Aariana payed the two dollars to enter the amusement park. Taking one look at the young woman behind the booth, the first thing the humans saw was her purple contacts. But the first thing Ari saw was the fact that she was a witch, and that the purple was her natural color. It calmed her a bit. Ari gave a small nod as the woman acknowledged her, then walked, hands in her sweater pockets, aimlessly around. It was twilight. The sun was in the process of setting, and the sky was a dark orange-red, slowly turning a light purple. The hot muggy weather of the daytime had dropped down into the fifties and now it was rather chilly outside.
It's been a few days since the breakup, and drama, between Jackson, herself, and the other woman Camille. She hadn't seen or heard from him since, which was as much good as it was torturous. All she wanted was to be over him. To stop thinking about him for one second, to forget the past few months she'd spent with him. But damn, it was so hard. It was hard not to be depressed, or to hate other people for it. Starting with those freaking humans. For the first time, Ari was feeling hate. All she wanted to do was bring pain to those weak spineless humans..
Sighing, she pulled her iPod out of her sweater pocket and put the buds in her ears. Music was something that made her feel better. The song "Tonight Tonight" came on. A smile formed on her lips as she turned the volume all the way up. She just walked along, bopping her head to the music, enjoying herself for the first time since the breakup. As the sky darkened, more and more people came to the amusement park. For some reason, it was always more fun at night! The bright blinking lights of the rides shone down on everyone below, and it was amazingly beautiful.
The carnival workers hollered and yelled, trying to persuade her to play the games. She just grinned slightly, wondering if they realized she couldn't hear them. She eyed a cute pink teddy bear, but kept walking. She was absolutely horrid at those games, so there was no way she'd win it. Still bopping her head to the music, she began to murmur the lyrics out loud. "Woke up with a strange tattoo, don't know where I got it, got no money it my pocket, and it kinda looks just like you." Turning the corner, she yelped surprisedly, which cut off her singing, as she found herself colliding with another person.

Dylan had been sitting on a bench for a while, just watching people enjoy random rides and food as he just found the idea rather ridiculous. Although, part of him imagined he would enjoy the thrill and the height off the ground so that he could get away from his situation. He wondered if he would be ever able to be free from the invisible chains that bound him to Dahlia. He just watched hundreds of people pass him by as he just watched them, realizing how many different types of people existed as opposed to his one sided cave that Dahlia had kept him hidden away in.
The warmth that once surrounded him about thirty minutes ago faded to something much colder and sent chills down his spine, the hair on his neck standing up. He did not want to feel anything right now and he knew that it was killing Owen that he had been away, but it was better to be sketchy right now. He did not want to build a relationship that he would inevitably break because once Dahlia found him, he was not sure what she would adjust this time, but he was positive it might involve something so strong that he would never be able to find an escape.
He just flicked up the hood on his black hoodie, grasping his ipod and putting the ear buds in. He just flipped through the songs as he chose Black Dahlia by Hollywood Undead and a smirk went to his lips as he thoroughly enjoyed the song, but the title was simply ironic. This song used to only encourage the hatred and the anger that filled him upon hearing her name, but eventually she would regret doing anything horrible to him. Now he was becoming rather bored by the people that passed, most of them nothing new to what he had seen ten minutes ago.
He stood up and just began to walk, the music compelling his feet to move at a quicker pace, his eyes intensifying and he just took in the smell as he used some of his werewolf sense right now. They were under his control now that he had gotten plenty of rest and food to sustain his body. His fingers tucked away into his pockets as he just turned the corner, his hands coming out of his pockets as he collided with a girl. She had been singing and then yelped upon walking into him. He just automatically grabbed her arms gently to steady them both in a sense, “Are you okay?” He asked her, his blue eyes finding hers, some strands of his straight black hair shadowing his eyes.

