What An Odd Existance Naussica just hated the way cigarettes smelt. If it was a tiny amount, she would fine with it. But, at this moment, she having a man huff his cigarette smoke into her face while he tried to lure her to his bed. Why oh why did she go into this bar? Oh yeah, because she is twenty one and has the right to a bit of wine when she feels like it. She was sitting at the bar, minding her own damn business when this young man-who might've been very attractive-came over with a bottle in his hand and a cigarette between his lips. Naussica figured, the best way to say no to sex is to be straight forward. Although, he wasn't giving her the chance to speak. He was babbling about taking her back to his house and all the positions- "Uh," She groaned, pressing her hand against his face and pushing him away from her. He must've been pretty drunk, since he didn't resist at all and slipped right onto the floor.
She stared at him for a moment and could've sworn he passed out, since he stopped talking and moving. Although, she could see his chest heaving up and down. "Gross." Naussica mumbled to herself. She took the last sip of her sweet wine and then left a small tip for the bartender. She could hear him shouting a thanks to her as she walked out the front door. The night was freezing, it was absolutely fantastic. She loved the freezing cold; it made her strangely warm inside. Perhaps, it was because she hated always feeling like her insides were on fire. Was it the way she was born, or because she was... one of those. She had been told, many times, there were others out there, like her; different from the normal humans that surrounded them. She had always known that in this world, there existed more demons like herself and her lost parents. She smiled to herself, kicking an old newspaper off her foot, that had been blown over by the strong wind that suddenly picked up. What an odd existance.

Bored, bored, bored. Why was he always bored? Weren't there enough women in this town to keep him amused? Sure, but even a womanizer like Jossur Cain got bored of the game. Enough was enough and he needed something else to do. Of course, Azrael was waiting at home and she needed to be fed, but Joss figured that his pretty little kitty cat could wait a while longer. She was generally good at that game. No Joss had taken to the streets once more to try and find a good game to play. He wasn't up for sleeping with anyone, just some interesting conversation. That was honestly a first. In all of his existence, had he ever just wanted someone to talk to? The demon shoved his hands in the back pockets of his dark wash jeans and walked on. He knew these streets backwards and forwards by now. He'd walked them enough...
Get kicked out by one of his lovers? Walk the streets. Win or lose a fight? Walk the streets. Decide he was bored and need to find something to do? Well, you get the picture. The night was cold, but Joss hardly recognized it. Never did nowadays. No reason to when he wasn't pretending to be human. He could deal with temperature anyway he wanted to, damn it! He was a demon, born and proud. None of that weak former angel shit. Demon, through and through, that was him. A smirk twisted his lips as the blue eyed demon walked on. He'd walked this beat before, laps around the club. He could usually find someone remotely interesting in these parts, so long as they weren't human. God, those wastes of space bothered him so. Why couldn't they just disappear The world would be a much better place without their filth.
Sighing to the stars, Joss looked down at his shoes. Seemed tonight was a bust. Azzie, it was then. Pretty kitty needed some attention. he'd been out too much lately. Just as he was going to turn and head home, the demon caught a glimpse of red and he stopped. Had that been a woman? Rather pretty one at that. What was she doing outside by herself? Circling back around, Joss strode right up to her. Easy enough. He had no shame. "Hey there. Whatcha doing outside by yourself? Don't you know that's not safe in this part of town."

What An Odd Existance The cold wind blew against her skin. Naussica was dressed in a plain, black hoodie and very skinny, black jeans. She had her waiste length hair hanging out of her hoodie and over her left shoulder. Her red eyes appeared black under the darkness of the light. Although, when she looked up at the moon, the light from the lamps in the streets shined off her eyes, making the red alluminate. Was it instinct when someone walked by and she felt like something was different about them? Her parents always warned her of the other creatures that existed on Earth with the humans, especially the other demons. She almost felt like, in this city, things were different.
A voice caught her attention and she blinked slowly. She almost couldn't believe it, she was already being faced by another man. Although, she couldn't judge too quickly, perhaps, there was a bit more to it than trying to score some. Right? She turned to the man, he had to be around her age, maybe a bit older. "I can take care." -was the first thing out of her mouth. Thank God this wasn't Germany, she would probably have to beat him up, ditch his body in the alley, and leave. Things were different here, she had often become aware of. She loved it here; she loved the freedom of not being persued by wierdos.
"You don't need to worry about me." That is, assuming it was his intentions. She almost couldn't lay her finger on it, this man seemed different. It was something she felt on the inside; something unexplainable. He had to be different; but how could she be sure. Perhaps, she was going insane, plain and simple.

