Siane stared at the man who was currently speaking to her. This was unbelievable. She knew him, sort of. He lived in her building. At first, she'd found his infatuation with her flattering and not just a little bit amusing. After all, who was she to turn away some hero worship? Then it had become annoying and now she was heading steadily towards plain mad. The guy in front of her trailed off and after making him wait a few seconds like that she just walked off. The temptation to throw her drink all over was too much...and that introduced the danger of splashing herself. What irritated her more than anything about his behavior was that he actually knew nothing about her apart from what she looked like, where she lived and that she occasionally had Chinese take-out for dinner. He certainly didn't know she was a mermaid, and she doubted he saw anything past her beauty and her voice. To her, those things weren't special. They were normal for her kind, part of the lure. If he'd known that along with being beautiful she was also selfish, vain, cynical and shamelessly manipulative when it suited her she doubted he'd have been nearly so interested. As she wandered through the crowd she supposed she couldn't blame him too much. She was fairly sure he was human and they were such easy prey for sirens. A whisper and look was normally all it took. She scoffed slightly, it was pathetic really, how easy it was. She stopped for a minute wondering if she should go and see a film or something but decided that she didn't really feel like it, she needed a minute to calm down anyway. So far. all she listed in her mental list of qualities were bad traits, did she actually have any good ones? She supposed she did. Nobody was black and white. It was just that she was selective about which sides of her personality she showed to people.
Sitting down on a secluded bench she watched life pass, enjoying her private game of trying to guess what each person was like. She was generally a pretty good judge of character and when someone confirmed her suspicions it increased her enjoyment immensely. Some might find it an odd past time but Siane found it useful. You never knew who you'd see. It also helped her to think and she needed some space to do that right now. She was still completely confused by her actions of two nights previously. Swimming in a storm with a demon? She wasn't sure whether to be pleased with her regained daring or horrified by how much she'd let her guard down. She would discuss it all with Delma when she finally went home. Catching sight of a familiar head she couldn't help the slight smile that curved her lips as she waited for him to notice her and come over.

Manuka air flew in and out of this lungs, deep breaths that allowed him to put on a cool exterior. Shay looked good, and he knew it as much as the people around him could see it. He saw their stares, their looks and he basked in it, finding their attention infatuating. it was so nice to be worshipped, which was such a change from his teenage years that it was unreal. When Shay was a teen, he had been bullied really badly, and he had stuck to his studies. So, in turn, he became a sex god as well as a doctor. Yes he was arrogant, but didn;t he have a reason to? After all, all those so called cool kids were now cleaning toilet's somewhere, and he was earning the big bucks as a doctor as well as being ravished by more women than he could count, as well as one very special boy. Life was hard, but it was so so good for Shay. It had been worth it to suffer when he was a child.
His violet eyes caressed everything around him with a mere look. He didn't often come to the town multiplex, yet at this moment he had fancied a day out. By himself. Grab some food, relax a little without feeling the pressure of patients and his job. Shamus liked to savour the moments of solitude, where his thoughts took over and the people in his life seemed like they were merely his imagination. With a sigh, he took a bite of the hamburger he was carrying. As bad as it was for your health, and he knew it he was a doctor after all, Shay found himself enjoying every bite. The sweet taste of something that was merely a guilty pleasure. He watched in curiousity as a beggar was standing by a post in this huge room, all dirty, with a blanket of sorts over him, looking sad. Shay figured that he had been one of the cool kids back in the day, at school, and that meant that he deserved no sympathy. Of course he didn't know this for sure, but he liked to think so if only because it made him feel better about what they had done to him.
He moved stealthily, catching a few eyes before just grinning. It was a good day, he was feeling happy, maybe even a littly giddy. Because of him. Because of the possibilities. Maybe it was wrong, but at this moment Shay felt more happier than in the last year and a half. Catching a familliar face, he figured that he rarely tgalked to Siane. Maybe he should now. They were alike in personality, selfish and bitchy, he didn't know her well but he found out enough about her to be able to make that assumption. His dazzling violet eyes stayed on the girl as he moved towards her, finding it nice to see familliar faces from the time that had been away. He was right by her now, not saying anything he just plopped down next to her. "Oh don't mind me, I'm just enjoying this burger." He smiled, wiking at her before taking another bite. He was sure he would be greeted by a surly answer, but hey, you never know.

Watching him sit beside her Siane raised an eyebrow "I generally don't" She informed him "Worry about other people" Seeing his choice of food she gave a slight smile. "Seeing as you're a doctor shouldn't you be eating...oh...an apple or something?" She didn't know Shamus that well, but he was sometimes good company, when she was feeling a bit selfish and bitchy, because he seemed to be like that as well.
"What brings you out?" She asked after a slight pause. He didn't seem the type to hang around shopping centers. She looked at him closely for a second, as if searching for clues to his presence. Thank god there was none of that almost magnetic pull she'd felt around the demon....obviously the situation wasn't as desperate as she'd at first feared. It was a isolated problem.
Her thoughts ran back over the night at the waterfall and she narrowed her eyes slightly, as she tried to think about her next move. Should she do anything at all? It was just so annoying, she hadn't felt normal since she'd met the him. Normally she exuded a quiet confidence that sometimes bordered on arrogance. But she was cautious as well...an observer. Never had she felt so off balance or behaved so recklessly.....
Snapping back to reality, she realized that Shamus was probably wondering why she looked so dreamy, and she didn't want to talk about it, at all, or be on the end of any sharp comments.