For a moment, Ari didn't know what to say. She was not shy in the least way, but right now she felt like the biggest dunce in the world. Her bright red hair fell in her face as she looked at the ground for a moment. Well, just the fact that he saw her meant that he wasn't just a normal human. He knew of faeries. Now it was just to figure out how exactly he knew. What was he..? Ari moved her hair from her face, tucking a long strand of red behind her ear and looking up at him. "I'm alright." She said, arching her eyebrows and giving him a concerned look. Her eyes instantly locked on his amazing blue eyes. They were so.. so bright! Ari had never seen eyes that bright. "I'm so sorry, I should've payed attention better." She started babbling nervously, as she shook her head at her clumsiness, then steadying herself. People were watching as they walked by. Her guess was that they couldn't see her, and therefor this boy probably looked crazy. She hadn't even realized that one of her ear buds had fallen out, which was one of her biggest pet peeves. Ari hated the feeling of only hearing something in one ear. Finally realizing, she took both ear plugs out of her ear, pulled out her ipod and wrapped it up, shut it off and put it in her pocket. The previous song was still playing in her head, bouncing around with the other million thoughts that also occupied the vacant space. She looked on the ground to see if she dropped her phone out of her pocket, and when she didn't see it, she was content with the idea that she still had it in her pocket. "I'm Aariana." She said, flicking her head to move her hair behind her shoulder. In usual Ari fashion, she enthusiastically stuck her hand out to give him a handshake. Manners, to her, were a must, and it would be hypocritical of her to not use her own, so she always did!

Dylan just gazed down at her intently as she responded with a simple answer and he nodded, dropping his hands after a second or two. He should have been more careful about turning corners and just walking so quickly. He held back a sigh, unsure of what to say, but just said with a simple, “That’s good.” He just finally looked at her, truly looked at her, her beautiful long red hair, her endearing brown eyes, her thin, pale expression. She was so small and it reminded of himself because he was very thin, but he was also slightly muscular. She was a small girl, but definitely beautiful and he just barely heard her words before he caught them.
“Don’t be, I think it was more my fault,” he said as he saw her ear bud hanging lose before she simply just wrapped them around her ipod and put it in her pocket. That was when he realized he still had his headphones in and he did the same, feeling slightly rude for talking to her while listening to music. Although he had been ignoring the music completely, just captured by the girl in front of him which only made him look away for merely a moment. There was another thing that he felt like he was rude about. He just looked into her eyes. If there was something he learned now was to look a girl in the eyes instead of the rest of her because it was a shallow thing to do to check a woman out. There was something disrespectful and violating about staring at someone else like that.
So her name was Aariana and he was about to respond, but for a second it was like his name slipped his mind, but he simply took her hand. “I’m Dylan, it’s a pleasure to meet you,” he said, leaning down and kissing her hand ever so gently, smiling up at her, one of his hands having gone behind his back. The action seemed so natural and he hoped she would not find it creepy because he literally could not think through what he was doing right now.

Ari had to use all her self control to keep her mouth from falling open. He just kissed her hand. She was surprised, but in a good way. It was unexpected, but she was so glad he did it. She loved the chivalry. That was probably one of the main reasons she decided to date Jackson. Her thoughts darkened momentarily at his name, but she pushed the feelings and the thought of him back. Back into the deep, dark closet in the back of her mind, filled with things she no longer wished to think of, locked the door, and threw away the key. She, instead thought of how Dylan just kissed her hand. It was so cute. It also made her blush, turning her pale cheeks a deep scarlett color. She hoped that the darkness of the light, and the rainbow colors of the the amusement park around them hid her blush. She allowed a slightly embarassed, but cute, smile to come to her lips. The dimples appeared on her cheeks as she smiled and looked at the ground, much like the reaction you would get if you told a little girl she was pretty.
"So.." She said, for a moment not knowing what else to follow it with. "Are you here by yourself?" Ari asked curiously. She looked around, but saw no one who appeared to be with him. If he was with people, they'd most likely be stopped somewhere waiting for him to continue on his way. But everyone was bustling by, caught up in their merriment. The breeze blew a few strands of hair in her face, but she flicked it away once more as she looked at him. His eyes were so freaking amazing. She watched his movements carefully, searching for some hint of what supernatural he was, as her mind raced with thoughts. The mental encyclopedia of all the supernaturals were being scanned right now, as she tried to remember some traits of each of them. After a second, she shrugged it off, deciding to let it go for the moment. Aariana looked in his eyes, contentedly waiting for his answer to her question.

