Clink, clink, clink, clink...
Joey's focus was sharp, she barely blinked, and there was a small trickle of sweat starting at her brow. When she walked into the arcade, she set a limit of funds, and no matter what, would not spend more money that she had allotted herself, because she knew all too well how much money she could drop at an arcade if she gave herself the lee-way. It was a lot, and a lot more than she had at the moment, so she was doing her best to make it last. Indiana Jones pinball was relatively cheap, only fifty cents a game, which wasn't too rich for her blood. Nothing like Guitar Hero, where they wanted a dollar a song. Ludicrous. They don't even have 'Jukebox Hero,' which you'd think would be a given.
Clink, clink, clink... Joey did a little fist-pump in the air, only taking her deft fingers off the buttons for a split second when she locked in her third ball, which meant the Multi-Ball mode should be triggered soon, unless she had a stroke of bad luck and lost before she hit the back sensor to start up the next round. The silver ball went sliding easily down the middle, which she knew was certain death, but as any skilled gamer knew, sometimes, you had to counter fate with a little friendly nudge. She bumped the machine with her hip, which caused the silver ball to roll just slightly to the left, into the range of her paddle, and she sent it soaring toward the back sensor, and the machine started going nuts, racking up the points that she deserved. She expected the pinball machines to be more popular, and she sensed that there had been something of a line building behind the one she was playing on earlier, and she didn't like to be crowded, so she shot a warning over her shoulder that she'd take a while. Joey rarely ended up playing a game of pinball that lasted under fifteen minutes; it was part of the reason she liked the game so much, her fifty cents went a long way, and it was fun to boot.
The Multi-Ball mode began, and suddenly, Joey was a whirlwind of paddles and button-pressing. Right hand, left hand, both hands, left, left, right. Then, like a person caught in a downward spiral, one ball slipped through her paddles, then another, then, she forced herself to stay locked-in on the last ball, determined to turn this sinking ship around. Right hand, left hand, both hands, and then, the ball went straight down the middle. Joey tried the hip bump again, but this time, the machine didn't catch the ball in time, and it, too, went right between her paddles.
"Oh, you son of a---" Joey exclaimed loudly, curbing her last word, since there were children around, and parents that would probably be rather irritated with her for saying the words she wanted to say out of sheer frustration. "Fine, Indy. You win this round." Joey contemplated putting in another fifty cents, but then saw a blessed upon all blessed sights in an arcade: the air hockey table was vacant. She looked around, nobody seemed to be waiting on it; she could just... walk right over there and claim her spot. But, then there was the whole 'not having an opponent' thing. She sighed, slumping her shoulders ever so slightly. But then, a lightbulb happened: People come to an arcade to play games, Joey; surely someone will want to play air hockey. It's AIR HOCKEY. You just have to... get on out there and ask.
[/color] She looked around at her potential rivals: small children, nope. Frat boys? Hell to the nope. A girl who kind of looked like DDR was the only game she knew how to play? Nope thank you. Then, she saw a girl who was sitting at the food court inside the arcade who appeared to be texting on her cell phone. That seemed like strange behavior to Joey. The girl seemed approachable enough, even though she did have a bit of a hang-up when it came to initiating conversation with pretty girls, which this one definitely was. However, her feet started moving, and she followed, approaching the girl and greeting her with a sideways smile and a tiny little wave. Joey forced herself to find her voice. "You look like you could use a rousing game of air hockey. And I could use a partner. Wanna play?" It wasn't her worst attempt, but it left a little something to be desired. Don't be an idiot, Joey.[/color] The girl looked up and seemed unsure, and what pretty eyes she had! Joey stumbled for a second, and went into that brain vomit mode that always seemed to happen in times like these. "Small favors, but I'm pretty sure you can't kill somebody with an air hockey paddle. I mean, y'know, if I was an axe murderer. I guess I could beat your head into the table... but why would I do that? I'm not an axe murderer!" Joey put her palm to her face. "I'm really bad at this. Spare me from being... even more bad? Worse? Help?" Joey shot the girl a pitiful look, and tried to save face while she could, but she started turning bright red, which was a plight of the ginger people when they were even a little bit embarrassed, and Joey started staring at the floor instead of the girl, who now probably thought she was some freak of nature. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- OUTFIT:[/color] Here![/blockquote][/justify]

[style=width: 400px; height: 3px; background-color: #2d2030; margin-bottom: 5px] [/style] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- j u s t f o r g e t t h e w o r l d [/style][style=font-family: 'Verdana';background-color: #d3ccc6; width: 400px; font-size: 9px; color: #515453; text-align: left;] "You look like you could use a rousing game of air hockey. And I could use a partner. Wanna play?"
