Okay, so here we go. Mira is a mermaid and unlike her sister and all the other mermaids in the sea Mira is different. She doesn’t want to lure people into the water with her perfectly beautiful singing voice and drown them. No, she is actually the complete opposite. She loves humans and wishes she could be completely human herself. She spends more time on the land shopping for shoes and cute dresses then swimming around in the ocean. She lives in a house near the beach so if she ever wants to go for a swim she can. She will have a bath in her home and give her mermaid form a stretch but there is nothing like swimming in the ocean, especially being in human form for large amounts of time. She absolutely loves sun baking on the grass in her back yard. She is the happiest when the sun is shining and there isn’t a cloud in the sky. Many people down like going to the beach because of the sand, it gets into places that sand should never go and no matter how much you brush away the sand on your legs there always seems to be some there. Mira on the other hand loves sand she loves how it feels between her toes and you just never know what you might find hiding in the sand. Mira loves to kiss; she doesn’t know why but if she gets the urge to kiss and you happen to be the closest person to her be prepared to get a nice little surprise. Now who doesn’t just love puppies? Mira loves puppies so much she just goes to the mall to play with the puppies in the pet shop.

Now you would think being a Mermaid she would love water in all its forms but like mentioned before she isn’t like your normal homicidal merperson. She loves being in her human form and getting one single drop of water on her skins means bye-bye legs and hello tail and she hates that, so rain, and sprinklers and taps and the like are all on her naughty list. Mira is defiantly a dog person she can’t stand cats, she can’t stand to even look at them, and they are mean and selfish and up themselves, pure evil. She would kick at cat as fast as she would wrestle with a puppy. Mira isn’t a fan of thunderstorms either; there is just something about the flashing and booming that freaks her out to the max, it one of those times where she just wants to snuggle with someone. She is actually a lot like a puppy, they don’t like thunder either, and people would think she was a dog in another life. Mira hates smoking and drinking, she won’t judge a person that drinks and smokes and she won’t think of them any different but there would be no chance in hell you would catch her doing either of them. Now she hates green vegetables, she really doesn’t have a good reason why she just refuses to eat them. Birds are a big no, no as well; they are just freaky looking with their staring eyes and their loud chirping. No thanks she will pass on them as well they are defiantly on her naughty list, right there next to cats and alcohol. She isn’t picky she just has some self-respect.

There are a few things at Mira excels in, swimming of course because it in her blood, it’s like a second nature to her, she might go months and months without swimming but when she does it’s like she never left the ocean. Reading, well that is something she picked up from her dad, he always read to her when she was little and when he died she started to read all his books, he had a decent size study in the house where she grew up and she made her half way through his mini library. Now singing isn’t something she does a lot she might sing to herself whilst doing the house work or hanging the clothes out or sun baking in her back yard but she never sings in front of anyone as her voice can be hypnotizing. Running is something she does every day if it’s not raining of course, she can go for miles without becoming out of breath and she has amazing speed, she could be in the Olympics. Now when it comes to falling in love it happens all the time and she can’t help it she is just so desperate to give her heart to someone to love but she always seems to have it broken. She loves to shop and spend lots of money, she shouldn’t really but you know she just can help it. She loves children and wishes to have some of her own one day, their innocence was refreshing. She is defiantly a hopeless romantic and enjoys a good love story, one day she will have her own. If she can find someone that won’t step on her heart and throw it back at her.

Now some of the bad habits she had picked up, She hums all the time, it’s not quite singing but it makes up for it in the end. If there is a piece of paper and a pen around she is going to draw on it. She taps her fingers when she is tired the noise keeps her from dozing off. Mira hates small spaces, being a mermaid she is so used to having the entire ocean before her and being trapped in a small space freaks her out, she can even become a bit violent, which is not like her at all. Now her biggest fear is losing the one she loves, she feels that when she finally does fin someone that loves her they are going to get them stolen away from her. She would die inside if she could finally have someone to love and have them taken away from her. If she had one wish that would be completely human, there is nothing else in the world she would rather have, except maybe someone to love but if she had to choose it would be too human. She would be able to swim in a pool with friends and walk in the rain. Has there ever been something you have done that has haunted you and will continue to haunt you for the rest of your life? Well Mira has that problem, when she was younger she and her sister lured at man into the water and drowned him. Mira didn’t want to do it but she wanted her sister’s approval and love it was something she will regret for the rest of her life. Mira has always been different to most mermaids but this incident made her who she is today. Friendly.