Dylan watched her smile as he kissed her hand and his smile only widened, finding her incredibly adorable as he saw her dimples. He just slowly released her hand as she asked the question and he was indeed alone. “Not anymore,” he said smiling as he just kept his eyes locked on hers because he simply could not look away. He could tell she was studying him, her eyes searching for something, but he had to know that there was something different about her. There was just this air around her that made him sense what she was, but he was not that experienced with tracing scents to what they were. It was almost bittersweet as he just gazed at her beautiful face, his fingers brushing to move some strands of hair out of the way as he just want to keep looking in her eyes. That’s when it clicked, she was a faerie and suddenly he could look away from her.
Faeries were indeed mischievous creatures and something in him hoped that she had not been trying to do that to him. Maybe there was nothing going on at all, but he found this particularly odd. He remembered a book on all of the species because Dahlia had had him read every book in her library which was rather large, but when you had been placed in a room with nothing else to do but stare at the walls and sleep, reading was the only other options. He had known quite well what type of creatures they were, but he would not judge them because there were pros and cons to what he was as well. Anyone who was a supernatural was bottom line a monster, but it was who you were that could contradict the monster within and to not let it control your actions.

His comment brought another smile to her lips. He was just so cute! For the very short time that they'd been talking, Ari didn't think of Jackson once. But it was unavoidable, she thought as he once again popped into her mind. Obviously she missed him. No wait, not him. She didn't miss him, per say, she missed having a relationship. She missed having someone by her side who she could call her own. The moment after the breakup, she promised herself no more love. No more boyfriends, and even no more flirting. But clearly that was a promise being broken, because if she kept being in Dylan's presence, she was definitely going to flirt. In her mind, she was at a virtual crossroads here.
She could end the conversation, play it safe, and stay true to her promise. Or, she could hang out with him for a bit, flirt with him, and possibly risk getting blown off, and therefor hurt again. It seemed like a huge decision for a second, but then, without any difficulty, she made her decision. "Can we keep walking?" Aariana asked, raising both of her eyebrows curiously. She slowly took a side step to see if he would agree to go. She really hoped he would. "I mean.. if you wanna hangout for a bit.." A small stutter was heard on her finishing statement. She wasn't exactly a professional on how to ask guys to hang out. Usually they did all the asking.
She had to admit, she felt kind of stupid. Being new at the whole asking people to hang out thing, and plus, her confidence wasn't exactly at an all time high at the moment. The smell of fried dough and other amusement park sweets floated toward her and made her mouth water. She could always look on the bright side. If he rejected her offer, she could always go eat. Yeah, and get fat, she thought sarcastically to herself. Her thoughts went in circles, a never ending pattern of ideas that were all generally the same. Now she was back to base one- hoping he wouldn't reject her offer. Snapping out of her little daydream, she looked back up at him, a hopeful expression on her face. She watched his eyes, and how the ever changing rainbow lights of the amusement park rides around them cast a different color, mixing it with his pretty baby blues.

Dylan heard her request and could not help but want to continue on a walk with her. He really had no where to be and he knew Owen would understand if his reason for not being home was to make some new friends. Dylan needed this because he had never had a life like Owen had which was a healthier and more normal life. Of course he would never have a completely normal life because that came with the territory of being a werewolf or any supernatural creature, but this was one of the more normal things in life: companionship. Without this simple factor in life, you felt alone like there was no one to stand by you when you needed it most. For a full 22 years of his life, he had lived without that and there were people in his life already.
He was about to say of course when she stuttered and he just smiled as he stepped aside slightly with her and gestured forward. “My lady…” he said with a smile as he just loved being charming because that just seemed to be part of his personality. “So why are you here by yourself?” He asked her, eyeing her for a moment, figuring that she appeared to be the type to have quite a few friends with her wherever she went, but maybe something was wrong. He certainly hoped she would be open with him, but if she refused to talk about it, he would not pry any further. They just walked at a relaxing pace, their hands nearly brushing and he was quite aware of it. There was an odd feeling in the pit of the stomach and part of him knew that she was quite attractive. He just was not sure how quite to act, but so far he seemed to be quite charming, but knowing how to impress women was not exactly his strong suit, or so he thought.
“Are you hungry, Aariana? If you are, I could pay. I haven’t really eaten anything today,” he smiled sheepishly as his stomach growled slightly and he just blushed at the noise. This was a new thing, being embarrassed in front of a girl. He felt warmth at his cheeks and he just looked down at his feet at the moment, his hair falling over his face slightly, hoping she would not catch his small sign of embarrassment.

