I’d never settle down, I’d just be wandering around, if I ever left this town. if I wasn’t by your side, I’d never be satisfied. nothin’ would feel just right, ‘cause I’m not easy to understand, but you know me like the back of your hand, you’re my girl and I’m your man, and we’re makin’ plans --------------- !
He had had the weirdest night of his entire life. There was something wrong with the night, and he didn’t even know if it was even real, or if he had imagined it all. Something told him that Lucas grabbing his dick was not imaginary, but very, very real. Never in his life had he been more uncomfortable or angry. Ever. Kale was what you would call a homophobic person. He didn’t want to see gay people around him, didn’t want to see them holding hands, kissing, nothing. Even thinking about it gave him chills. Growing up in the South had been where he had learned about everything from guns to God. He had learned growing up that homosexuality was a sin and it was wrong. He agreed with that wholeheartedly. So having a guy, his sister’s friend Lucas, grab his dick just five minutes prior was something that he could barely handle. Some people might think he was being a bit ridiculous, but Kale didn’t care. It was like forcing someone who hated spiders into a room full of them. He was fearful of them. It was just gross. He couldn’t help it.
He wanted so badly to go back there and finish what he had started with Lucas. If Kentley hadn’t come down and stopped him, Kale would have beat the ever living shit out of him. Kale didn’t mess around when he was angry. Because he almost never exploded in anger, it was always so much worse when it did. Anything and everything that he had looked past came to him and he exploded at whoever his target was. Almost nothing could stop him. it was why he was so afraid of ever getting that angry at one specific person. He couldn’t even imagine if he ever got that mad at Kimmi, or what she would do about it. But so far, there was nothing about her that made her agitated. She was like no one he had ever met.
Right now the only thing he knew would help him forget about it was Kimberly. Even before the ball he couldn’t stop thinking about her, but now… now it had gotten even worse. It was like she was just nonstop in his brain, making him absolutely insane. Bothe the ball and the after party were something to remember. The ball, well, it was somewhat of a milestone. It was the first time he ever got her to smile, and the first time she didn’t resist it when he held her close. She also seemed to loosen up more after that first dance. Maybe he was overthinking it all, or maybe there really was some sort of connection between them. Kale wasn’t willing to risk thinking it was all just her being nice. He’d rather believe that she had shown her feelings, too. After he had taken her back to her house, he had never felt better. He had been on cloud nine ever since then. Now he had to see her again under completely different circumstances.
It was really, really late. He wasn’t sure whether or not she would even be awake, but he didn’t care. She went out to clubs ‘til three in the morning, so he was pretty sure she would be awake—if she was home at all. If not, he would just have to go elsewhere. He couldn’t think of a single person who he would rather talk to though. Perhaps Xel or maybe even Trace’s house. He didn’t know Trace very well, but he and Kentley were really tight. The two got along really well, and he didn’t doubt that the guy would open up his apartment to him for a night. Trace was a really nice guy, and Kale would pay him back somehow.
Kale sifted through his jacket pockets looking for a cigarette. To his dismay, he didn’t have a pack on him. He took a quick detour to a gas station. When he first got there, he contemplated on just sneaking around and grabbing a pack and a lighter and walking out real fast, but he ended up buying them instead. Then he started on his way to Kimmi’s again. Kale had smoked for a while. Cigarettes were more like his emergency life line for when he felt like stealing. His impulses had begun to increase, but he had thought better of it and either left altogether, or just bought it like just then. When he really needed to take things, he tried to work out. He would maybe go on a long run or lift some weights at the gym, but nothing really seemed to get the itch out of his mind or the tingling in his fingers. He only hoped that one day they would both just disappear because he knew he could get into serious trouble, probably even go to jail, if he ended up getting caught.
After three cigarettes, he was finally in her neighborhood. The houses around here were more like mansions. He had never actually been inside of a mansion before, so this was a new experience. He had remembered how to get to Kimmi’s place and walked the sidewalk all the way there. There was a large gate in the front, but Kale wasn’t about to wait out by the street. He climbed the wall on the right and hurled himself over, landing on his ass. “Ow, shit!” he said, disgruntled. He sighed, took a few breathes, and stood. He suddenly started to get nervous. He knew she wouldn’t be expecting him, or probably anyone for that matter, to be knocking on her door this late at night. He was nervous to see her, period. What would she do or say when she saw him standing there, covered in dirt now, with fear and anger filling his eyes?
With a deep breath, he knocked.

YOU DON'T WANT ME LIKE I WANT YOU you don't need me like i need you Man, Kimberly shouldn’t have been there that weekend. She hadn’t spent time in her actual home in what seemed like months and months at a time. In the past, she had been able to visit it during weekends, but every weekend was filled more and more. Her schedule was piling high. Her mother had even offered to drive her this late at night to finish with whatever Kimberly needed to finish, but Kimmi wasn’t about to get her mother up at midnight. The home wasn’t terribly far away, but it was on the outskirts of town. Cute little place. So much different than the place she had been forcing to live at. Oh, her room was enormous in her mansion. The giant canvas purple bed in the middle of the room with a walk in closet, beautiful balcony, and ceilings high enough to probably plant a tree in. At her house, she had a night stand, regular closet, and a decent sized bed. Yet, she felt so much more comfortable in her other home than her mansion. Never had she ever brought a man over to her home. Her mansion was a different story.
In fact, right now, she had a little visitor over. She had been laying in her bed unable to sleep and completely pissed off for not being at her home bed. For a while, she had just wandered the place. Outside, inside. Everywhere. By the time she thought she was tired of it, she had only been wandering around for about ten minutes. Kimmi wasn’t going to be wandering her house trying to figure out what to do. Her energy was best let out with dancing and grinding. Especially since now that she had time, she was starting to let her mind wander as well as herself. The mind always seemed to crawl back to Kale. Kale, Kale, Kale. She tried to be nasty and mean just as she always was. No one could really blame him for not wanting to see her. Yet, he did want to see her. Or it seemed like he did. They had seen each other at the ball. At first, she wanted to make everything tense, but his smile and his light humor and fucking adorable nature made her melt quicker than anyone ever had before. It was horrible. She wasn’t sure if she liked it or not. As much as it felt uplifting, she knew the potential dangers it brought.
Over and over she reminded herself that even if he had felt that way about her, they couldn’t be a couple. Kimberly wasn’t about to make a public target for Kale. The press would poke at him until every one of his secrets was lifted for every single person that read a magazine could see. Her job was to get that kind of attention. It wasn’t his and it wouldn’t be fair. Gah, this was exactly why she couldn’t let her mind think. No, other people were hired to think for her. She was hired to look beautiful and get herself known. Before she left, she looked in the mirror. It wasn’t the best image. Her makeup was mostly cleared, but this late, everyone was going to be too plastered to even cared what the girl looked like at this point. No press in their right mind would be up at this night. What they were going to see was the morning of it. So she headed to the club. She entered, did her little ritual, and what do you know? The guy from the bar was there. The guy Kimmi pretty much ditched after seeing that Kale was being spied on by a vampire.
The guy had proved that his personality wasn’t just showing a bad day the last she saw him or anything. The guy was a regular arrogant ass on a twenty four hour basis. The good thing was that Kimmi knew exactly how to deal with these types of guys. These weren’t the hard men like Kale whom she didn’t know what to do with because they were making her jittery all over. The guy made it clear that he wanted to make sure they went through with it this time. There was no mention of Kale even though this guy was making her think of Kale more than anything. Just wondering if he had been here, would Kale act the same way he did before? It didn’t matter. The guy was probably asleep. Or doing something perfect and unbelievable just how Kimmi seemed to always picture him. The guy was too perfect. He had zero flaws. She saw him snap and curse once in their small meetings. Really.
They were at her mansion. Shinning and bright and he almost looked impressed. Almost. He didn’t really take long to attack her. Kimmi didn’t resist any, seeming almost bored but glad there was something to do. Then with her very distinctive hearing, she heard a large thud from just outside the door. Oh god, was it that fucking thief again? Kellin? He had jumped her fence before. Oh, she was going to kill him. Her teeth clenched and broke, but the guy seemed to think that was an invitation for her neck. Kimmi craned her neck and listened carefully and didn’t hear anything at first. Then the door knocked and both of them stared toward the door they weren’t very far from. With a deep whiff in through her nose, she could smell… husky… sweat…dirt … cigarettes… The man was looking at Kimmi, wondering why she wasn’t answering her own door. Growing impatient, he moved to the door and Kimmi followed, about to go and fight him for the doorknob. She was late and the door swung opened anyways and she blinked a couple of times to whom she saw. The guy wasn’t impressed and recognized Kale at once, ”Hey punk, get out of here.” He said rather frankly and hard while Kimmi was in the background, like an idiot and saying as if it were doubtable, ”Kale?” Oh fuck, she sounded so stupid. Embarrassment flooded through her for multiple reasoning and annoyances.

