "Hey! No problem." He'd managed before she'd taken his arm again and he was once more stunned into silence. It seemed almost natural to have her next to him like this, as if he was meant to be with her. There was that thought again. Why?!
All too quickly, they were at the edge of the boat. Lorelai did something with her magic, he assumed she was scanning the water. Her words confirmed his suspicions. Before he could respond, she had dove over the side of the boat and disappeared into the water. Eagerly, Colt watched Lorelai resurface than disappear again, accompanied by a soft glow. She'd transformed but was too far under water for Colt to see the effects. When she reappeared into his view, the werewolf was astounded by the beauty of what he saw. Her tail was pink and purple, blue and green, and all over silver. Absolutely beautiful. He felt immediately drawn to her, captured by the spell without even realizing.
Easily, Colt raised his hands over his head and dove into the water. He resurfaced, plastering wet hair away from his face with quick strokes of his hands. He laughed easily, amused by the feeling of floating lightly in the water. She was beautiful and he was drawn like a moth to a flame."You're right.. The water is nice..." He fund himself feeling slightly drowsy, though he attributed that to being close to a mermaid in her true form. Interesting...

And through the rising and falling apart, We discover who we are Lorelai grinned towards Colt's direction in the boat the moment her tail appeared. She'd forgotten how good it felt when she was able to fully stretch it. Fully stretch it out and allow herself to fall into what her mother could have shown her and her older sister when they'd gotten older. If it would have worked out differently. Show them how to work the ocean's currents, the animals they could befriend, though Sara had done a pretty good job, Lorelai had wondered often how she might have learned if her mother and her family was still alive. Would she even be here? She might not even be here at this moment in time with Colt, with him right now and being able to say she was really..and something she would never admit to anyone but probably herself - but she was falling for him. The hybrid swished her tail back and forth in the water, patiently waiting for that splash that signaled Colt was in the water with her. Keeping an ear out, as well as her magic for sharks, the only thing she sensed was a movement, a massive movement. Her hopes jumped. Dolphins? Excitement coursed through her as the witch giggled upon hearing a splash, Colt was in the water. She could sense him. God she loved her fin, so sensitive, like all mermaid's tails, sensitive to the water, to where they could sense even a one or two degree change in the temperature.
The mermaid grinned as he laughed, sending chills down her spine. That laugh. Wonderful. She wanted to hear it again. It was like his voice, she loved his voice. "You going to be all right if some fish swim by?" she grinned, before realizing her true mermaid voice had slipped through. "Oh, sorry." she apologized, her hand reaching out and brushing his shoulder lightly, hearing Troy jump in again before paddling to get back out. Her keen senses then perked when she accidentally brushed his leg with her fin, since her fin made her body even longer, as her toes, she figured, stretched for the fin part, making it where her fin started, where her feet originally ended. Lorelai ran her hands through the water, before she mused, "You can use the slide if you want. I would, but that would just be a pain." she grinned, unless she used magic of course, but that wouldn't be fun to try and aim herself to land on the slide. Or she could grab a hold of the end of the slide, and use magic to hoist herself up, guiding herself along with her hands on the slide already. Brushing back some of her shorter hair that had escaped her ponytail, Lorelai spun lightly in the water, giggling, "I remember the first time I saw my tail, just before..." she paused, and added, figuring he'd probably hear, "I..went blind, it was interesting, I had to learn how to swim with it." she smiled fondly, lazily gliding along the surface of the water on her back as she came around to Colt's side, "Thanks again, for taking me to the appointment tomorrow."

The water was nice. The day was beautiful. The mermaid who had brought him here was even more stunning than their atmosphere. A part of the werewolf couldn't get over that fact. He was here with a woman who was almost a complete stranger. Not just a woman, either. He was here, in the water, with a mermaid. She had complete and total control over the situation, could drown him instantly if she so wished. Somehow, though, Colt had a feeling that she would never do such a thing. She might even like him, a thought which thrilled him. He'd have to play games, have to find out. This was an experiment more than an outing, Lorelai just didn't know it yet.
Colt felt his body stiffen when Lorelai spoke in the mermaid voice. Almost immediately, he found himself swimming toward her. Caught under the spell, no way to escape. Luckily for the werewolf, the mermaid caught herself and resumed her normal speech. "Guh.. what? Fish? How'd I get over here?" He considered his change in position and shrugged. It didn't really matter, actually. He was closer to Lorelai and that was the most important thing actually. His shoulder stung from the contact she made and he sort of wanted to bump her accidentally to see what would happen. Choosing to behave, he grinned.