Jenna was brought out from looking at the screen of her phone, her brow was somewhat creased at the fact that she was not happy about what was written on the screen. She had been texting the only person she kept in contact with when she left for Manuka, on a number that she would dispose of the moment that she was done with the conversation. Really, Jennifer could not be too careful. Especially after seeing the scarred man in Manuka, she really didn't need to be able to be traced back to here by Lawrence. However, the voice was female, and it brought out of her conversation with Hannah, who referred to her as 'Laura' the person that Jenna was before she left. Never the less, her bright green eyes lifted up and were met with a redhead, and she was confused. Well yeah, it was only expected, when she was sitting in the food court of the arcade, but it took her a minute to orientate herself. It seemed like her pause lasted too long, because then the girl was speaking again.
Jenna's eyes widened a little bit before she right out grinned at the girls words and justifications of not being an axe murderer, and it seemed not to be going well for her. She laughed lightly, which was saying something since the last person to genuinely make her laugh was Weston, and that day he had saved her from the dick who knew her in her bad days. This felt so unexpected, Jenna was taken a little aback. She brushed some of her long, dark hair off her eyes and smiled, putting her phone down. "Um ... hello?" Jenna started, blushing a little at the fact that she was being stupid and ... well, that was not a good way to start a conversation, right? Never mind. She nodded, and offered a kind look to the girl who obviously just wanted someone to play air hockey with ... but Jenna ... well, she doesn't know how to even begin playing something like that!
"I think the whole 'beating your head against a table' bit was a little too much, but other than you're completely fine." Jenna teased good naturedly, just to clear the tension a little bit, because the girl was clearly out of her depth and even though Jenna was no better, she could try and make it less awkward for the girl by joking a little, as bad as the attempt was. Jenna licked her lips, and looked down at the flashing screen of her phone, and back up at the girl, thinking for a moment. "Uhh ... Well, not sure you'd want me as an air hockey partner, I mean ... I've never played it before, so I wouldn't be much of a challenge." She spoke softly, not a no, but an explanation why the redhead might want to reconsider her decision making.
But Jenna hadn't met that many people in Manuka, mostly because she felt like she should keep to herself, to blend in, so starting conversations with anyone was a difficult feat. However, this girl, as awkward as she seemed, Jenna found that she didn't feel dangerous. She picked up the too expensive coffee that she bough, and sipped the cooling liquid. She didn't have money to spare on coffee, let alone something as air hockey, but she was working tonight, and she could let herself have a few games. She needed the money, but she didn't need to be a complete shut off. Blinking at the girl, Jenna extended her hand. "You don't need to look like you want the ground to swallow you whole, you're fine, and I'm Jenna." She smiled kindly, offering the help that the girl had asked for, and if she wanted to leave, she could.

Joey's jaw dropped. Never played air hockey? Where was this girl from, Tatooine? Joey stopped everything that was going on between them with excessive hand waves, and continued to look shocked. Somehow, in the process of being shocked, her awkwardness and staring into the floor had been forgotten, and she became the Jedi Master of air hockey. "You've never... oh... this is happening. I'm Joey, and I'll totally teach you how to play air hockey. It's basically a life skill. C'mon," Joey stood up and nearly galloped over to the air hockey table, putting fifty cents worth in each side, and retrieved the white puck from her side of the table. She watched the girl, Jenna, retrieve the paddle from her side, and held up her own, like she was Vanna White in some sort of strange, geeky showcase. This is the paddle. You hold it like so," she demonstrated, showing the girl how to cradle the top handle with the fingertips and palm of one's dominant hand. "Don't choke it or anything, but also don't put a little weenie grip, either. You gotta be firm, and try to keep your fingers away from the sides, because they can get smashed that way, and it really, really hurts. Trust me."