Kale was not expecting anything when he came over here. He knew she was still trying to act like he didn’t matter and that he was just some random guy that didn’t matter at all, but he knew he was slowly breaking her walls down. He hoped he wouldn’t have to go through her tough exterior very much tonight though, because he needed the girl that he saw when they danced at the ball together. The one who smiled and whose eyes lit up when she talked about the people she loved. He didn’t want the girl who guarded herself by being, well let’s face it, a bitch. He knew that deep down she was just as nice as he was, and no one could change his mind. He had seen it with his own eyes that she wasn’t all hard ass and that she could actually engage in a conversation without giving a snarky, sarcastic remark.
If he couldn’t have that girl standing in front of him tonight, he should just go on home and lock himself in his room. Maybe he’d just go on a long run and try to forget about it by blasting music into his ears as he worked himself to exhaustion. As long as he didn’t have to see that asshole Lucas anymore, he would be halfway fine. Kale knew he was still there though, so it didn’t do his mind any good to think about going back home. He’d rather stay out in the park than go where Lucas was. If he saw that kid again, he’d probably rip him a new ass.
As he waited as patiently as possible for Kimmi to open her giant door, he looked around. This place was meant for a fucking princess. It seemed too big and exquisite for his taste. He had never had a large home. Even the one back in Atlanta was smaller than the one the Austin family lived in now. Now that they lived in a two story house, the siblings didn’t seem to run into each other as often. This house, while old and a bit creaky, was still better than the other one, which still held memories of their past. If he ever went back, he thought he might shed a tear or two. He planned on eventually going back home and being where he belonged: anywhere but the North would be okay by him. He’s like to go back to Georgia someday, probably after college.
The door suddenly flung open, pulling Kale back to reality. He instantly grew stiff when he saw who it was that opened it. His fists balled up, and his already angry mood had somehow flared even more. The same douchebag that had been a little too touchy-feely at that party was standing in front of him. without a mother fucking shirt. Kale looked into the house as Kimberly said his name. He couldn’t believe this was happening. “Are you fuckin’ kiddin’ me?” he asked Kimberly and pointed to the guy. Kale had told this asshole before to back the hell off of Kimberly, but here he was again, only this time he was at her place. Without a shirt. Which only made him feel like beating the shit out of him more.
“Look, kid. I don’t have time for this shit. Just get outta here, and I won’t hurt you... again. Alright?” Kale really didn’t want to have to punch another dumbass tonight, so he thought he should go about it as nice as he could. His right hand was already bruised a bit, and he knew if he and this guy, God knows what his name was—Tyler or something similar, were to get into a fight, that he would have even sorer hands, and a few bruises elsewhere. Honestly, he wouldn’t mind beating this scum to a bloody pulp. Heaven knew he had enough rage right now to do it without getting too many bruises, but Kale always tried to be polite first.
”Get real, hick. Kimmi’s mine,” he laughed a little and started to shut the door on Kale. He threw up his hand, stopped the door from shutting and took a deep breath. He proceeded to step into the house. “I’m sorry. Maybe you didn’t hear me good enough the last time I told you. So I’ll just say it again.” He stood directly in front of the boy who stood a few inches shorter than him. “Get the hell outta here, or you will have wished you woulda listened.” The kid, looking up at him, gave a snarky smile and crossed his skinny little arms over his chest. ”What are you going to do if I don’t?” he asked. Kale grinned, all humor completely lost, and looked at Kimberly before turning to the boy.
Without a single word of explanation, he threw his fist into the guy’s jaw. He flew backwards and Kale’s hand instantly burned in protest of the harsh contact. He shook it off. The boy stood up and came at Kale, but he lacked any kind of form, and it was easy to move to the left and uppercut him in the stomach. The boy clutched his stomach and Kale backed away. Now that he was completely enraged, he knew things could get much worse. If he didn’t catch himself now, he could just about kill the kid. And he couldn’t do that, especially not in front of Kimberly.
Kale took a few deep breathes and grabbed what he could only assume to be his shirt, and threw it out the door. “Now. Get the fuck outta here 'fore I lose my temper.” The boy looked up at him with scared eyes before getting up and running out of the house. Kale slammed the door behind him. He stayed there staring at the door, trying to breathe before looking at Kimberly. When he turned, his eyes were so full of disappointment. He looked at her, trying not to give away how hurt he was. He thought they were starting to go somewhere, but apparently he had never been more wrong in his life.
Still, he came here because of Lucas, and he didn’t intend on leaving. She would just have to get a taste of her own medicine for a while. “What a catch you got there,” he said and walked past her. he really needed to keep his legs moving, and he needed ice for his hands. He went through a maze of rooms before finding the kitchen. It looked like it should be in a magazine from how clean and unused it looked. He went straight for the refrigerator and opened the freezer.
He really should have thought more about what the hell he was doing before he just rushed on over.

YOU DON'T WANT ME LIKE I WANT YOU you don't need me like i need you From what her memory told her, she wasn’t sure how this little show down was going to end. If there was going to be a showdown. Tyler was a lot of things, but brave wasn’t one of them. Yet, she knew how Kale loved to be gentleman like and happy, so there was a toss up to see if anything was going to go down. Well, one thing was for sure. Kimmi wasn’t going to be having any sex tonight. Even if Kale walked the other way, there was no way she could do something that dirty and reckless after seeing him. She didn’t know what it was. After seeing Kale, she felt ashamed and much like a whore. Yes, she realized she was a whore, but she didn’t really feel the impact until this guy always came along. As soon as whatever happened there, she was going to send Tyler home. Besides, it wasn’t as if things were getting really rowdy and heated up when he stopped. His shirt was off, laying on the corner of the floor by the door, but she wasn’t even breathing heavily.
Her eyes widened when she saw that Kale was not in the best of moods. There was no delightful smile that was filling his face, glittering and gleaming. His eyes were dark and his entire body was tense. Maybe this was going to end with something other than a friendly walk away. She took a step back as her eyes glanced downward from him as he spoke. Her eyes glanced over at the prize she had taken home and saw that he didn’t look at the least bit intimidated. ”Look, Kale-“ She felt herself being cut off by Kale’s attention coming back to Tyler and she shut her mouth. IF there was one thing that she could do, it was when to shut up. Her walls on being a bitch should have probably been up, but she also felt that it was too late for Kale. Even though she reminded herself that night it was going to be a one time thing, she was too comfortable now. It took too much effort when it was easier to talk to him. A rare thing, as usually it was the other way around.
Kimmi didn’t realize she was holding her breath until her lungs were screaming at her to take another breath in. She was a werewolf, not an immortal. Her breath was slow as she watched the tension grow with every passing second. Then when Tyler spoke, he couldn’t have said that any more wrong. Kimmi had a lot of problems with that sentence. First off, anyone who would call Kale a hick would surely be something to tangle with. Second, Kimmi was not the nickname he was allowed to call her. Third, what was this mine shit? Her own fists balled up as her eyes narrowed. Her teeth almost wanted to snarl and snap like a dog, but instead, she stepped toward Tyler clearly not happy. He was starting to close the door and she wasn’t even noticing because her mind was now focused on what the hell this was all supposed to mean. ”My fucking pardon? Since when am I yours?” She snapped, though she was annoyed about everything else, that was the last thing on her mind. That was the only thing she had time for before both of the couple’s attention went on the swinging open door.
It was amazing how large Kale looked at moments like these. He was always muscly and tall, but here he looked like a giant as he towered over Tyler as if Tyler were a little kid. The seriousness of his face verses the cockiness of Tyler was about to be tested. Kimmi gasped and just watched like a stupid woman in a movie as Kale’s fist ran straight into Tyler’s nose. She didn’t think Tyler expected it either, as he flew away as soon as shirt came back into contact with him. Kimmi wasn’t going to lie. Under the surprise, she felt grateful for reasons she couldn’t explain. The grateful relief made her annoyed at herself. Clearly she hadn’t been looking forward to something like that, but she went ahead and did it anyway. After all these years, it seemed that she just blocked out what she didn’t want and desired. She wasn’t sure on it. It was just a theory, and one that would fit along with the rest of the actions in her life. How pathetic was she?
Kale rushed past her, giving her a look of disappointment that hit harder than he would have believed. She let herself show the hit it took for a moment before she put on a poker face. That’s all it was. Just something to cover it to hide how fragile she was in his presence. She wasn’t sure if Kale was good for her or not, but he sure did make her feel more human. Clearly not all of the humanity was gone from the press and the bite. She saw that he went through the other room. What was he looking for? She half ran to where he disappeared to see that he was over at the freezer. He ought to be careful, as she felt that he would melt everything that was in the freezer. ”Well he wasn’t here for his generous personality.” She tried to defend, crossing her arms and standing in the doorway. ”You don’t get out much do you? He’s a catch compared to everyone else that was there.” She added, remembering that at first she had been hesitant. However, she would have taken Tyler over the drunk stumbling that was so horny, he’d probably fuck a tree. Not that she had been one of the main prizes there. With nothing much to pretty her up…
Oh god, she forgot that she looked like she just woke up. Her face ducked, as if he may not have noticed already. This was worse than when she was under the waterfall. At least some of the eyeliner had stayed and her hair was still beautiful. Here it just got out of a bun, ratted and looked like some was still in the messy bedhead look. Not to mention the god damn freckles. Slowly, she approached him from the darker side of the small light that was entering the house. ”Kale, why are you here…” She asked. Not bitterly, but more of confusion. Honestly, she was trying to piece together why he was there at near… her eyes glanced at the clock. Past midnight. It was a little fuzzy this late. Her attention went back to Kale, watching him carefully as she saw what he took out of the freezer. How could he just so easily make her melt and feel fuzzy while feeling horrible all at the same time, she wasn’t sure.