"Now why would I go all the way over to the slide, when I can stay over here and swim with you? That is a better question." Colt turned easily in the water to watch Lorelai swim around him, his eyes never leaving her. Such grace, such beauty... It was incredible. Did she even know how beautiful a creature she was? Probably not. Of course, Lorelai was blind so she couldn't physically see herself, but perhaps if he complimented her enough... Hm.
Green eyes blinked as she circled around him again. Her lovely voice rang out an she thanked him for being willing to bring her to her appointment. "Oh, that's no problem." Colt said smoothly. "I get to help you out and spend more time with you. Seems like a win-win to me. All of this, of course, is assuming that you don't drown me." A note of affection and that ever present teasing slipped back in. The werewolf grinned as he swam a bit closer, probably a bit too close but he relished in it. "You wouldn't do something like that, huh? Use your gorgeous siren voice to lure me to my doom?"

And through the rising and falling apart, We discover who we are Her mermaid voice had slipped, the voice that mermaids could use to drown men with little words. The voice Lorelai remembered her mom using on the men to postpone the inevitable, to try and save her children's lives. She paused in her swimming, her tail slowing its pace as she remained in the water, poised and delicate. Dangerous and gentle, she called herself. Would she ever hurt someone? No way, not unless she absolutely had to. Hearing the werewolf swim closer, the hybrid tilted her head slightly as she realized he'd been drawn closer. Oops. Oh well, it wasn't so bad anyway with him being closer, that only meant her fin would most likely brush his legs. Pausing, Lorelai heard his surprised question. Grinning shyly, she mused, "Sorry, my voice slipped." she flashed a sheepish grin, "Worst case, I tell you to get back on the boat and you actually listen." she winked to the man who was in front of her, close enough in the water, she could reach out if she wanted. Unlike him, she only had to move her tail to stay above water, where he probably had to use both his hands and his feet to do so. A simple perk of being a mermaid. Sensing fish swim by, mostly out of curiosity, Lorelai cocked an eyebrow at his statement about the slide, and staying by her. Laughing lightly at it, she shook her head, "I have no objection to that." Her tail flicked, hitting his legs playfully, "I mean, I would offer a race, but that wouldn't be at all fair." she teased.
Brushing her floating hair behind her shoulder, the mermaid slowly spun in the water, allowing her echolocation to happen, placing things around her, she felt Troy paddling back to the boat, then Colt by her, as well as...what the hell was that? Pausing, Lorelai backed up, bumping into Colt. "Sorry..." she felt a jolt dart up her spine from the contact, as she went to his side, a hand placed itself on his shoulder, "There's..." she scowled, a spark darting from her hand out towards where she had felt that massive object. Would a whale dare to be this close? That's when nearby, Lorelai jumped when a whale surfaced, its blowhole shooting a spout of water into the air. Giggling, she mused, pointing, "Someone might be coming to say hi." As the mermaid lazily swam around Colt, she paused, partially behind him, over his shoulder at his inquiry. Smiling innocently, she shook her head. Running her hand through the water, brushing his arm as she did so, feeling that same jolt down her spine, the hybrid commented, "Not unless I have to." she grinned lightly, "Though...I could give you a potion I have here, it enables well...someone who isn't a mermaid to breathe underwater, all that fun stuff, withstand pressure and such."
Lorelai shook her head, "Of course not, you don't need to worry about that from me." she was unable to hide a teasing smile with that, as she then grabbed his arm gently, the whale cautiously coming closer. Mermaids and sea animals. One of the little things, they tended to come and say hi, at least the mammals. Most fish too, but most of the time they didn't. The whale was big too. Wide-eyed, Lorelai held out a hand, by Colt, as she held it out, "Come here, big boy." she reassured the animal, glancing in Colt's direction, "Want to pet a whale? They're actually very docile, when you don't attempt to hurt a baby." Lorelai mused, her fin brushing Colt's leg once in awhile, mainly to first, help her keep herself situated, the second, she loved the tingling, the burning she got from the contact. Then, a slightly rough, though somehow smooth surface touched her hand. Gasping in surprise, the mermaid grinned, "Just passing by?" She stroked the massive animal's side, as Troy barked on the boat a few times, as if to tell Colt and Lorelai there was a whale in front of them. The creature's eye passed by them, though Lorelai didn't notice it as her hand remained on it, she patted gently. "There. Now you get to say you got to pet an actual whale." she flashed a grin, before soon, the whale dove back under, a wave from the animal causing the boat to rock slightly, and Lorelai to get knocked into Colt once more. Blushing slightly, she kept her hands on him, to make sure he was okay, and...she could feel how close they were, feel the warmth of him, staying by him, though she didn't apologize. No, not this time. Did he feel the same thing, the same sensation when they touched?