Joey put the puck on the table, and the air started pushing it around, but she batted it back and forth gingerly on her side, making sure not to make any offensive moves until her little training tutorial was finished. "I'm gonna hit this at you, and you're gonna hit it back. Easy as pie, except you gotta make sure to guard that little slot on your side, because when the puck goes in there, it's a point for your opponent, whether you score an own goal or not." Joey looked at Jenna, who still seemed a little unsure, and then she looked into those endless blue eyes for a little too long, and Joey felt her legs kind of turn to mush. Gosh, she's pretty.
[/color] Then, she turned all serious, because this was air hockey, and she had been successful in an actual attempt to get someone random to play her, even though they didn't know how. She considered that a win. "'Kay, ready?" Joey said, giving the dark-haired girl fair warning before she sent the puck over to her side, going slow at first because she didn't want to be an asshole right out of the gate and pummel her. When the puck got going, it got going, and that could be a little scary and intimidating for a first timer. Joey chuckled to herself. That's what she said, self. 'It's scary and intimidating at first, but she'll get used to it' Haa.She was surprised that her random opponent actually didn't suck; she had good reflexes, and was staring intently at the glowing white puck as it slid around the table. "Hey, you're doing really well," Joey complimented, then stuck her tongue out a little to the side, fully in concentration-mode as she sent the puck whirling back, a little harder than she had been hitting it before. "Quite well indeed, young Padawan." Part of her wanted to thank the girl for agreeing to all of this, and for not thinking she was a total awkward freak because really, her people skills weren't phenomenal, and she hoped that the girl wouldn't regret her decision. She was really having a good time, after all. The arcade was one of her favorite places, and she was already sharing her love of air hockey with someone. I wonder if she's ever played pinball...[/color][/blockquote][/justify]

[style=width: 400px; height: 3px; background-color: #2d2030; margin-bottom: 5px] [/style] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- j u s t f o r g e t t h e w o r l d [/style][style=font-family: 'Verdana';background-color: #d3ccc6; width: 400px; font-size: 9px; color: #515453; text-align: left;] Jenna honestly could not be sure whether she should laugh or cry at the look the red haired girl was giving her because it seemed like Jenna had grown three heads or something. Honestly, maybe it was amusing, but it also made her shift in her seat a little but uncomfortably. It also seemed like that she lost all of her restraints upon hearing that Jenna had never played in her life, and she discovered that the girl was called 'Joey'. That sounded like a fitting name, and it actually made her laugh, that the enthusiasm that she presented in teaching Jenna to play air hockey. Like if she didn't she'd be a failure. The woman laughed and stood up as Joey did. "Alright ... I mean, I wouldn't want to be lost in the world without such an important skill." Jenna said, it wasn't mocking, but it was really just humouring the girl. It was kind of fun too. Following her to one of the hockey tables, Jenna brushed some of her long dark hair behind an ear and eyed her game partner as she put the money in.
Jenna complied with instructions, picking up a paddle and squinting a little to see how the girl was holding it. She wished she had brought her glasses, really it made things a hundred times easier to see. Nevertheless, Jenna thought that she caught what the girl was saying and it made her smile brightly. She winced a little about the 'hands getting smashed' bit, and wondered how many times that had happened to the girl. "This okay?" She asked, and she marvelled at how it seemed like her and Joey had known each other for a long time, and not just less than five minutes. "Ouch, I take it you've had your hand smashed on the side?" Jenna asked, because she was curious. She wondered what other games were 'crucial skillsets', though she was sure that she wouldn't necessarily agree with that, but it was a fun thought anyway. Everything provided an improvement of skill in the end, if you just let it.
Jenna scrunched her nose up a little in concentration on the words, as if they were the most important things in that moment, and nodded dutifully as she focused on the girls face, and her face contorted from concentration to a smile. "Alright, try not to get the thing get in the slot, and hit it back." She repeated as far as she understood, feeling rather proud of herself because it seemed simple. However, she could just tell that her beginner-ness would stand out, because Joey seemed like she played a lot of this. "Ready." She replied with a nod when she was asked, and felt grateful when the puck thing didn't come too fast at her. She had a moment of panic of what to do, but she placed her paddle as she was told, and actually hit the thing back. She beamed at that, even though she was positive that she only was able to hit it back because it wasn't going fast. After those initial moments of flailing though, Jenna thought she'd get a hold of it pretty quickly.