Aariana smiled at his action, bringing yet another blush to her cheeks. With a slight nod, she started walking, at a comfortable pace. She looked from him, to the ground, a smile still lingering on her lips. But then he asked why she was here alone, and her smile dropped a bit. Her eyebrows ruffled, giving her an expression of concentration. "Well I just.. got out a relationship." She stated simply. If she said that a few days ago, she would've started bawling her eyes out. But now, she was fine. She accepted the fact that her and Jackson were done, and that she was way too good for him. "So, I didn't really have anyone to come with." She added with a shrug.
"Are you hungry, Aariana? If you are, I could pay. I havn't really eaten anything today."
For a moment she wondered if she was supposed to be like other girls. The girls who never ate in front of a date or even their friends. The ones who, if they did eat, they ate like a bird and basically starved themselves. She was never like that. She didn't really care who she ate in front of, and for a moment she wondered if that made her wrong or rude? But she, she shrugged again. "I could eat." Aariana stated giving another small grin. "But you really don't have to pay, I have money." She added, with a small laugh.
The feeling of pure closeness caused butterflies in her stomach, something she hadn't felt in a long time. She liked it, even though it made her nervous as hell. She wasn't going to lie, she thought Dylan was so cute. And the fact that he accepted her offer, and that they were hanging out made her all giddy inside.

Dylan frowned slightly as she said she just got out of a relationship, although her words did not seem to carry any emotion so he wondered if she was alright. “Are you alright?” He asked her genuinely as he just gazed at her momentarily because she seemed fine, but then again some people were particularly good at hiding how they truly felt. As she said that last line, he just nodded and smiled wide, “Well, now you have someone,” he said as he just continued to watch where he was going.
She seemed to consider something and he was not sure if it was the food or him, but he hoped it was just the food because the idea of her thinking of him made him nervous. Then when she said that she wanted something, he smiled, objecting to her other response, “No! I will pay. It’s really no big deal,” he said as he just smiled, laughing softly with her. The laughter made his stomach ease a bit at the thought of her because he was still trying to sort out how to act around her.
Still, he continued to feel their hands and arms brush every so often as they kept the same pace, quite in sync with each other as it made his stomach knot once more. “So what type of food do you like? I really don’t have a preference because I will eat most things,” he said as he just glanced around to some of the random food areas, wondering what she was interested in more than anything. Part of him wanted to interest her and even more so surprise her, but he was not even sure how.

Ari smiled softly at him, her cheeks going rosy pink once more at his tone of concern. Here she was walking with someone she just met, yet he was making it seem like they'd been friends forever with the amount of care in his voice. "Yeah, I'm fine." She confirmed, nodding her head making her red hair bounce with her movements. And her smile grew even more when he said she had someone. Words seemed to escape her at that moment, and all she could do was grin and mumble a small "Mhmm!" Her eyebrows raised in an amused manner as he argued about paying. She really didn't like people paying for her, but if he insisted, then she wouldn't say no. "Okay, and umm.."A look of slight concentration was on her face as she looked around at all the food vendors. At first, her heart was set on getting some fried dough. She hated the stuff- it was so bad for your body. It was loaded with fat and fried in grease then loaded with sugar, which equaled a heart attack on a plate. But then the bright pink and blue caught her eye.
"Oh, cotton candy!" She exclaimed, her eyes getting wide with excitement. Ari couldn't believe that she forgot the classic amusement park treat. Sometimes she liked to call it candy floss, which she heard a few people say before, but no matter what she called it, she was still a million percent sure that she loved the stuff. She was, in some ways, like a small child, the way she got so excited over the simplest things. "Do you like cotton candy?" Ari asked, tilting her head to the side slightly as she locked her gaze back on Dylan. She glanced over to the cotton candy vendor, and when they approached it she slowed slightly. "Pink, please."She said to Dylan, giving him a small cute smile, her voice small with a slight hint of embarrassment for asking for things. But hey, he offered. Turning to look at the vendor, she watched him spin the sugar as it eventually turned into pink strings, much resembling the look of pulled cotton, where she assumed the name was derived from.