The smirk that had twisted Joss' lips faded into nothingess for a moment as he considered. Had she really just dismissed him like that? Oh,now his curiosity was definitely piqued. This woman, whoever she was, was going to have to put up with him for a while now. When Joss got interested in something, he tended to hang around until the interest waned. That could be almost instantly or many years down the road, depending on the situation and the item in question. That seemed to be a near fatal flaw of his. Damned curiosity. Made him say the stupidest things and get into a lot of trouble, but it had certainly lead to some good too. Rocking back and forth on the balls of his feet, Joss grinned a trickster's grin. "I don't? That's new. Are you sure you don't need someone to walk you home? There are boogey men on these streets for sure. They can get you when you're not looking."
Of course, he might actually be one of the aforementioned boogey men. Didn't mean he couldn't try and be helpful if he wanted to. Sure, he got into way too many fights and generally caused trouble. If he wanted to be a gentleman and walk a lady home, why couldn't he? That was within his nature somewhere, even if it happened to be buried down very, very deep. There was that one girl who.... No, wait. She disappeared. How about that one who... Nope, ran screaming when she found out he was a demon. Then that who... Again, negative. She'd turned out to be really crazy and came after him with a knife. Well, there was a first time for everything, he supposed, even being nice.
"It really isn't safe." He prodded again, blue eyes almost seeming to glow in the moonlight. "Particularly if you left some jerk in there. He might try to follow you home. Come on, walk with me. I'll make sure you get home safe." Joss offered his arm like the perfect gentleman and waited. Well, this was interesting and different if nothing else. That was for sure.

What An Odd Existance She didn't like the look on his face, it was like curiosity. It wasn't always good when someone took an interest in her; didn't always end well. She had to be cautious, you can't trust anyone. Boogymen? Seriously? She smirked a bit, mentally thinking, "I'm far worse than any boogymen, I promise." What could be worse than her? She was a demon; a monster spawned from hell. She was meant to be a devourer of souls. What could be worse than her?
She sighed, clearly irritated. She didn't live here, she could make up some neighborhood and pretend to be from there, couldn't she? He had insisted so much, perhaps he had yet to become aware of her red eyes; that would scare anyone away, she best keep it secret, though. "If you insist," She said eventually. She turned her eyes away from him, seeing that odd man from earlier stagger out of the bar. Deciding she would be best leaving soon, she turned and began walking across the street to the other side, then cut into a more busy, late night shopping district, expecting the man to follow her. "Do I get to know your name? Seeing as you are so persistant."
The street she turned down was very busy; it was swarming with lots of people; even though it was late. She could smell food from many carts that people had set up to cook food quick and sell it quick. She could see an Asian man selling Ebi Fry and became tempted to buy one; she loved meat, the smell was intoxicating.

Joss was left standing at the curb like an idiot, with his arm outstretched. The demon blinked once then again, totally unsure how to shake off the shock that pervaded his mind. Had she just left him there? Sure, she had agreed to be walked home, but only because he'd been persistent. His trademark charm didn't seem to be working and that was vaguely alarming. What would he be without his charm? That was a frightening thought. Shaking himself out of his mini reverie, Joss followed after the girl with a pep in his step. he'd find the trick to get her attention. It just might take a little while. He was up for the challenge anyway. This girl had spunk and he liked that. "My name's Jossur. You can call me Joss, though. And yours?" It was a simple question, to be sure, but he was curious.
What was it about this girl that was so different? The yes screamed fellow demon. He'd seen a number of his own kind who had red eyes, though an equal number had normal colored eyes as he did. It seemed to be split even, so he couldn't quite use that as justification. What else could give her red eyes? ....vampire? The attitude fit. Deciding to be slightly more careful, Joss matched his pace to hers. "are you new to Manuka then? I could show you around if you wanted. I know the area pretty well." Between his women and his business deals, Joss probably had covered most of the city on foot, double that in cars. Funny how that worked out.
Huh. It seemed that the streets were lined with people tonight. Wondering vaguely if there was some kind of festival or another human gathering, Joss noticed that his new companion seemed to be staring rather longingly at a particular cart. "You hungry?"