Pissed wasn’t even close to what Kale was feeling. It was one thing to be at a girl’s house to mess around a little. But it was another to do it with Kimberly. She was different to him. she deserved more than just a one night stand with some jackass that thought he was the biggest badass to hit this earth since James Dean. Kale wasn’t one to fight, but he sure did fight for what he wanted and what he believed in. not only did he want Kimberly, but he respected her enough to not jump into bed with her like this Tyler guy. He never actually had had a one night stand before. He didn’t know why they seemed so appealing to people. He would much rather have a relationship with a girl before he ever got physical with them. His dad had taught him to respect women and what they wanted over what his own desires were for her. He had taken that seriously, and every girl he had ever been with had loved the fact that he didn’t fuss when they wanted to wait. He wasn’t some sex-crazed man.
Neither he nor Tyler paid any attention to Kimberly, who was so obviously offended by Tyler’s words of ownership. Even Kale was offended for her. a woman wasn’t someone’s property. Maybe they would be called “my girl” or something, but that didn’t mean that they owned them. Kale often thought of his girlfriends as his, just not in the ownership kind of way. He just liked other people to know to stay the hell away from her because she was dating him. when they knew not to flirt with his girlfriend, he felt so much better. He could relax more. Since Kimberly was nothing more than a friend, no matter how much he wanted her to be—and God did he want her to be, he couldn’t have no say whatsoever in her lifestyle. And he wouldn’t want to either because that would probably piss her off. He didn’t want to run someone’s life for them. He had his own to run and worry about.
When Tyler was finally gone, he could barely express what he felt. He didn’t even know why he was here in the first place. Of course he was here because he wanted to get away from that fucking Lucas guy who he now loathed. Kale had always been a little iffy about Lucas, but now he was certain that that guy was nothing but trouble. Nothing but a fucking faggot kid who needed to be taken down a notch.
He put ice on his bleeding knuckles to make them feel better, but it was barely helping. He needed to keep his feet moving or else he would go stir crazy. He walked around trying not to look at Kimberly who had just walked into the kitchen. He wasn’t just angry at Kimberly, he was disappointed. The moment the two had shared at the ball had been just a one way thing for him apparently, and he was making a fool of himself for even being here. He should have just gone to Xel’s place. Except he had no idea where the hell she lived. It was a little depressing finally realizing that he had practically no friends. He really needed to go out more.
Sarcasm was the only thing he knew to turn to. He wasn’t really good with his words, and he knew if he tried to be serious, he would just stutter out something and he would look even dumber. Kimberly used a defensive tone with him and he couldn’t help feel a little bit of fury boiling up inside of him. was she fucking joking? She was really doing this to him? Of all people, you would think she could be a little nicer to Kale.
Of course he did just ruin her night and stormed in on her out of nowhere. He could understand. It still didn’t make him feel any less annoyed. But she was correct about one thing. He really didn’t go out much at all. He snorted out a laugh anyways. “Right. He’s a gem, isn’t he? It’s not like you have someone like me, is it?” he sighed and squeezed his eyes shut. He did not mean to blurt that out. Shit. She was probably going to take that exactly how he meant it and, shit. Well, it was said. He couldn’t take it back now.
The confusion in her voice wasn’t very surprising. He would be pretty surprised if she had shown up to his house at an hour like this. Usually he would be asleep though, unlike her. well, he had been asleep until he had been awoken. If Lucas hadn’t woken him up banging on his front door for Kent, then he would still be asleep. And the only reason he was here was because he had nowhere and no one else. He could tell she didn’t want him here. He almost didn’t want to admit what had happened to him earlier, too. He should just leave her alone and go somewhere else. Anywhere that she didn’t have to put up with him. he wasn't out to bother her, he just wanted a friend. He didn’t even know if Kimberly was his friend. Let alone if she wanted him here. She obviously couldn’t see that he had some pain behind his eyes, but he didn’t think too much about it. It was better to just let it go and forget about this whole thing.
“You know what? I…I’m just gunna go.” He said. His eyes dropped and he looked at the tiled floor. He took a deep breath and bit the inside of his cheek before heading to her front door. He had been hurt too many times before to have Kimberly do it to him, too. He didn’t want to let his guard down around someone and then just get his heart stomped on all over again. he couldn’t believe that he had let himself have so many feelings for someone who didn’t even want to be his friend. He couldn’t blame Kimberly for not wanting to have him as a friend though. he was kind of hard to deal with sometimes, and he admitted that.
Lord he needed a cigarette right now.

YOU DON'T WANT ME LIKE I WANT YOU you don't need me like i need you His sarcasm continued to bite her hard, but it was even easier to hide it now that she was avoiding all eye contact at whatever possible hidden in dark shadows. Standing in front of her freezer was probably have it melt all of the ice. Kimmi knew from the delightful moments she had been close enough to tell that he was hot. Literally burning like he was constantly on fire. Not like she used much of the freezer anyways. Her frown was clear and she huffed a little bit until her mind actually started to comprehend what he had just said. First it was just annoyance that he pointed out how downgrading it was to be with someone like him. Someone like her didn’t have as many options as Kale might have thoughts. Sluts were dirty. Not a lot of men actually wanted sluts. They wanted something more pure (for the same reasons but sluts were always last resort). Kimmi understood how the balance worked out. Slut versus ones that were a little more cautious versus the ones saving themselves for marriage. Which Kimmi did admire.
However, the rest of the phrase went right over her head, but then came back and hit her. Her blue eyes gazed at him with a little uncertainty. Did he just suggest what she thought he suggested? The thought was actually tempting, but she shoved that thought back far in her mind where hopefully she’d never find it again. That guy was already making her melt at her feet with every little step and smile he took. The last thing that needed to happen was something else reminding her that she could have him. Why did Kale like Kimmi? That was still always a mystery. It made no sense, as flattering as it was. ”Someone like you? Are you suggesting that when I feel to grab myself a hookup, I come over to your place?” Her eyebrow lifted up as she spoke, though she wasn’t sure how much he could see since she was trying to cover herself up in a little more fashion. That’s probably not what he meant, but that’s what her mind turned to. Her thoughts and actions weren’t exactly on the classy side. On one hand, if something like that were to really happen, she probably wouldn’t turn it down. Between Kimberly being all around easy, she couldn’t say no to Kale. Oh dear god no.
Watching him, she couldn’t get over how mad he was. How pissed off he looked. Her hard exterior was probably giving off a similar vibe though hers wasn’t as serious as he looked. The only other time she had something like this, he was fending for her against… Tyler. In the after ball thing they did together. Before they went off and had ice cream for the first time. Kimberly had been pretty much addicted as soon as she had it. It not only brought memories that filled her up with that kind of warmth she couldn’t describe, but it tasted so delicious. How could it have been hiding all her life? She had some in the freezer earlier, but it tended not to last long in her household. Her hand reached up and scratched her head a little bit, feeling how loose the bun was and how it was going to fall out at any moment. But it was probably too tangled in her hair to let it just slip out. Kale seemed to catch her at her absolute worst. Which was saying something.
Though her face was hard and demanding, it automatically vanished and was locked away somewhere when he said that he was leaving. She didn’t even realize how glad she was for him to be here until those words came out of his mouth. Her heart thudded in her chest as her eyes shot to really look at him. His eyes were looking at the floor though. Without another word, he turned to leave and go back out the door he came uninvited into. Before she could let the words come back, her panicked state slipped out, ”NO! Wait, please, don’t go…” They were rapid, slowing down at the end and sounding like a girl who didn’t want her best friend to leave. Though she didn’t think of Kale as a friend. No. It was more than that. If it had been just friends he had been feeling, she would have felt much better about this entire thing. No feelings or thoughts attached. Just trying to help him out the way she tried to help Kinsley out. Instead of dreading him leaving when she hadn’t even expected his arrival.
Feeling as if that wasn’t enough to get him to stay, she added, feeling herself start to fumble with meaningful things to say, ”Please…” She told him, a little less bursting and unexpected but a little more softer. It wasn’t the greatest phrase from standing there and looking down at her hands, trying to see if she could somehow make herself camouflaged. It wasn’t he greatest vibe to send out to people, but Kimberly had a hard time of dealing with regular people. Inside, she was that girl who just wanted to spin and dance while messing around and feeling silly. It was there somewhere under there. What she ended up getting though was a woman who didn’t know how to communicate with others properly without it being in some demanding and harsh tone. She was a mess. She wasn’t trying to excuse for anything, but she was a fabulous mess. The very few people in her life that actually cared where the ones she felt she could relatively do something like that. Kale was becoming one of them. Kimberly didn’t know why she was so easily let down by him, but she was. Looking at him again and his tall structure, she turned around and kept her arms crossed. Like there was a huge chill that came through her house and she was sure hell as cold. AND I WANT YOU IN MY LIFE and i need you in my life

