OVERALL:
Eryn is a beautiful brainchild. She loves learning and books and movies, and really is the hot nerd you think doesn't exist. She's good at all kinds of video games, but far prefers PC and will gladly kick ass and kill time on it all day. Smart and funny and passionate, she loves being in the classroom, and helping her students understand what they thought they'd never grasp. Eryn's also a daddy's girl, and inclined to talk with him about everything. You want to remain friends with Eryn, when/if you meet her dad, you make a good impression. And if you perhaps manage to move beyond the friendzone, a romantic gesture will go a long long way; she's really moved by romance, despite her toughie, brilliant exterior.

Like anybody, she's got flaws- she talks too much in a very fiery way, and is easily riled. That might be due, in part, to some of her werewolf genetics, but she's not really sure. What she does know- or has been led to believe- is that she's weak on the werewolf scale, and so chooses to run pack-less. She doesn't want to run the risk of pissing off the wrong person. Fortunately though, she is damn difficult to kill, since she's immune to silver, doesn't have to shift with the moon, and still has all those heightened werewolf abilities.

Eryn is an only child, product of a soulmate pair. Her dad- an immortal- was around for a very very long time before he met and- after much drama and ridiculous courtship- fell in love with her gorgeous werewolf mother. It would be a few years before Eryn was born, and they were a supremely happy family, nurturing and sweet and loving. The love between her parents is really what kindled Eryn's strong belief in romance and soulmates.

In an attempt to spare Eryn from prejudice and potential problems, Coral ingrained her with the idea that she's weak in the werewolf world, when- in fact- she is much stronger. You can't blame Coral; even if her daughter was strong, being ganged up on by other wolves would be catastrophic. So Eryn still believes this, having never tested it, and preferring to be alone anyway.

Watching Coral age and die while they never did was very difficult for Eryn and Carter, and while it bonded them together, it tore them up inside. Luckily, Coral was a strong trooper until the end, and quietly passed in her sleep one night, in Carter's arms. See, Coral refused to sell her soul to stay with them forever, because she believed it was important to keep. Without her mother in her life, Eryn decided she needed a job- or something- to occupy her time, and turned to looking. Nobody would take her seriously as an intelligent being, but constantly noticed how pretty she was. And in a day when women weren't equals, the pressure to be pretty and pleasing was quite high. Eventually, she took to being a pin-up model- and still has quite a few large portfolios with her pictures and posters in them to prove it- for about ten years. She has a great fear that somebody- especially her daddy- will find out about this and not take her seriously anymore. It's part of why she got out of it, and the other had to do with the fact that her agent and photographers were starting to get uppity and suspicious about her lack of aging. That's when things were looking up on the equality front, and she decided to go back to school, and actually pursue something she loved.

She took to teaching like a fish to water, and has been doing it for a great many years since. A love for math and technology has labeled Eryn as a nerd, and she wears the title proudly- going so far as to attend Comicon and participate in cosplay- like she's gotten to do since the term was invented. She only got offered the position at the university about five years ago and has been quite happy in Manuka, since she moved, gaining friends and acquaintances very easily, since she adapts fairly quickly as well.