So where to being with her history, as exciting as you might think it is it really isn’t but you asked for it. Mira’s parents were forced to marry; both their families had already decided that they were going to be together before they were even five years old. They were the best of friends growing up so it wasn’t a huge problem when they found out they didn’t have a choice but to marry each other. For the majority of their lives they spent under the sea, only venturing out onto the land if they absolutely had to. But that all changed when they got married, they left the ocean and started to build a life on the land. Her father got a job and her mother got a job and they brought a house and decided that they wanted children. They knew for a fact that they wanted two children and that one would be born the mermaid way and one would be born the human way. So her parents went back into the ocean and did what they had to do. Her mother produced an egg and her father fertilized it. He went back to the surface while her mother guarded the egg under water till it hatched. Waiting for a mermaid egg to hatch didn’t take as long as a human baby to be born. So before they knew it they had a little baby girl which was her sister Janaya. Her mother stayed with her under the water for a little while teaching her the ways of the mermaid and finally too her ashore to live as they did.

They taught her sister to read and write and to run and play but all she really wanted to do was swim under the sea and be a mermaid. Soon they gave into their young daughter and sold their house and brought another one closer to the sea so she could come and go in the ocean as she pleased. There was another couple of merfolk families’ close by and their children instantly became friends with Janaya. Teaching her all there was to be being a mermaid, and when all there is to know about being a mermaid is said, it is meant. She became evil luring people into the water to drown them. Mira’s parents where a little like that as well; so it wasn’t something that was looked upon badly. Soon her mother fell pregnant with her the human way, it was hard for her mother but technically she had only bared one child as the other grew outside of the womb. Finally nine months later Mira was born, as soon as she was out of the womb she was placed into a bath tub of ocean water and instantly grew a tail. Once she was dried off her legs grew back and that was pretty much how she stayed. She loved running around and playing, and occasionally she would swim in the ocean. All the other merfolk children made fun of her including her sister, the only friends she really had were the human children she played with a the park.

Her father taught her how to read and write and do all the things a normal human child did, he was glad he had one child that wanted to be different. The years went on and she and her sister got older and still she was picked on and all she really ever wanted was for her sister to like her and treat her like a sister not some nerdy kid in the playground. So one night she asked if she could go swimming for her sister and her friends and do whatever it was they did, being the devious bitch her sister was she agreed and tricked her into luring a poor man out into the deep waters. They all seduced him as mermaids did and in the end they killed him. As Mira watched the light leave his eyes and his body slowly sink to the bottom of the ocean she felt a small part of her die as well. She could have saved that man but she didn’t she let him drown and die. Forever she would regret it and forever she would hate her sister for putting her through such a thing. She was only fourteen year old at the time. Her sister was almost seventeen and had already lured forty seven men and woman to their watery graves. It wasn’t long after that did her sister move out of home and travel to distant seas with her friends, secretly Mira was glad she was gone. She learnt more and more things from her father and he encouraged her to do what her heart told her to do, be whoever she wanted to be.

Soon Mira turned eighteen years old and her mother and father asked her whether or not she wanted to stay living with them or if she was ready to go out into the world on her own. As much as she loved her parents and never wanted to leave them there was a part of her that wanted to get out there and explore all the things the world had to offer. She told then that she wanted to leave, but she wanted to stay close by so if she ever wanted to see them she could. Her father agreed to this and brought her a small two bedroom beach house a couple of houses down the beach, all she had to do was walk up the beach and she would be in her parents back yard in a few minutes. Everything was going exactly how she wanted it to go, until her mother came to her and told her that her father was dying and he had to leave, he wanted to die in the ocean so his body could become a part of the sea. After telling her father that she loved him and that she would always love him and admire him he slipped into the water and he was gone. It wasn’t long after that did her mother become sick, heartbroken that the love of her live was gone. She too leave the land and entered the water to become part of the sea and be with her husband. It was hard for Mira to deal with both her parents gone but she moved back into their house, she started working for her father’s company and for now she is doing ok, she sent word to her sister but she hasn’t heard back.