He didn’t like being such an asshole, especially to Kimberly. But there came a point in time where he just couldn’t take it anymore. He hated that all she saw herself was as a piece of meat who didn’t deserve anything better than stupid assholes like Tyler who only wanted her for her body. She was so much more than just a piece of assured ass who didn’t get anything in life other than some money for posing in pictures and random guys every other night. It pissed him off so much that she belittled herself and did whatever her stupid manager told her to do. It wasn’t like he was living the life for her. and being a model didn’t mean you had to live a promiscuous lifestyle. For heaven’s sake, he knew tons of models who were perfectly fine with staying home and drinking hot chocolate and watching movies instead of going out to the club. He just couldn’t understand her thinking in that when she stopped sleeping with everything that moved, her job would come to a screeching halt as well. She was beautiful, had a rocking body that just about killed him, and could manipulate a picture in a second to become gorgeous. So what was she so worked up and worried about? Some shit her manager had been forcing on her since she was legal? Christ.
Well shit. He probably should have bit his tongue on that one. Kale actually did kind of think that it would be better if she were with him instead of a new guy every night. Hell, he just told her so, too. But he knew that if he said something to her that she would probably freak out. He didn’t want to scare her away so quickly, he had finally gotten her alone for God’s sake. Still, if he didn’t just go on and tell her that he did want to be with her, or at least think about being together, it could somehow never happen, and it would be all his fault. She looked kind of angry. he didn’t want her to be mad. He just wanted her to…
That’s when Kale realized that he was trying to get her to change her entire lifestyle. He was trying to get her to stop everything that she was already comfortable with. Just because someone could be so much more than what they already were didn’t mean some random guy should come in and try and change their life. If they were to ever be together, she could lose everything. Her job, her giant mansion, everything could get lost because of him. he wasn’t the kind of guy who usually tried to burst into someone’s life and change what someone was used to. He left people alone because that’s what he wanted from them, too. But he had this urge like it was his job to get Kimberly out of this stupid mindset that all she was, was someone who could pose for pictures and dance and have sex with random people. To him she was so much more than that.
“I never said all that. Now yer puttin’ words into my mouth.” But it’s kind of what he wanted. He didn’t want her just to hook up though; Kale was not that kind of guy. He liked relationships, and the only people he had ever had sex with were people he had dated for a good amount of time. If he were going to have anything at all with Kimberly, he wanted it to be something other than hooking up every now and again. he wanted to have a relationship with her. if he couldn’t have her as anything more than a friend, then he would take it. He just wanted her, whether it be as just a friend or something more.
As he walked away from the person that made him so damn confused about so damn much, he sighed. He didn’t want to go, but it was probably for the best. They were both angry, him more than her, and for good reason. But when she called out to him, he stopped. He had never heard her talk like that before. The panicking sound in her voice made him confused as hell, but he put that aside. She actually asked him not to go! He almost smiled, but then he remembered why he was angry in the first place, and it went away quickly. Her second please made Kale want to just run to her and forget he was ever mad. He turned around and looked at her. She looked vulnerable, looking down at her hands instead of at him. he didn’t know if he wanted to stay.
Against his better judgment, he took a long, deep breath, and walked over to her. This might be one of the stupidest things he ever did, but it could also be one of the best. Either way, how could he leave after that? He would be just another asshole if he left such a fragile looking girl standing there. Kale walked up to her and without saying a word, he embraced her in a tight hug. If he could, he would just stay here with her. but he couldn’t. he’d probably get his ass beat by his dad if he did. So he’d only stay for a while. She had said please…twice.
“Alright,” he said. “But just for a while.” Kale kept his arm around her shoulders as he turned her and walked her back inside. It had started sprinkling, and flashes of lightning lit up the sky. He hated lightning. It was one of the only things that scared the hell out of him. He sort of rushed her inside and let out a little suppressed yelp when a flash of lightning hit, then suddenly a clash of thunder struck. Maybe it was some childish fear, but his heart pounded in his chest and he couldn’t catch his breath until they were safely inside.

YOU DON'T WANT ME LIKE I WANT YOU you don't need me like i need you Kimberly saw how quickly he backtracked. Her point exactly. It didn’t occur to Kimmi that he had different reasons for saying that. In her mind, she thought it was a sign of ‘no, I’m not touching that’. She did know that Kale wasn’t the one up for one night stands. That part was at least obvious. It would make sense for someone as gentleman and overly adorably sweet as Kale wouldn’t be the one to do something like that dirty work. She didn’t know how much experience he had and frankly, it wasn’t something she actually wanted to discuss. Sure, she was curious, as anyone might have been. Yet, even the past girls in his life made her a little jealous. Kimberly had never been a real jealous person before. Mostly because there hadn’t been anything to be jealous over. She could understand if the boy was confused. Really, even in her own mind, she didn’t make any sense. Her heart wanted to be with him but she knew what would happen to him if he joined the celebrity world. She was annoying herself with all these confusing feelings. Why couldn’t he go fall for some nice girl? Why her?
Still, as much as she thought that, she didn’t want him to like someone else. She was greedy in that manner. Kimberly probably would have still liked him if he didn’t like her (that’s just how she fell) but it seemed to give her too many options for him to do that. What she should have done instead of running after him was let him go and blow off steam. Don’t give him the wrong idea. Maybe it would be easier on him if she didn’t give him any hints. That she didn’t like him back. The entire thing was enough to make her head throb. She could already feel it as she was putting her head down. The bun, though loose on her head, felt like it was pulling down with this new headache she was collecting. She reached up and took her hair out, letting the absolute knotted mess fall down onto her shoulders. Yeah, she defiantly wasn’t done up in the least bit. If she just stayed in the shadows like she was supposed to, it wouldn’t matter anyway. She’d just storm upstairs and let the heartache put her to sleep.
Putting words into his mouth though. After what he said, how could she have thought it any different? Damn his stupid perfect accent that went along with it. ”What else am I supposed to do then, huh? My options aren’t exactly unlimited.” She told him with what sounded like an annoyed tone. That was the part he didn’t seem to understand. Perhaps if she had been a girl new to the neighborhood, she would have got all kinds of attention, but the clubs knew her. The people around her age and older knew her. Hell, some chick all the way in California might have known her. Still, even past all that, Kale seemed to know her better than she knew herself. It was frustrating. Even as he was standing in front of her, looking as mad as hell, they still seemed to be in this tangled struggle. The best thing would have been to let him go, but alas. Kimberly’s heart sank to fast and too hard at the thought of him leaving. Damn, damn, damn.
For a moment, it didn’t seem like he was going to come back. Sure, he stopped, but he didn’t move past that point, as if he were debating. Oh, she could have just imagined his face right then. Even when he turned around, she didn’t look at his face. Her eyes were staring straight at her hands, waiting for her to hear the dreaded footsteps that would make him leave. She thought about saying it once more, but if the first two weren’t going to do anything, she was just wasting her breath. He must have known what was best for him. An aching feeling came over her at first, but then she heard the footsteps. Her head didn’t look up just by instinct, not quite ready for the impact of his body again. She felt the warmth before she felt him and she embraced his hug, burying her face in his chest. There were small moments like these where she felt like they could last forever. She read that on several books. ‘The moment lasted forever’ and she thought it was the dumbest phrase to reach the planet. Yet, now, she understood what it meant. She understood fully. She wanted him to stay, smell his scent (even more powerful with her werewolf senses), look upon his face.
She didn’t look upon his face until he spoke again, glad he could stay for a little while. Though clearly not long enough. That wasn’t a big surprise though. For probably the first time that night (and what it felt like- that whole fucking week) she smiled. The Kimmi smile that was dearly missed. ”Thank you Kale.” The moment had caught her up so much that she saw it was starting to rain. Her head shook with the water drops like a dog and they seemed alright until there was a flash of lightning, followed by the booming thunder. Man, the storm was close. The only thing that bugged her about the thunder was how fragile her dogs ear were, but it wasn’t bad. It seemed that she was hurried a little bit into the house though. She didn’t like the sprinkling rain so she scurried inside, shutting the giant mansion door behind her as she passed. She loved watching the lightning storms, despite the sound. Her hand grabbed Kale’s, ”Come on, I have to show you my view.” She told him. In the few times Kale had been there, she couldn’t remember him going up to her room. Her favorite place in the mansion was her balcony. Balcony fit for a princess. Though they were going to be watching from the window’s perspective, the beauty of the city streets could still be seen. They could talk up there.
She led him through a giant staircase to the second bedroom on the left. Because of the housekeeping, it was pretty well kept and clean. She hopped over on her bouncy bed that faced her balcony- seeing the double French doors. The vie was a little distorted by the rain, but the shinning lights were still visible for all to see. Looking over at Kale, she criss crossed her legs, ”Kale, why did you come here?” She asked once again. He hadn’t answered her before, but she hoped that he was calmed enough now to answer her. It didn’t matter if the reason was ‘I felt like it’. She just wanted to know. Her mind would come up with ridiculous stories if he didn’t.