What An Odd Existance Naussica thought for a moment. Should she give him her real name? Well, it wasn't really necessary to lie, was it? She was a traveler, she went from town to town and had no real reasons to lie. Besides, she wasn't a wanted felon or anything like that; just cautious. "My name's Naussica," She said to the man; processing his name so that she wouldn't forget. She only hoped her parents didn't name her from some demon in the bible; since she had no idea what her name meant.
"I am new, but I don't need a tour, I have plenty of time to wander about on my own." She said in reference to his offer. "Trying to ask me out on a date, are we?" She teased. Naussica didn't like much that he noticed her desire to eat-well, devour. Didn't matter, she could handle it herself. She pulled out her wallet and got in line for the Ebi Fry. "Don't start with a speech about how a gentleman buys things for a girl; it's not necessary. Do you want one?" She had the money and kindness to offer someone else a snack. After all, it was only a dollar for a single, large shrimp with a stick up one end. She was prepared for him to try and refuse her offering, most men would; but who knew. She tried not to judge.
Perhaps, she could scare him away but unhinging her bottom jaw and swallowing the shrimp whole like she accidentally did in a park once when she was four. Luckily, the person who saw was also four and wouldn't be believed. She was tempted, but it would probably be better if she didn't.

Joss grinned. Interesting name for an interesting girl. Exactly how it should be. "I am not trying to ask you on a date, Miss Naussica. I'm just trying to help out a fellow...... wanderer. A fellow wanderer." He'd almost gone and said too much. That wouldn't have been pleasant. That's just what he needed. The options were simply if he accidentally let it slip he was a demon. Either she'd run screaming or attack him. That tended to be how it worked. Even other demons didn't like demons. Strange alliances, strange stirrings. Shrugging easily, Joss tried not to react too violently to her offer to pay. Alright, that threw him for a loop, but he'd go with it if it she was insistent.
"Sure, I could go for a snack. Won't fight you if you wanna pay. Free food is good food. Thanks." While waiting for his skewer, Joss glanced around them. "Lovely out, ain't it? Even for a city. Course, I know some places that have this view beat any day, but this isn't at all bad to see day in and day out. What do you think? You seen something better?" She seemed pretty content in that fact that she was a traveler and new to the city. Might as well play along with it.
Upon receiving his skewer, Joss waited for her to get hers. lady first, then he'd eat. The shrimp smelled great, but human food was sometimes odd. He could observe, see if she got sick. Animal instinct to survive. Blue eyes shifted ever so quickly to the girl beside him then back straight ahead. It was so strange, but he'd never met another demon with red eyes. All the others he knew in manuka had normal eyes. Like Noah. Chuckling under his breath at the thought of his "mentor", Joss spoke. "You've got really nifty eyes, you know... Not often do you see that color." Sure, he was telling the truth but just being REALLY nonspecific about it.