Dylan only snickered softly when she seemed to get so excited over cotton candy, finding it very cute. She was like a small child, only wanting the simple in life and that was what made her the happiest. He could use simple in his life for a while and he found her only becoming more addicting like a drug. “I’ve never had it,” he said, his eyebrows furrowing slightly as he truly had not had it, but then again he did not have a lot of things to begin with until he met Owen. He paid for the cotton candy and looked at the fluffy pink cloud-like mess. “Hmmm, this looks interesting,” he said as he watched her tear a piece off and eat it, raising an eyebrow, finding it slightly intimidating. He just took a piece after a moment, tasting it and his eyes widening at how delicious it was. “Oh my god, this is the best thing ever!” He exclaimed, then blushed slightly as someone looked over at him and he just hurried past with Aariana. “Oops,” he said, grinning innocently.

Aariana's eyes widened once more when Dylan said he hadn't had cotton candy before, but this time they widened out of surprise. "Really?!" She asked, almost not believing him. She found it odd sometimes the things people haven't had or done, especially when it's things she grew up doing on an almost daily basis. She watched him take some, a grin of anticipation on her face as she waited to see his reaction. Honestly, if he didn't like it then she would be a bit disappointed since she found it so amazing. When he exclaimed how great it was, she laughed out loud. "I know! It's so awesome!" Ari agreed as she tore off another chunk of the sticky strings and popped it into her mouth. The sugary treat instantly started to melt away as it made contact with her saliva. She happily munched away on the cotton candy, holding it to the side a bit so Dylan could have some too.
In between taking bites of the candy floss, she looked around. Ari loved people watching, especially in such a fun place. You could see all the interesting people, how every single one of them were different in more than one way. Looks, movements, style choices. Then you had the flashing lights of all the rides. The music that differed with each ride, like the carousel had up beast classical type music, like something you'd hear when you opened an old fashioned trinket box. And some of the faster, more adrenaline pumping rides had fast, loud, and crazy music. Then you had the smells of all the food mixed with the smell of the ocean, since the beach was a short walk down the rode.
Ari looked down for a second, noticing her shoe was untied. Sighing lightly, she handed Dylan the cotton candy. "Can you hold this for a sec? My shoe's untied.." She said, moving a few steps to the side to sit on a bench. She quickly bent over and tied her shoe, and then sat back against the bench. Then she realized she kind of liked sitting, and just wanted to chill out for one moment. Ari moved over on the bench and patted the empty space next to her. "Can I ask you something?" She asked Dylan, tilting her head to the side again. She had enough of wondering what he was. She figured she'd just ask. "What are you?" She finished. Then she realized that sounded a little odd so she'd better clarify. "You can see me. So you're not just a normal human. What're you?" Aariana clarified. She hoped that her blunt question wouldn't throw him off or scare him away, but she just had to know the answer. She narrowed her dark eyes, studying him once more. Like before, she saw no obvious traits of anything, and her gaze kept getting pulled back to his eyes. Ari then realized he was still holding her cotton candy. Feeling rude, she held out her hand to take it back, blushing lightly for having him hold it for longer than nessecery.