Everything had been calm one moment, the perfect sea scene. Lorelai had bumped into him, though, and Colt's work exploded into delicious sparks. She had apologized but the word hardly registered because his mind was too busy trying to dig itself out of a pleasantly fuzzy fog. It was too easy to get lost in the feeling, which felt suspiciously similar to the way he felt when her mermaid voice slipped. How odd. He made that sort of note and tucked it away to ask about later, then tried to bring his mind back to the present. Her hand was on his shoulder and she was saying that something was drawing closer.
Colt about jumped out of his skin when a whale surfaced nearby. "So I see..." He said uneasily, protective instincts flaring up like sirens in the back of his mind. The werewolf was going to ask if the beast was dangerous when Lorelai answered his question for him. Oh? So it wasn't going to hurt them...? Curious, he swam with her to be nearer to the animal. She couldn't see it, but the whale was staring right at them, a harrowing sort of sensation that Colt didn't quite enjoy. Hesitantly, he reached out a hand and stroked the whale's side. The texture of his skin was... odd. Rough and smooth all the same time. Though he was a bit bothered by the creature, Lorelai seemed absolutely delighted so Colt decided to play nice. "Thanks for coming to visit. We appreciate it."
All too soon, the whale was gone. The shock wave of his submerging threw Lorelai back into his arms and her reappearance brought on a fresh storm of sparks. As he had done before, Colt had thrown an arm around her waist to ensure her safety, but this time... This time, he had no desire to let go at all. He laughed softly, green eyes studying her face while she was so close. "Hey," He said gently. "You alright?" Ugh, she was so close... That delightful scent of salt water and electricity stung his nose like the sparks stung his skin. She was close enough to be kissed, and the voice in the back of his head (which happened to be screaming at him to do just that) certainly wasn't helping matters at all. Oh boy....

And through the rising and falling apart, We discover who we are The mermaid was glad the whale had turned out to be that and not a shark. Otherwise she probably would have needed to use some magic to get the shark away from them. That was something she would do only if a shark threatened Troy or Colt. She could out swim and manuever a shark, but she knew they couldn't. Not in water. Well, obviously, especially because sharks weren't going to grow legs and hunt on land. Not any time soon anyway, they'd been like that for millions of years, she highly doubted that would happen. The hybrid felt the surface disappear, as the whale seemed to decide it was done looking at them, most likely wanting to see both of them, as a mermaid and a werewolf weren't the most common thing to see in the ocean - together anyway. Grinning towards the creature, she shushed Troy gently as it had only vanished, knocking her into Colt. Not that she minded it. She liked being close to him. Felt...protected. Safe. Like nothing would ever harm her again, that he could chase away all her nightmares. An arm had coiled around her waist, near where her skin disappeared and gave way to the scales on her tail. It felt like his skin was burning hers where it was touching, but it didn't hurt. It was wonderful, like getting a dose of a drug that she knew she'd be addicted to. She didn't mind it. Not one bit. The best part - he didn't release his arm around her either. One of her hands had landed on his chest, the other, ended up around his back, and for a brief second she was afraid he wouldn't be able to stay afloat, though she figured as she kept using her tail, he'd stay up with her. Keeping them afloat easily, she suddenly lost her voice.