She became a bit suspicious at his words; fellow wanderer. It almost seemed like a pause, as though he intended to say something else. But, she could always be wrong. Once it was her turn in line, she ordered to Ebi Fry. Within' a few minutes, the man pulled out two large shrimp, breaded and fried, with a skewer through them. She payed the man and handed Jossur his food. She had enough money to go around; since she especially didn't live anywhere.
"Yeah, the cold is always lovely," She said, taking a massive bite from her fried shrimp. It was unlady-like, but also bizarre. She loved to eat fruits, like a normal herbivore, but she could not deny that she needed meat regularily. Shrimp was one of those. She would never forget the first day she ate meat that wasn't bought from the store. She was sixteen and literally attacked a bird that was flying off a tree. She ate it there and then and was happy with it. She even caught some fish in the local rivers before she visited the city. She was fine with eating things raw, even if she preferred them cooked.
Before she knew it, her shrimp was long gone, and she was holding a stick with teeth marks. She may of had normal looking teeth, but they were very strong and usually became sharp whenever she needed them be. Then, he brought up her eyes. She tossed her stick in the trashcan near her and began walking down the street, expecting him to follow her. "They're.... 'normal' where I come from." She doubted that he was different-the chances of her meeting another demon were too slim.
"I can feel the pressure It's getting closer now We're better off without you"

Such a strange, strange girl. Joss had noticed that she hadn't wanted his help, had flat out ignored him several times, insisted on buying him food, and was generally a bit rude. Although he was a bit put off by the fact that she wasn't swooning over him, the demon knew a challenge when he saw one. He wasn't going to let this chance for a special bit of fun to pass him by without a fight. How much fun would t be to get her to submit? Quite a lot, he decided with a grin. THis meant that he needed to be extra polite and try to be as charming a possible. If that didn't work, he had other options. That was the go-to, however. Charm the pants off of any girl he wanted, quite literally.
A smirk twisted his lips when she noted that her eyes were common where she came from. Did his sharp little playmate not realize that he was also a demon? Time for a game. "Oh really? Where's that? I suppose a place where such eyes are common must be terribly interesting. No way in HELL you'll tell me where?" One eyebrow was quirked in a question that he hadn't spoken, laughter almost bubbling forth. God, if she hadn't even learned to identify other demons on sight, she had a long way to go if she was ever to be safe. This city was full of people who would hunt her and try to kill her. "Really, Miss Naussica. You should be more observant." Ever so briefly, his eyes flashed a shining black and Joss grinned evilly. "It would serve you to recognize your own kind."
Oh, this was just too rich. Did she really not see what was standing before her? He was born, sure, but a demon nonetheless. No less dangerous that originals, given that he'd had the right training. He could fight with the best of them, came up with ridiculously evil plans, and kicked the ever living crap out of humans whenever he got the chance. This was an easy life he'd set up here in Manuka and he could teach Naussica how to live it up demon style, if she'd let him. Not being creepy or anything like that, just one demon to another. Of course, if she happened to want to crawl into bed with him after it all was said and done, well... he wouldn't dream of denying a lady that sort of request, even if she didn't know currently that she'd want it later on.

Once he started changing his tone and his method of speaking, Naussica became even more alert than before. Was he trying to incline something? Her eyes scanned him, almost threateningly. It was as obvious as could be; he had found her out. She stood there for a moment and stared at him, unsure of what she could say. At first, she began to wonder if he had simply changed his mood, but then, his eyes... They changed to pitch black and it made her realize, he was indeed a demon. Perhaps, she had been foolish in not trying to sniff that out earlier. It was very possible that she felt too cocky because her parents were known as being the bringers of a forever change in the world; it made her feel stronger.
Her eyes narrowed at him, the red becoming brither before fading into a pitch black. Her nails grew sharp and her fangs extended slightly. "Am I supposed to be impressed?" She snarled. "There are many of us out there, and just as many who will never know about either of us. -and I am confident that you and I are not of the same." Her eyes softened as she stood her ground and watched him carefully. Who cared if they were in a public place? Who's to say he won't go out and attack her right then and there? She had every reason to believe so.