The only reason he didn’t admit that he should be the one to be with her right then and there was because he was afraid. He was scared to admit that he had feelings for her to her face. Of course he liked her and wanted to be with her, but she so obviously didn’t want to be with him and he didn’t want to point that out yet again. Kale also didn’t want to get rejected by her. he hated that feeling and didn’t want her to throw it into his face that she would never go for a guy like him. he wasn’t the kind of guy Kimmi ever went after. She liked the “bad boy” or something, which Kale was definitely not. He was just a sweet southern gentleman that tended to go for… well the bad girls. Why was it that people always went after the ones that they knew would never give them the same kind of commitment? She was a wild child and wanted to sleep with everything that let her, and he was completely opposite of her. he liked relationships and feeling like you could tell them anything. It wasn’t like he cared what other people did. By all means if you want to fuck some random person, go for it. But that wasn’t the kind of guy he was. if he had the chance, he would be with Kimmi, but she wouldn’t want their relationship to be the same as Kale would. It’d be a one and done kind of thing for her.
As much as he hated that she went around sleeping with different people all the time, he couldn’t make her change anything. He didn’t want her to change who she was, because she was perfect that way. He really only wanted what was best for her. not what her manager thought was best for her, but what would actually make her happier. He looked at her, his eyes still full of some anger. “For one, you could stop listening to that dumbass manager you have who’s jus’ tryin’ to throw you around like some package of meat. Do what the fuck you wanna do instead of what other people tell you what to do.” He sighed a long, heavy sigh to try and exhale the anger that began to fume once more. It wasn’t that he was exactly angry at her, of course, but that she wouldn’t stand up for herself and what she wanted. He hated seeing someone lose so much control over their lives because they let someone else take the wheel. Especially someone he genuinely cared about.
As he walked closer to her and she didn’t look up, he bit his lip. It might have been a mistake to go back to her, but just looking at how vulnerable she was made his heart clench in his chest. He could never say no to a face like that. Not in a million years could he make her cry or make her sad. Leaving her now after asking him to stay like that would not only crush her feelings, but would do the same to him. And that was just something he couldn’t take. When he felt her smile on his chest, one tugged at his own lips. And then she thanked him, which surprised him. He didn’t say anything, but he did finally let that smile spread wide.
Because he hurried her along, they got into the house rather quickly. He really, really hated lightning. He was glad that she didn’t ask why he ushered her along so quickly because then he would have to go into the story behind why he hated lightning. It was a tragic one, but one he hated telling. Kimberly grabbed his hand, which made him lose any train of thought, and he looked down where her hand was in his. Before he could say anything, she tugged on it and started into her house. “View?” he asked as they went upstairs. He had barely even seen the foyer of this place, much less her view. Though he could only imagine how beautiful it was when it wasn’t raining. The place seemed so huge. It was a wonder how someone didn’t get lost in a place like this.
He dropped his hand to bounce over her bed so that she could look out through the double doors to her balcony. He walked past the bed and went to the doors to see the city stretch farther down than he could see due to the rain. The lights were beautiful though, and it was a picture he wished he had his camera here to take. He crossed his arms and wondered how many other mansions like this had such wonderful views. He couldn’t even imagine living in something like this. It was too much room for him for not enough people, and he would always feel alone. Kale wondered if Kimberly felt alone in this big place, or if she liked it instead.
Her question made him remember exactly why he had come here. He would rather not talk about it, but if he didn’t he would feel weird and he would have to lie. Kale was a lousy liar. He could never look people in the eyes when he told one. So instead of lying, he told her exactly why he had come. “Uh. Well, it’s kinda an awkward story actually.” |
He didn’t turn towards her simply because he was turning bright red and was embarrassed. “My sister has this friend named Lucas, ya see? And he came knockin’ on our door. Since Kent and my dad sleep through just about anythin’ I was the one who answered. Lucas was drunk off his ass and came onto me.” He tried not to let the anger at Lucas get to him again, so he spoke more quickly. “And then I punched him in the face, and Kent came down, so I left. And I ain’t have nowhere else to go so I came here.” Kale glanced back at Kimberly quickly before returning his gaze to the view. A flash of lightning struck and made him jump slightly. He took a deep breath and stepped a little further away from the doors. Since he wanted to quickly change the subject, he asked, “Do you like stayin’ in this big ole place?” [/div] ♥ ♥ ♥ template by hay shay ! @ caution 2.0 LYRICS BY MIRANDA LAMBERT

YOU DON'T WANT ME LIKE I WANT YOU you don't need me like i need you Making choices wasn’t really Kimmi’s strong point, as probably proven by about at the very least one thousand people in the world. It was even more ironic because most of the choices she made weren’t hers anyways. It was one of the reasons she was horrible at it was because she had very little times to actually do it. Making decisions was one of the hard thing she had to in her career every once in a while. Most of the time, she just asked someone else to choose for her. Kimberly couldn’t figure out what to had for breakfast in the morning or what outfit to pick. It was picked out for her pretty much from night to day. The only thing she picked was who she hooked up with. That was one of the reasons why she went out so much. Plus, it was hard not to be favored in the club because of being literally as beautiful as a model.
Maybe that’s why hearing Kale say all of that really baffled her. She saw his angry eyes spitting all of that out and she made a noise that sounded like she was about to retort but couldn’t think of anything. Like a strange gasp. It made her feel a little more emotional so she kept the same face that she had before, clamping her lips together before she looked away like this was the most unbelievable thing she had ever heard. Her head turned back to him with confidence even though she felt like she was going to blow away from that look, ”You don’t think I’ve thought about that? Kale, I can’t do anything else! The closest I can come to is probably a stripper, but that’s usually hand in hand with prostitution and I’m not going to do that.” Though she might as well been a prostitute. Yes, she had thought about it, but again- the only choice she seemed to have was who she hooked up with. When she was on the street with a man with money, there wasn’t much she had. Not to mention it was as frightening as hell. She saw some of the creeps walking those streets. Protecting herself wasn’t exactly a strong point.
She didn’t know what to categorize herself as. Weak or strong. Kimmi was strong enough to take quite a bit coming her way but clearly she was just as fragile as any girl. Kale just threatening to leave did that. Made her look down and hope that something went through his head to think to turn back. She wasn’t sure if she would. Though she probably wouldn’t have come here in the first place. All she knew was that she was lighting up that he stayed. Laying in his arms for a moment while she took the small moment she had with him. Just because they couldn’t get together, didn’t mean she couldn’t enjoy the moments like this. Especially since she was pretty wild in the head still from… gah, earlier. Stupid rain was forcing her to break apart, and going from his warmth to the regular air in the mansion made her feel a little cold. Goosebumps filled her arms as her hand squeezed Kale, feeling like she was dragging him all over the place. She’d offer him a tour but honestly- she felt a little silly showing someone like Kale all the crap she had. Here, look at all this nice stuff. That’s all it was. Stuff.
View was probably the only thing of true value. Well now it was just a foggy window that was distorted by the rain that was starting to drain from it. Her hands gripped her arms, still feeling a little chilly. Her hands dragged a small blanket and wrapped it around herself as she saw Kale look out the windows. Now that things were calmer, she herself felt a little calmer. Not so crazy in the mind and more… she wasn’t sure what the feeling was. A little sleepy but peaceful. This feeling only came around when she was with Kinsley or when she was at her home with her parents. ”Well it’s better when it’s not… you know, pouring.” she commented softly, putting the blanket to her nose, burying her face in it similar to the way she had to Kale earlier. Her big blue eyes just blinked at him, noticing he wasn’t looking at her when he started to tell what was going on. Awkward story? Her gaze just continued to look at him, blinking while she hid the bottom half of her face in it.
She wasn’t sure if she should have been thinking this at the moment (since she felt she didn’t know Kale very well) but she thought he looked rather… nervous telling her this. There was something that really extremely bothered him in this story and she wasn’t sure what it was. It sounded like a very good reason to punch them. If she had such thing as rejection, she’d probably learn a couple of punches too. There had been some guys she pushed away, but they got it. What was really interesting was to hear the interesting details in between. Kimmi knew she should have been focusing on the moral but she was focusing on the fact that Kale lived with his sister and his dad- who both slept like rocks. It was cute. ”Are you going back tonight?” She asked. For once, she wasn’t implying anything. Her mind was too busy circling around Kale that she didn’t even realize what that might have sounded like. Honestly if he wanted to stay there, he could have. There had to be a billion and a half rooms. She suppressed a giggle when she imagined him getting completely lost.
In his thick southern accent, he asked her how she liked living here. Should she tell him? Ah, why not. It wasn’t really one of the secrets that she was trying to bound inside of her. This one was pretty public. Especially since she made a bad habit of taking her annoyance out on the maids. She wouldn’t be surprised if one day she went to bed with spiders in her bed because they were sick and tired of her. The only reassuring thing was she paid a little more than the average salary, so it made them grunt and put up with it. ”Not really. It’s pretty, but that’s all. I have a separate little piece of land that is my home. This is just a place I live in.” She told him, putting her chin on top of her knees covering the blanket. Not bad. A twenty year old with two houses. One home, but two houses. Her eyes glimmered at him, hoping that he was as calm as she was…. He had been very upset. So had Kimberly but being the typical woman- could snap out of it much easier. Not to mention it was even easier still with Kale around.