The dark haired woman laughed as she was complimented, another bout of panic settling in her stomach as the puck came harder at her, but her reflexes worked out once more and she was hitting it back. Jenna was surpised that she was having fun. Since coming to Manuka she hadn't done anything like this, or smiled as much. "I'm sorry, I'm afraid I don't understand that reference." She flushed a little, since she probably should know what a Padawan was, but she just hadn't had time for movies or TV so she didn't. "But thank you, I assure you it's just beginners luck, watch me suck the next round." Jenna chuckled, because really she was only starting, and she wold miss the ball sooner or later. As they hit the thing back and forth, there were a couple of times when she wasn't able to keep her opponents puck out of her little gate thing, but she wasn't miffed because she wasn't so bad, as Joey had said. "So, I take it you come to the arcade often?" Jenna commented, because really, Joey had a lot of skill in this game.

Being a teacher wasn't as easy as some people made it out to be. Even though she'd never been a huge fan of school, Joey was a huge fan of learning, and obtaining knowledge, and that was why she had a profound respect for some of her better teachers and professors. Teaching someone was difficult enough, but making someone want to learn something? Well, that could really be a chore. She remembered teaching her youngest brothers how to walk, potty-train, and talk... that kind of thing that parents should do, in normal situations, and recalled how difficult it was, because toddlers don't really have the desire to learn that people get as they're older. Or, maybe her youngest brothers were just major pains in the asses from an extremely early age. However, she knew way more about air hockey and arcade games than she ever knew about dirty diapers and newly mobile toddlers. The arcade had been her sanctuary during high school, and the little rinky-dink one they had in her hometown had been nearly worn out every time she came to play.
”Oh, don't doubt the importance of air hockey. But don't worry – I'm no Mr. Miyagi or anything, but I'm still pretty good, if I do say so myself,” Joey did a playful little bow and basically sprinted over to the table. She was pretty grateful that this women didn't appear to think she was a total freak, and at least seemed like somewhat of a willing participant. Air hockey was fun, and even though Joey was still partially convinced that she must have been living under a rock or something (how else did someone not know how to play air hockey?), she was determined to pass on her skills to a new... well, not generation... an individual that she saw as desperately needing her help in the arcade department.
Joey chewed her bottom lip a second after giving the first instructions, and looked at her pupil's technique. Not bad for a beginner.
[/color] Jenna seemed to be having a good time, although she did wince when Joey mentioned the potential hand casualty from puck meeting fingers. ”Meh, a few times. Overzealous siblings; they weren't as easy-going with me in the beginning as I'll be with you, so don't fret,” Joey said with a kindly smile. That seemed to help Jenna ease up a little bit and seemed to concentrate, even though Joey noticed she was squinting a little at the puck. Sometimes, the glow of the table and blacklights in a darkened arcade could be difficult on the eyes of someone who wasn't accustomed. Or maybe she had vision problems. Either way, it didn't seem to matter much, because the dark-haired woman took a few bats at the puck, and managed to get it across the table. Joey was impressed. After Jenna scored once on her, Joey scored back, but they were playing to ten, so it could go for a while. The redhead was still taking it slow, trying to make sure that she didn't do something like hit Jenna's hand accidentally. She didn't want the other woman to get mad at her, or have an unpleasant first experience with one of her favorite games. They were even making easy conversation as they played. Although, her Star Wars reference didn't connect, and Joey completely veered her paddle off-course, allowing the puck to slide in her goal with no contest. ”Whoa, whoa, whoa... wait a tick. What? You didn't get the... how? Star Wars?” Joey asked, flailing a little bit with the paddle still in her hand. That was... really? She had to live under a rock. Now Joey was completely convinced. ”Sometimes they play it at the theater on the cheap movie days. Y'know, two dollar movies and whatnot, because it's so old. Makes a great date movie. But either way, you gotta go see it.” Joey smiled, and they picked up playing again. Joey tied them up again with an easy backward hit that sent it curving into the other goal just right. Perfect. ”Arcades have always been my home away from home... great way to get the residual stress out from what bugs you on a daily,” Joey said, nodding and keeping her focus on the table. Jenna seemed to still have that beginner's luck streak going with a vengeance, and even though it would be cool for her to win on her first time out, Joey had a competitive streak that she just couldn't let slide. ”But... don't be mad at me for askin', but... if you don't know how to play air hockey, and don't really seem that into arcade games, what are you doing here?” Joey blinked. Wow. Rude. ”Um, I mean... arcades and fun, and I'm totally glad you're here because now I don't have to convince some nine year old to play with me and feel bad for getting all super aggressive and kicking their ass,” Joey said with a smirk. She didn't hate kids or anything, but sometimes being around them reminded her that she missed her siblings, and most of the time, she'd rather talk to someone her own age. ”They might not seem like much, but those little anklebiters can be really hard to beat.”[/blockquote][/justify]