Joss smirked. It was interesting that she had reacts so violently to such an innocuous realization. Sure, he was taking great pleasure in watching her reaction, but that didn't mean it was dangerous. He was just pointing out that they were both demons. That wasn't such a bad thing was it? A shared bond, being the same type of creature. "No, you don't have to be impressed. Again, that wasn't the intent. I just think it's quite interesting that you didn't notice right out what I was. Didn't your parents teach you how to identify other demons? What if you needed help? We're supposed to help each other, remember? Of course, I'm just a nice guy so..." He laughed as he shoved his hands into the back pocket of his dark wash jeans.
His curiosity had been captured, however, when she mentioned that they weren't the same. She was obviously a demon. That was clear enough. What in the world did that mean then? Oh, now he just had to know. "You can't deny you're a demon. What do you mean that we're not the same. Both demons. You don't feel like an original, either, so that can't be it, either. Originals feel... darker, clearer than borns. And I already showed you what I am. The 'riginals can't do that little eye trick. While I'm at it, why /are/ your eyes red? Do you come from a particular region?"
How very strange. Every time it seemed that he had reached the stay of his welcome, a new bit of information caught his attention and kept him around. If things kept up like this, he was going to around for quite some time just to pick up some interesting tidbits. New information was always a particular lure for him.

She wondered what it exactly was that he was trying to get at. Maybe, he was just trying to push her buttons, or pick a fight with her. Her parents tried to teach her about other demons, but she knew that older demons could hide themselves better than she could. They also made sure that she knew how dangerous other demons could be. Of course, she wasn't a child anymore and didn't always obey them, but he gave her no reason to trust him; and she definitly wouldn't say that.
Then, he began to ask about her past and where she came from. Should she dare explain it to him? Naussica had no reason to fear or be ashamed of her parents, she saw them as people to idolize and admire. Although, not everyone would see them in that light. Should she care what he thought? "My parents were Lore and Sahara, the demons whos' battles would signal the end of the world and the beginning of the new world." Mentally, she added in the next part, "But, they both survived and here I am." It seemed rather unlikely that two demons destined for destruction could love eachother, in fact, the story seemed like something someone would make up-it was a ridiculous tale. "We may be the same creature, but we come from far different blood lines."

There was a moment of pure silence as the blue eyed demon contemplated her words. The story she referenced was probably the biggest piece of demon mythology every kid learned ever. Those two demons would meet, fight, and the world would end. If she was saying that those were her parents, Jossur didn't quite know how to deal with her. They were out in the open and he had accidentally stumbled upon a girl who was practically demon royalty. How did this even happen? It was something like madness. He didn't quite know how to react or what to do.He could say something... He could do something... Nothing seemed quite right, so he just stood and stared for a moment or two longer. "They're... your parents...? That's..." Joss had no words.
Instead of freaking out or doing anything dramatic, the demon just shoved his hands in his pockets. "Well then, Miss Naussica. Guess that makes you something like royalty, huh? Well, that's neat. Guess we are pretty different then. My parents were just normal originals. Cast out of heaven in the Rebellion and all. But yours... yours are special." He somehow managed to not sound like a total ass. Instead, awe seeped thru his tone and Joss was suddenly a lot nicer.
The night was different now. He was standing next to a demon legend, a girl who wasn't even supposed to exist. Somehow, that calmed him. Some people would freak out, but Jossur had always been amused by mythology and legends. She'd bought him a shrimp and he was walking her somewhere. "Imagine that. This night just got a whole lot more interesting. Funny how that happens, huh?" The blue eyed man gave Naussica a charming smile, but this time it wasn't faked. "I can't even believe this."

She wasn't always sure about how she should feel about her parents. They often told her that being proud was nothing to be ashamed of, although, they never really told her that she should be proud about them. Despite the fact that they were a pair of greatly symbolic demons. She thought about his words, calling her demon royalty in a sense. "They may of been special, but that doesn't mean I am... I am rather ordinary." She believed that; her parents were special, but she was just another living creature.
Naussica continued down the road until they were out of the busy district and were heading down a less occupied street. Some cars drove by every now and then, but it was mostly quiet. She wasn't sure if she could exactly pick out any building and claim to live there; she wondered if she should just tell him that she was wandering. Naussica didn't know what he would say to that and how it would go from there. She was curious as to how interesting she was now, seeing her parents came into the picture. She hadn't a clue where they were or if they were even still alive; even if she believed so. "Maybe you have a story for me now, seeing my life has been exposed?"