He didn’t want to scare her or anything. He really just wanted her to understand why he could be so angry with her on something like this. He really liked her for one, and he thought she knew that. And she sure as hell knew how much Kale hated that asshole Tyler from the party. She could literally not have picked anyone worse to choose. He was a cocky son of a bitch that made kale madder in one night than he had been in the entire last year combined. And that was saying something. the kid just didn’t know how to treat a lady at all, much less with respect or integrity, so when he tried to get with Kimmi, Kale just sapped all over again. sure he acted semi-okay at the ball compared to how he was just a little while ago, but he also hadn’t known of just how deeply his feelings for Kimmi ran. He could barely believe it himself.
No one had gotten Kale’s attention so quickly, nor had they ever made him want to go out of his way just to go see them after just a few weeks of knowing them. Kale was the kind of guy that took it so slowly that the girls thought that he only thought of them as a friend. But Kimmi was different. He knew that there was something about her that was unlike any other person he had ever known. It was a scary thought, but he didn’t hide from it. In fact, he had found himself staying up late at night thinking about what it was that made her so unique. So far he had come up with nothing at all other than the fact that she drove him absolutely nuts sometimes, but he loved it. He also loved that she had this sweet side that hardly anyone knew about. He was glad that he was one of those few people, because her sweet side made his knees weak. She was just the damn cutest thing and it made Kale’s heart skip.
And now he sounded like a teenage girl. He wanted to kick himself for even thinking half of the crap he just did, but he knew it was all true. And when she talked so down about herself it just made him want to scream some more. She just didn’t see how wrong she was. Kale would really like to tell her how wrong she was, and was so tempted that he almost did. Except he then thought of how hurt it could make her. It was probable and he didn’t want to risk it, so instead he simply shook his head and said, “I understand just fine why you won’t tell your manager to fuck off.” He figured she was just too scared to tell that prick to shove it where the sun don’t shine. She didn’t want to know what could happen if she didn’t have him to fall back on. Well for one, people would probably like her more if she was more real with them instead of using that bitchy cover she had. It was just so damn frustrating.
He saw the look in her eyes and immediately regretted ever even saying anything. He forgot sometimes how harsh he could sound when he got mad. He wanted to give her a hug and apologize, so he did just that. “Sorry, Kimberly. I didn’t mean to sound so…insensitive,” he said in a hushed voice. After the lightning began and they were inside safely, he felt better, like a weight was lifted off of his shoulders finally. In any other situation, Kale would have probably kept his mouth shut about all of it because he had more self-control when he was normal. He didn’t let his emotions get the best of him nor did he blurt out things that should never be said. But he couldn’t help it. At least he had apologized though. It was the least he could do in this situation really.
Kale looked out of the balcony. It was a gorgeous site to see even with the rain. He bet the sun rise would be perfect from this angle, too. There were quite the few pictures he mentally took as he scanned the horizon. He much preferred it when he had models to shoot, but this scene would have been just as beautiful without one. “Yeah I bet,” he commented only half paying attention at this point. As another way to avoid the subject as to why he was here, he asked “You ever shoot anythin’ up here by chance?”
Unfortunately for him, Kimmi wouldn’t let up, so he finally gave in and told her what happened. He was as red as a lobster by the time he was done telling his little story and, even though it was probably just him overreacting to something that was barely even a big deal, hoped she didn’t notice how weird he felt about it. He was just not on the same page as Kentley when it came to homosexuality. Unlike many guys, he couldn’t even understand how two women would want to be together. He thought it was man with woman and that was it. Anything else was weird and gross, and he didn’t like it one bit. So being kissed by another guy was pretty much the only thing that could ever happen to Kale that he would want to puke after.
He looked back at her still sitting on the bed and shrugged. “I dunno. I think he’s stayin’ over, so if I go anywhere, it’ll be anywhere but home. I could probably stop by my friend Xel’s house. She probly won’t even notice I’m there,” |
he laughed a little thinking about her. She would probably be out still by the time he got there just because she liked to stay out into the wee hours of the morning. It was like she never got tired and could stay up for days without even getting haggard looking. It was incredible really how long she could go without sleeping. He wondered if she took medicine or something that kept her up longer than was supposed to be humanly possible, but never had the gall to ask. Kale was surprised to hear that she didn’t like living in a place like this. He would have thought this mansion would be perfect for someone like her. Man was she full of surprises. They were thrown at him left and right tonight. He smiled though and walked over to her. He sat next to her and put his hands on his knees. “You ain’t livin’ over there, why now?” he asked. It made no sense to him, just like the rest of tonight’s conversation outside earlier, but he also bet that she’d say something about her dickhead manager. Anything that had to deal with him made zero sense to Kale. [/div] ♥ ♥ ♥ template by hay shay ! @ caution 2.0 LYRICS BY MIRANDA LAMBERT

YOU DON'T WANT ME LIKE I WANT YOU you don't need me like i need you The pair could probably fight about telling her manager to scatter from her whole life all night. Kimberly had thought long and hard about this and she knew exactly why she couldn’t get away from him like she wanted to. Yet, even after all that thinking, Kale was making her second guess it. She wasn’t sure if it was because it was Kale or if she just wanted so hard to believe that there was a way that she could escape the grasp of living like pure royalty without having the cool authorities of ruling anything. It was as if she got the punishments and responsibilities of a royal, but for no reason. It was also pretty nice to have someone else actually generally seemed to care for her enough that they wanted to get her away from all the bad influences. Never was Kale going to be allowed to see Kimmi in a club. She had been watching for the time where he got lost and wandered in there. Or went with a friend. She’d have to run and hide. Oh, he’d never look at her the same again.
He had no idea how long she had been dealing with this guy. Yet, Kale seemed more sick of him than Kimmi did. Kimberly’s was more inner, she supposed. At that moment, it really looked like Kale was exploding with all kinds of angry emotion. At her, at her manager, at Tyler, and whatever else it was that was bothering him. She couldn’t say he hadn’t seen him mad before (well more of shouting and cussing the guy out while Kimmi was practically in shreds by Talia), but it hadn’t been directed at her. Or at least at her. She wouldn’t have come ten feet from Kale if she hadn’t known him better. What Tyler thought about just pushing this guy’s button she had no idea. Then again, Tyler wasn’t the brightest crayon in the box. One of the reasons why she picked him. No one else was going to be available on that quick of a whim. No one she would try to corrupt anyway. Sometimes when finding nice guys, she backed off quite a bit. As much fun as it was, she felt like she was… corrupting them. But it wasn’t always she kept her word on that.
It was very obvious that Kale wanted nothing more than to drop it. It was just making him hotter and hotter. Kimberly sometimes wish she had been cursed with immortality instead of werewolf full moon shizz. She wanted to know what was possibly going through his head. Maybe speaking what was wrong out loud wasn’t going to help him any. Maybe it was just her life of being the subject of the press, but Kimmi herself was pretty nosey and would never be afraid to ask questions if she was curious. It was just that the majority of the time, she could really care less. When she did care about something, she was all over it. Just saying ‘I’m fine’ wasn’t really a proper answer. Her life had been entirely exposed so it didn’t make sense for others to keep a secret to one person. She understood… some of it, but little things, like maybe what could have been bothering him. But what did she know? A normal life wasn’t in her knowledge basis. It was only what she observed.
She wanted to drop her jaw at his words. Instead, she just stared at him as if he said ‘sorry I didn’t mean to show a flaw’ Insensitive? All the things she had heard in her life, a lot more fierce and a ton more foul. He just had a minor set back and… back to being perfect yet again. She wasn’t sure how much more she could take of this. It was going to make her explode or something. Strange, considering she hadn’t felt that feeling before. She thought she had at one point, but it had been so insignificant compared to this one. None of it made sense to her. At one hand, she wanted it to stop so she could go on, but this was better than anything she had felt before. It made her happy. Kimmi was pretty lonely, actually. Just the feeling of not having many there while she watched happy couples. She always envied those couples. Silently of course. Kale may have not been what she wanted (and never would be) but he did make her feel less of that. ”Oh jeez, Kale, you’re fine.” She said with a small laugh that was no more than a poof of air, ”Never insensitive. And I told you before, Kimberly shouldn’t be in your dictionary anymore.” She told him, blinking brightly, suppressing a giggle. She despised when people she wasn’t okay with called her Kimmi, so she felt like Kimberly was so… official.
Especially now. Kimmi was a little afraid to step on glass with him right now, but he seemed that he was in a much better mood. These were moments that she knew were going to be in her head for so long. Tonight there was no way she was getting sleep with her mind replaying it over and over. With dreams filling her head. The memories like this that made her stomach turn while she thought. It may not have appeared like it, but she was grasping in every moment. No matter what he was doing that night, he was going to have to go home eventually. At the name of a female friend’s house, she pricked. Whoa. Wait. Kimberly did get jealous, don’t get her wrong. She was jealous of people with childhoods, closer families, happier lives, but never this before. Not a good sign. As if that was just motivation to keep him here, she piped up, ”You can stay here.” She offered, feeling that she didn’t even need to extend on how much room this place had. There were no pull out couches in this place. No everything was built with design and perfection. Like a castle.
She watched as he sat over to her bed and seemed perplexed. Of course, spoiled princess would love a place like this, but man, she was so tired of being nothing but the spoiled princess. The room was built for a princess, honestly. Someone could come down and be just fine with it. Selling it would probably set her for the rest of her life. If it weren’t for the fact money had zero value to her. ”I don’t want to bother my mother with driving here in the middle of the night to come get me.” She said sadly. Once she realized there was tone in her voice, she just snapped formal again. Even with Kale, it was just habit. Especially after the tone was something she used rarely. Sadness was probably the most suppressed and buried. With a light shrug, she scooted closer to Kale, trailing her blanket along with her.

