overall, rowan is a shy girl. she isn't very comfortable being around or talking to anyone outside of her family. considering the size of her family, having people to talk to isn't an issue. of all of her siblings, rowan has a particular fondness for damon, especially so now that riley is dead. her family has dubbed her the shy one, which she hates if only because it embarrasses her to no end. within her family, rowan tends to be open and talkative with most of the members. fletcher especially, since he is her favorite cousin and she hangs out with him all the time. the girl is probably most herself whenever she's with either damon or fletcher.

as far as out-of-family is concerned, rowan tends to be very quiet. the girl is often 'the girl in the corner' because she would rather sit in the back of the room and keep to herself instead of making friends with others in her class. this probably has something to do with the fact that her family has taught her to not like humans so she prefers to not talk to them. that, paired with her shyness, leaves her with little to no friends in her class even though she herself doesn't see this as a problem because she loves her alone time.

rowan had a good, mostly normal childhood. she was the last one born after aphrodite, damon, and riley, and was always treated like the baby of the four of them, although that was probably because she was born a few years after the other three had been. the young firetamer used to sit around and watch her sister and eldest brother mess around with each other all the time with pranks and other nonsense. it amused her to no end to watch the things they came up with although she was thankful to her parents when they told damon he wasn't allowed to pick on her or riley. rowan would secretly sometimes come up with things to prank damon with, but since he never targeted, she never had the excuse for retaliation.

but as she went through her childhood years, rowan was put into a school with normal humans was told to merely blend in with them, to not bring attention to herself. because that would be very bad for the family, her mother would say. and so rowan followed her orders and kept to herself. but there was one time in the sixth grade that she had a stupid little crush on a human boy in her class. it didn't end well however, when he made fun of her while she was giving a speech to the class on a book she'd read. rowan had gone home and told her parents and was scolded for believing a human could return her feelings.

time went on, again. rowan began to notice how outsiders kept attacking her family with the intent to kill all of them. the thought scared her, but she had her older brothers who swore to always protect her from them. when rowan finally hit puberty, she discovered her own power to manipulate fire (which relieved her greatly as she'd heard that sometimes firetamer families would have children who were born with no powers as normal humans and was scared that her family would shun her). but alas, she had damon and riley help her out with controlling the fire for a while before she got the hang of it. it was around this time that she started hanging out with her cousin fletcher.

most recently, rowan came home from school one day and was informed by her parents that riley had been killed. completely shocked, she started having suspicions that it was a hunter who had killed her brother. however, she has yet to find anything out about it from her family..