Felt like the Little Mermaid, where she couldn't speak to the person, the person with two legs throughout that movie. Like she couldn't tell him everything that she wanted to say. She could fell him looking at her, as she could tell their faces couldn't be that far apart from each other's. His laugh. Adorable. Perfect. Wonderful. Like him, yet she'd only known him for a few hours, it felt like days. Weeks. Even months. Lorelai heard the question, though she was too distracted by what was going on between them. The...connection. And she wasn't one to believe in soul-mates, though...really? The brunette paused before she then quickly responded, noticing she'd hesitated a bit, "Y-yeah...I believe so." She answered honestly. To be honest, she wasn't sure. These...feelings, were so strong, she hadn't even felt anything like this before - besides the hatred she held for the murderers back home, but this was completely opposite. Colt, out of all these people, had found the weakness, and had broken her down, gotten past her playful, sarcastic side. Lorelai's hand traveled up his chest, as her fingers, delicate as butterflies traced his jaw carefully, afraid almost, like she'd bruise him if she did it anymore than that. "Are you?"
She didn't move, or push away like she normally would have. The hybrid smiled softly, now that she had her fingers along his jaw, she knew exactly where his eyes were. Or very close to it. Her fingers brushed across his face lightly, smiling softly, her head tilted down slightly. This was wonderful. It was pure bliss. She honestly couldn't imagine anything being better than this. Well, they could be say, not in the water, but maybe on land. She refused to think of Chibuzo, her past. She had been advised not to, but to imagine something else. Therefore, Colt would be what she'd imagine. His eyes, green, she imagined so very green, brilliant green like an emerald, his voice that she could fall asleep to, the strength, the passion, the protection she felt around him. Like nothing would ever dare to touch her again. Remaining close, Lorelai hesitated, should she kiss him? God did she want to. Pausing, the hybrid barely realized her face had closed the distance between him and her slightly, as if double-checking everything. She felt something for Colt, she hadn't felt before, a feeling she didn't think she'd ever be allowed to feel in her life after everything. It was all worthwhile, especially if she would end up here, in Colt's arms.

If Colt believed in any kind of eternity, any kind of afterlife.... he decided in an instant that he wanted it to be this. If eternity could be this moment delicious indecision playing over and over in his mind, then he'd be content. It was almost frightening, this moment he found himself thrust into. It was as though the Fates had given him a gift and just... left it on his doorstep to be stumbled over when he least expected it. Here was Lorelai. She was gorgeous, charming, sweet... She needed to be protected, guided... With all his heart, Colt wanted to be that person. He wanted to help her through her life, to be there for whatever she need. He would be a rock, a guardian, a lover... Wait... A lover? Was that.... even possible after knowing her for such a short time? Could people really fall in love that fast?
His green eyes slid shut as delicate fingers found their way to his face. Something in him had wanted her to touch his face from the beginning. It seemed right, seemed like what should be done. As her fingers ghosted over his features, Colt's lips turned upward in a smile. Was he alright? Was she crazy? Couldn't Lorelai feel the way his heart sped up, pounding against his rib cage in an impossibly giddy rhythm? This was too fast, too much... He was falling and there was nothing that could be done once he reached the edge. This was a chasm of unfathomable depth, but if Lorelai was with him through the fall.... Did it really matter?
His keen senses were aware of how painfully close she was. Again, the voice in the back of his head screamed for action, for some kind of a move. He was the man, for God's sake! It was his job to make sure that things happened when they were supposed to. She's perfect, The voice whispered. Go with it. Still, he was nervous. What if this wasn't what she wanted at all? What if he had made a horrible mistake in divining her intentions? He had to take a chance, had to hope that this was right. "Yeah, I'm alright." He practically whispered. "Though I'll be better when I do this..."
There was only a moment of sweet hesitation before he closed the gap between them. The one hand that wasn't wrapped about her waist found her face and cradled it gently. The touch of her lips was soft, impossibly soft. She tasted of metal, somehow sweet and stinging. Magic, he decided. This is what magic tastes like. The seconds stretched into eternities and Colt knew that this was what he wanted forever. Just this... This softness and warmth and beauty... Forever. .....forever? No. Too fast, too bold. The contact was severed as Colt realized his forwardness. Oh god, could he be any more of an idiot?
"I am so sorry." He said quickly. "That was completely inappropriate. Please forgive my stupidity." Just like that, Colt had released her. The warmth disappeared immediately and he regretted it, but the choice had been made. 'Excuse me." He swam away from Lorelai, away from the moment of his dreams and onto the boat. He toweled off and sat with his head in his hands, trying to decide what possessed him enough to make a move that like. He'd probably ruined everything...