Kale couldn’t be sure where his anger came from when it came to her manager. It was probably because he tried to control every little thing Kimberly did, but there was something else to it. He had a funny feeling about him, like he knew him from before. He couldn’t pinpoint where he could have ever really known her manager from, but there was something so familiar about him that is so aggravating that he couldn’t quite pin point about him. He was sure it had something to do with his controlling attitude. Then it hit him. He wasn’t just some controlling dick; he was something of a bully. All of those years he had been bullied, he had been told time and time again what to do. It wasn’t just about making fun of his weight, it was telling him that he needed to stop eating so he wouldn’t be so disgusting. There was one boy in particular, Taylor was his name, and Taylor was the one who would always poke fun at him in the locker room and ridicule him. It was some of his most embarrassing moments he’d ever been through.
Kimmi had no idea of his past. She didn’t know of the nightmares he sometimes had of those days. She couldn’t possibly know hard he had had it, and he doubted she would ever be interested in his past. It was just too much to ask for her to be interested in him as something more than a friend. But if he couldn’t have her as anything else, he’d take it. At least he would be able to be there for her if she ever needed it. It was the least he could do since she was all he ever fucking thought about anymore. I mean, it was actually kind of annoying him by now. And yet, he did nothing to stop it by coming here tonight. He would probably yearn for her even more now. And he couldn’t leave just yet. He had only just gotten here, and she asked him to stay for a while, and he knew even if he wanted to he couldn’t leave right now.
He knew he would probably be at her beck and call; whenever she needed him he’d be there. He’d drop everything for this girl, and she had no idea. She probably never would either because he would be too much of a coward to express his feelings for her. He didn’t want to hear her reject him verbally; he had gotten enough hints over the past few weeks to understand that she wasn’t interested in him that way. She threw herself at that fucking Tyler kid enough times that he got the picture now. And he would eventually move on. He wouldn’t be Kimberly’s little pet forever… except he probably would.
Kale would rather talk about anything than what had happened earlier that night before he had come over here in a panic. It wasn’t like he meant to take all of his anger out on Tyler, but he already hated that guy, so it was better than taking it out on Kimberly. But she had this way about her that made him talk, even when he didn’t want to. If he could be annoyed with her about anything it’s probably be that. And after he explained his situation, she laughed at him. His brows furrowed together and he was a little stunned. “Fine?” he asked astonished. How in the hell was he fine? A dude just groped him. And one his sister’s friends was the one who did it. How in the world could he be fine? “But a fuckin’ dude just grabbed my dick. How does that make me fine?” he asked not even caring about her second sentence. He began to pace the room a little and, out of habit, bit his thumbnail as he thought.
Kimberly—who had just told him to stop calling her that—obviously didn’t understand how he felt about homosexuality. It was one of those things that he could legitimately not stomach. He was surprised he hadn’t done more than just punch Lucas in the face that night. But Kentley could have been half of the reason he hadn’t done more to him. Lucas was lucky that she had come and saved him or else he was sure he would have fucked his face up pretty darn good.
He sat down on the bed and looked at her. Those big eyes got him to calm down a little more, and he shrugged. “You think I’m not insensitive?” he asked suddenly now wondering about her statement. “Kimmi…” he said softly, just to say it. He smiled and looked at the ground before running his hands through his messy hair. Kale didn’t even notice Kimmi’s jealousy because he was still smiling a little about Xel. But he did hear her offer and looked over at her with that same grin. “Really?” It wasn’t that he didn’t think that she would offer to let him stay…except it was just that. Even if they were friends he didn’t think she would want him here. He didn’t know why, but he had a feeling sometimes that she’d rather be anywhere but next to him. It was probably just his insecurities coming out again and he couldn’t help those. But it did feel nice when she told him he could stay here with her. “Thanks, Kimmi.”
Maybe there was more to her than met the eye. She obviously had something bothering her. He figured her pride was probably keeping her from saying anything though. But she did. And then she scooted closer to him and his face fell. He bit the inside of his cheek and noted the sadness in her voice. He put her arm around her shoulders and rubbed the side of her arm. He knew how tough it could be to not be with your mom because he hadn’t seen his in thirteen years. Thinking about his mom was always tough. His heart clenched in his chest and he cleared his throat. “How come she doesn’t live here with you? Lord knows there’s enough room here…” he said and looked around. He glanced back at Kimmi and gave her a half smile.

YOU DON'T WANT ME LIKE I WANT YOU you don't need me like i need you With the way they were now, it was hard to belief that Kimberly wanted nothing but to get away from him. A small part of her wish he would just so her life wouldn’t be complicated, but the rest of her knew very well that wouldn’t help anything. She’d always want him around- especially now. Eventually he was going to move and find some girl and where was Kimmi going to find herself then? If he found a girl, it better be some fucking goddess. No, more than that. Goddess were more of what form Kimberly would be in. The beautiful radiant woman that just seduced everyone to get what she wanted. Noticed that most goddess in history were like that? So in other words, maybe he shouldn’t find that. He needed to find some girl who was having self-esteem issues but sweet, kind, and always willing to help anyone who needed it. Then he’d find her and fix her all up and make her happy again. Even with that, she wouldn’t be fully happy but it would be closest she’d get.
At first, she didn’t understand why he looked at her like she just told him to slap himself in the face. His face didn’t show that light happy Kale that she first met. He still looked furious. Her own brows went together and the light laugh she made was gone. She frowned, slightly puzzled, but seeing where that translation went wrong. It was like stepping in glass again. She stepped in the wrong spot when she meant to just leap over it. Kimberly had to slightly wonder if it would have been the same angry story if a chick would have done it. Because she would have expected him to just blush bright red and wander away like the adorable self he was. That made her a little nervous. She decided not to tell him that one time she hooked up with an Ellis chick. That should probably be kept to her grave, just to be safe. ”Oh, no, no, Kale, you misunderstood me.” She told him, in a calm enough mood where all she had to do was shake her head. Maybe she was just so tired. After not being able to sleep and all this emotional trama. It took a lot of energy to care. ”I meant you didn’t sound insensitive. ” Yes, he sounded like a lot of things, but she wouldn’t have put him in that category. Even if he had been, she would have never seen it.
That southern accent was going to be the death of her. She just knew it. What made matters stranger was she didn’t even know why it was like that. Just something about it made her insides twist. The worst was when she said her name. She gave him a smile when he repeated her name. The name was supposed to say. And he said it so softly and sweetly in the twang she could listen to all day. She could listen to anything he said. The hardest part was for her to keep focus on the actual words he was saying. This man should have been a speaking model. He could go on a commercial and advertise anything and there would be billions of people going to buy whatever product he commanded. That was pretty much the only department she knew of, and knew that his photos were way too good for him to be in front anyway. Maybe if they could just get him to be a camera model. Though he didn’t have the right personality for most models. Very rarely did you got a generally gold hearted one. She was sure they existed, but they had to be hella strong.
Kale almost looked like he was ready for her to smack a just kidding at him, but she just nodded at his question. Did he get the impression that she didn’t like him? That was the general impression that was given by Kimberly Wilson, but she didn’t mean to with him. Well- now. At first, that had been the intention. She never really explained why she did things the way she did fully but Kale got the jest of it. How in the world that boy didn’t think that she wouldn’t enjoy his company was beyond her. Silly Kale. She almost wanted to reassure him, but the words were having a hard time coming on her lips. It made her nervous. For no reason at all. He should know that she liked spending time with him if that was the problem. But every time she went to open her mouth for something among those lines, she got really hot and decided not to speak. Speaking her mind hadn’t really been a problem for her until now. Now she seemed to see what other people were coming from. When you actually cared. ”Once you’re tired, let me know.” She told him lightly. She was tired, but she wasn’t going to move him unless she had to.
That was always the question, wasn’t it? Why didn’t her mom come here? Her mom enjoyed this place as much as Kimberly did. She could imagine the first couple of years had to be as fun as hell. Going from where they were and then a famous child gets them a mansion. Oh they must have shown it off for years. But now once they saw how lonely and echoey the house was, they got the smaller one. Still, she felt the warmth around her shoulders and that just made her lean more. He was so easy to snuggle into. She didn’t even have to move to fall asleep. Staying there all night would have suited her fine. Kimmi almost forgot to answer, ”The other house is more… homey. The place is really too big for three people alone.” It just dawned on her she probably shouldn’t talk and whine about not seeing her mother a weekend when what happened to Kale’s did. She had the urge to ask him about that, but that wasn’t a nice subject to bring up just because she was curious. Oh, she wanted to know everything about this boy. Just was too afraid to bring it up. ”But you know, it’s not bad. I’m fine.” She tried to reassure, having a wall up. She wasn’t fine with it, but sounding like a whinny bitch wasn’t what she wanted to put off to Kale. If it would be anyone to change that image for, it’d be him.