[style=width: 400px; height: 3px; background-color: #2d2030; margin-bottom: 5px] [/style] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- j u s t f o r g e t t h e w o r l d [/style][style=font-family: 'Verdana';background-color: #d3ccc6; width: 400px; font-size: 9px; color: #515453; text-align: left;]Jenna didn't really know what to make of the red haired girl. She seemed very passionate about the things she loved, and that was something that Jenna hadn't seen in a while. It was refreshing, and she liked it. However, the references she didn't get. They made her furrow her brow in confusion, because she didn't think she was that old. Twenty-six was hardly old, but just showed that she had a deprived life. Pop culture and arcade games were usually not on her daily routine, but it seemed like they were for Joey. "I believe you. You can tell me if it's changed my life after we're done." Jenna laughed softly, brushing dome of her dark hair behind her ear as she readied herself. "I don't doubt your teaching skills, really, show me what you've got." Jenna wasn't sure why she was agreeing so readily for this game, maybe because Joey had seemed so enthusiastic. And she was actually ready to see a different part of the culture than she lived in, other than her own hardships. She would be able to just relax for a few moments, and enjoy learning something she hadn't know before hand. It was a pleasant feeling all together.
Jenna's expression turned sympathetic at Joey when she explained that her siblings had not taken care when they were teaching her, and the words created that phantom sensation of hurt, and she shuddered with unpleasantness. "Jesus, that sounds horrible. Did you ever get them back for it?" Jenna asked, amusement in her tone as she played easily, concentrating hard on the game at hand because she was actually enjoying it. This was not something Jenna would usually do, but she was liking it. It seemed like the scoring and keeping the other person from scoring were hard enough, but the woman figured that she was doing well as a first go, never having played this game before. She just tried to keep her fingers away from the puck, because even though Joey was going slow for her - she was thankful - she still panicked a little when the little round thing came towards her. Her instincts were only human.
The older woman actually felt a blush creep up her cheeks as she was called out on not knowing what Star Wars was. She had heard of it in passing, but if she had to name a single character or the plot, she wouldn't be able to. Maybe she could tell them that it was set in space, because well, the clue was in the name. Jenna shook her head, because to her, two dollars actually mattered. From when she was a teenager she had learned the value of even the smallest amount of money, but generally, she wasn't really a movie person. "I don't know ... I just never really watched movies." She shrugged, her eyes cast down to the game which stopped with the surprised tone of Joey that Jenna didn't catch that reference. "Well, maybe I will one day I'll understand one of your references." Jenna laughed, a bright smile that showed off her dimpled cheeks.
Jenna nodded as she spoke about the arcade being like a second home. She thought on that idea, and since she had left home to live with Lawrence, she hadn't had a home. Her home was their little house with her parents, not with a man she had married but didn't love. However, her question made Jenna laugh. Yes, it would seem weird, wouldn't it. She just hoped she didn't take Jenna for someone who was hanging around to pick up little kids or something. "I was supposed to be meeting a friend, but they texted me right before you came that they couldn't make it." She shrugged, and her attention was on the game. Yes, she seemed to be having beginners luck, but she knew for a fact that she could not beat someone who played as well as Joey. "Oh? Nine year olds can be competitive." She chuckled as another of Joeys balls flew past her and into the little goal, but she didn't feel like she should be sad about it, she didn't mind losing. She guessed that she wasn't that competitive, even though of course it was nice to feel like you could win at something. "So, what happens when I lose?" Jenna laughed and tilted her head, maybe the loser could buy coffee. She didn't mind, since Joey was being so friendly, and Jenna felt so at ease.