Dylan laughed at her reaction to him not experiencing having cotton candy and he just nodded. “Never had it, but then again, I had a weird childhood,” he said not going into any further detail, hoping she would avoid asking him about it. She was so adorable getting so excited over something rather small and it was something he could never get over or get used to. He had a feeling he would find it adorable every time. They just seemed to have a moment of silence between them as he just walked next to her, it feeling like he had walked with her a thousand times before. He was falling for this girl so fast that he wondered if he would catch himself and he was not even sure if this fact was sinking in even the slightest bit, but eventually it would hit him like a brick.
Dylan jumped back to the present as she seemed to come across a shoe dilemma and he was about to bend down and tie it for her but she just handed him the cotton candy and he gladly took it from her. They seemed to walk over to a bench and just relax for a moment as he just waited until she was done, but then she seemed to like the idea of just taking a breather for a moment. He sat down happily as she just asked him questions, nodding. Her following question he understood right away what she meant, but she just wanted to make sure and he just studied her wondering how she knew he was not normal, but perhaps he had that essence about him.
“I’m a werewolf,” he lowered his voice just in case someone had randomly decided to drop in on their conversation as he just handed back her cotton candy and smiled, glad he could do something so simple for her. He scooted slightly closer as if to grab some cotton candy, as he did and felt the material dissolve slowly in his mouth as he just smiled. “You’re a faerie aren’t you?” He asked her, just reassuring himself on his guess from earlier. He thought he had been right, but he just wanted to make sure that she was not an immortal or something, but her scent and personality fed into the idea that she was a faerie. Each creature had a certain way about them and a familiar general scent.

Ari nodded simply, mulling it over in her brain. A werewolf. She never would've guessed. "I wouldnt've figured that out for the life of me." She admitted, grinning lightly. Another blush took over her cheeks as he moved closer to her. Jeeze, she thought to herself, all he's doing it getting some cotton candy. Calm yourself. But as much as she told her self to steady the reins and stop acting like such a little schoolgirl who got her first crush, she couldn't. "Yeah." She said, flashing a smile. She was glad to be a faerie. Even though they were nothing like the mythical story book fantasy faeries that parents told their children, it still made her feel awesome to be able to say she was one. Even if they had a reputation among the supernatural world of being dark, sneaky, and just pure evil. But she took pride in being able to say that she wasn't really that evil, that she was different.
She had absent mindedly been taking pieces of cotton candy since he handed it back, and looking down now she realized it was almost gone. For a split second the disappointment dressed her facial features, but a the roller coaster that was behind them whirled into action and roared by. The sudden noise made her jump, also making her squeak out of surprise. Aariana burst out laughing at her reaction and looked behind her, up at the tall roller coaster that was all lit up with colorful neon lights. "Whoa!" She breathed, watching the next roller coaster car go up, then roar down the drop. It went into a few spirals, then up and down a few more drops. Her eyes full of excitement, she turned back to Dylan. "Wanna go on it?" She asked, giddy with excitement.

Dylan smirked as she said she would have not figured that out and he had to tease her slightly, “So I don’t look like a werewolf? Hmm, are you trying to say I have to be all muscles and frisky to be a werewolf?” He looked at her, giving her an innocent, yet mischievous look. He had to admit that she did not seem much like the normal faerie, but then again he had not met many faeries. “You know you seem far to innocent to be a faerie,” he said, only smirking more as he let out a teasing tone. He took note of her giving the lack of cotton candy a grimace and he just simply said, “We can get some more later if you want.” He just gazed at her, and laughed as she jumped at the roller coaster behind her.
“Definitely want to,” he said, noticing her excitement and he just stood up, offering her his hand as he guided her to the line as it seemed longer, but it would give them time to talk. Once again, he held her hand and he did not notice it yet simply because it was so natural. “So, what type of guy would dump a beautiful girl like you, Aariana? I still can’t wrap my thoughts around it. It was obviously someone who did not deserve you,” he said as he squeezed her hand softly, just saying what came to mind as he realized that he was holding her hand finally and just smiled softly as he gazed down at her, his long bangs shadowing his eyes as he just pushed his bangs to the side.