Kale thought most highly of Kimmi even after hearing—hell, even seeing—the bad things about her. He wasn’t the kind of person that judged a book by its cover and he wouldn’t judge Kimmi from the little bit he had seen. Kale had found who Kimmi really was the night of the winter ball. She was sweet, gentle, and loving. But she hardly ever showed it. Kale knew that there was more to Kimmi than she lead on, but there were too many opportunities to get hurt. So that was why, at least he guessed, she held those walls so high; so she couldn’t get hurt, which he was sure had happened before once or twice. He had been hurt before and he knew how painful it was getting over something like that, but Kale was an open book. He let almost all of his feelings shine through and if you didn’t like that, then it wasn’t his problem. Kale didn’t get upset over things like that, but he also wasn’t a dick about it. Maybe he was something of a pushover when it came to people like Kimmi, who was able to boss her around and twirl him around her perfect little finger, but he wouldn’t want anyone else to do it. He thought the world of her and she didn’t even seem to realize that. Since he was still a little afraid of her rejection, he hadn’t made his move. Kimmi had made it clear the night of the winter ball that she didn’t like him as more than just a friend, so he had decided that he wouldn’t humiliate himself like that.
"Oh... well good." He sighed with relief when she had told him that he misunderstood what she meant. Kale was a lot of things, but insensitive wasn’t one of them. At that he no longer felt so angry. He started to breathe more easily and was able to push the sickening thoughts of Lucas behind him. He was with Kimmi now and he supposed that was what mattered. Kale smiled back at her as she smiled when he spoke her name. It was nice to know that she could calm him down with the smallest of gestures. Kale usually didn’t get as mad as he had tonight. In fact that was probably one of the worst hissy fits he had thrown though he couldn’t help it when that dickhead Tyler started mouthing off to him. That boy was in the wrong place at the most wrong of times. If Kimmi hadn’t have been there, he would have done more to that punk, but he didn’t want to look like a maniac in front of her.
There was something that made his heart clench tightly in his chest. He knew it was probably a bit of a bad idea to stay here, but it was raining and the closest friend he had was a while away. He supposed just one night wasn’t going to hurt so he accepted her invitation. He’d probably end up staying in one of the other seven beds in this mansion anyways, so he shouldn’t be worried about anything. Kale was more or less a traditional man. He believed in the Lord and feared him as he rightfully should, he courted women before even trying to get them into bed—unless he was with his acquaintance Kellin in which case he often got a little too drunk to control himself and ended up going home with a woman, and he treated women like they were princesses. He almost felt weird thinking of sleeping here when they were friends, but then he decided that it was perfectly normal for friends to sleep over at each other’s houses and that he was overthinking this entire thing. After all, he had spent the night at Xel’s house plenty of times and nothing ever happened or felt remotely as weird as this. It was probably because he liked Kimmi a lot and felt different about her than he did Xel. But he was just going to have to get over it. “Will do,” he said with a sweet grin.
Kale’s lips turned downward a little. If he lived here all by himself there was no doubt that he would have at least a dog or two, maybe even three, to keep him company. “You could get a dog?” Kale made it more of a question to see if she’d even want a puppy. He despised being alone. He would go work out or go somewhere just so he could be doing something or have some company. He didn’t like sitting around a lot and thought he’d go crazy when he had to sit still for too long. It was half the reason school was so damn hard for him. Having to sit in a classroom for an hour was like torture for the guy. He’d rather do it online at his own pace or something.

YOU DON'T WANT ME LIKE I WANT YOU you don't need me like i need you Maybe it was a good thing she didn’t hook up with Tyler that night. She was getting sleepy. And god knows that she would probably end up offending him by saying she would rather she just roll over and sleep. No, she wouldn’t have blamed him for being offended, but it had to be the truth. Kale recommended she let go and told the truth a little more, but she still felt herself wondering if that was the right case. Sometimes it just felt like she was so exposed. Like she was letting off her shield ready for someone to throw the knife at her vulnerable spot. She truly hated the feeling. Looking at him now made her feel a little better about the whole thing though. Clearly the girl was willing to fight for him. Even if she hated Talia with her guts, it wasn’t really like her to fight. Her werewolf form scared her too much. It was this feeling of losing control and she wasn’t able to get it back without so much work. Things were simpler when she was human.
She seemed to calm him down a little bit she realized as she watched him take a breath in and out of relief. Her heart thudded a little bit when she did realize it. So it wasn’t the fact that he could make her snap and beg for him back after trying to pretend she was very upset about him just showing up out of nowhere. It gave her some hope, but she shot it back as quickly as it came. Even if Kale had felt for her that way, she couldn’t. There was no way she was getting him into the media stuff. It was hard enough with friends like Kinsley and Autumn. It was as if he was going to step outside of the door and have cameras all around his face. They could sneak around, but she wasn’t sure if he was going to like that very much. Kale didn’t seem like the type that wanted to be hidden away from the rest of the world. Although, that would make her feel a little better. Her eyes glanced down to her painted glossed fingernails and then back up at him. At this point, she was caring less and less he was seeing her in this condition. It seemed that he had to be the only person in the world besides her parents that had seen her through all the worst times.
This also had to be the first time a guy that wasn’t related to her was staying in another room. Without her. She tried to avoid her bedroom at most costs because she was the one that had to sleep in it by the end of the day. Sometimes things would get… messy. She would have the maids clean it up right away (to a point where they saw it was just a matter of routine whenever she came home pretty late) but it didn’t make her feel any better. That didn’t always work though. It would have worked with Tyler, perhaps, but some of the other men she met. As she was thinking of it, she felt like she didn’t believe herself. At the time, it seemed that she was so attracted to them she was barely able to walk. However, when she was looking about it now while Kale was in the room, it seemed like it was just her at the time being stupid. Perhaps it was. However, based on experiences in the past, she was going to put it on Kale. A large yawn came out of the werewolf’s mouth, even as he told her ‘will do’. ”If I fall asleep before you do, it’s three doors to the right if you turn left out of here.” She told him with a sleepy grin, ”It’s the one with the navy theme.” Each room with it’s own theme, she gave her dad the navy one. Not that he ever used it. Just fun to have ‘your own room’.
There was a small groan that came out of her lips even though a bright smile appeared on her face. She could just see it. Running around her floors, barking so loudly that it would echo off of the walls and spook it. She actually made herself giggle with the thought of it. ”I’ve always wanted one. I’ve just… never gotten around to getting one.” Not only would it have gotten rejected by her never being here, but it was hard to get one. Sure, somewhere else, they could go the pound, sign a few papers, and get one. Here in the upper state, they wanted to make sure that all homes were clean and well taken care of. Which seemed mixed around, but she didn’t make up the rules. Those were some of the few rules that she was told to use. Cheating on the policy to help animals would have gotten her the worse publicity, even if it wasn’t as it appeared. A shame really. ”Like one of the little ones…” She smiled, giving hand gestures to tell what size she meant. It didn’t have to be the same of a large mouse, but big dogs seemed… strange considering what situation she was in. A big dog would probably want to fight the werewolf lurking outside of the windows. The little dog would bark and then run away as soon as it got the chance. That way no heartbreaken messes would be waiting for her when she returned.