Despite the fact that Joey had basically ripped the other woman away from whatever she had been doing before, or any plans she might have had, she was being a really good sport. Joey was pleased that she seemed to be relaxing, smiling more, and laughing a little, even. But it wasn't really difficult to laugh or have a good time around the redheaded human – she was entertaining, even if she didn't realize it. Her sense of humor was good, and even when she made references that not everyone would get, her quirks made up for the differences. A lot of the time, Joey was self-conscious about these quirks, and didn't realize that so many of them were actually endearing. Her self-confidence was low, and it was something she was trying to work on. The more people that she talked to, the more she realized that she actually got others to like her fairly easily, for one reason or another. Friends were good, but she still longed for more, and hoped that she'd meet a woman who'd be interested in more than friendship from her sooner rather than later. ”I think you'd have to be the judge about whether or not your life has changed,” Joey said with a chuckle before sailing the puck across the table yet again. Jenna hit it back gracefully, and Joey knew that beginner's luck was a very real thing, and decided to keep on her toes.
The white puck traversed across the table a few more times, back and forth, and the rhythm of paddle meeting puck was all that sounded for a moment before Joey grinned at the dark-haired woman, pleased with how the game was going. The score was 4-2, with Joey leading, but Jenna actually wasn't doing poorly. ”You learn quickly,” Joey commented, wanting to be able to praise her 'student's' progress at the game she loved so much. Well, it wasn't pinball, but it was still amazing. Pinball wasn't a two-player game, either, so air hockey was a great thing to play with a second person, even if said second person was, for all intents and purposes, a stranger. Maybe Jenna would turn into a friend – Joey was hopeful about that. It didn't hurt to be an optimist when the opening for a potential friendship was there. Although Joey's brutal mention of hands being smashed seemed to cause Jenna's happiness to fade for a moment, which was to be expected.
”Wasn't a walk in the park, but they didn't mean it. They were little. I'm the oldest, so we all used to play together. Arcades were an easy way to entertain everyone,” Joey said, remembering her childhood, or what she had of a childhood. It wasn't much, but it was all that she had, and she didn't want to dwell on what she'd lost or what she could have had under different circumstances. ”No revenge was necessary. I just got really good at beating them at arcade games.” All of the Campbell siblings had a bit of competitive blood in them, mostly when it came to games, not so much with sports. She and her brother Ryan were a bit clumsy, but Larissa had been involved in dance and a few sports. The youngest two boys had an inclination toward athletics, but Joey barely even liked breaking a sweat when she had to. It was why she was very happy that she had such a speedy metabolism. That way, she didn't have to be athletic, and could still eat whatever she wanted without concern. Which was even better, because Joey loved some junk food.
The redhead had been a bit floored when Jenna didn't understand a Star Wars reference, but not everyone was a nerd, and she knew it. However, she thought that one was fairly standard. ”Never watched movies? Oh, stick with me. I basically have a small video store in my dorm room. I'm a bit of a movie collector.” Other than video games, and other electronics, Joey liked to spend what money she did have on movies. Movies were one of her great loves, and everyone had their favorites, but she had more than a few that would appeal to a wider audience. ”If you want... you certainly don't have to. I've already barged into your life uninvited.” Her fair complexion caused her to blush more easily, and blush she did when she realized how forward she was being. It wasn't like her, but for some reason, thinking of someone who had been deprived of movies just made her sad. Movies were a fantastic escape when she didn't feel like playing video games; sometimes, it was much more interesting to get involved in someone else's fictional world than live in her own.
6-4, still Joey's lead, but Jenna was starting to get the hang of it. Apparently, she had been stood up by a friend, and Joey hadn't been completely intruding. Well, it wasn't like she was keeping her from doing something else. ”At least you have friends to bail on you,” Joey mumbled under her breath, even though those kinds of friends weren't always worth having. Not to say her friend didn't bail for a good reason; Jenna seemed like she'd have more than a few friends to choose from, though. Jenna scored again, almost evening them up, and Joey grinned. This had been an interesting match from the start. The entire day had been interesting.
”Nine years olds can be terrors,” Joey said with a firm nod of her head. Joey scored another goal, and then another, and Jenna commented on what they were going to do when the dark-haired woman lost. Joey tsked at her with her tongue against her teeth and smirked. ”You've been doing great! Really, no need to be a pessimist. C'mon,” Joey said, wanting to spark the other woman's confidence. Really, it wasn't that she was bad at air hockey, just that Joey was that good and not willing to just let someone win. ”Maybe... winner picks the next game, and loser buys snacks?” It was a suggestion, and she didn't know what Jenna would think about it, but at least it was some sort of wager. Wagers already made things more competitive. Maybe she'd see a more determined side of Jenna now.
