Most people would describe her as that typical scene girl who doesn't care about anything. She hates when people try to put their opinion in somewhere where it isn't needed, and reacts to those people with an attitude. However, those who are friends with her know that she's one of the sweetest people they've ever met. She loves helping people and enjoys when she finds unique people. She has a habit of wearing her giant reading glasses whenever she does anything school related. She can't seem to sit still because she's under the impression that something fun and exciting is just around the corner.

basically, she was born as the second child to randolph and harriet astor. her family was considered the fourth in line down the astor family tree. she has a brother who's two years older than her, and one who's four years younger. she had a pretty decent childhood, as she wasn't too involved with the family dealings until she was a little older. it didn't take long before her current personality started coming through.

around middle school was when she started dying her hair all different kinds of colors from blue to pink to red and back again, but finally she rested on black. the girl had quite a few quirky habits that kids at her school picked up on real quick. the girl was made fun of on a daily basis, but she learned to eventually stop listening to them -- once you stop giving them attention, they realize that you stopped caring. that's how bullies work -- if they don't get attention, they move onto something else. it didn't take long before katarina wanted to start making a statement, and so she started dressing like all the gothic and emo kids at her school. she hung out with them the most, even if they didn't always share the same life views. she always thought that those kids understood her the best. so when one of the kids in her group committed suicide, she was really crushed.

when she got to high school, she was given marijuana for the first time. she knew her parents didn't like such substance to be used in the family -- especially since it was a human who gave it to her -- so she smoked it just to spite her family and came home incredibly high. she was grounded, but she snuck out the window of her bedroom every night to go sleep over at her friend's house. after that, she started doing things against her family -- she even told her parents that she was taking the light side of the war, namely because she knew most of the astors were routing for the dark. she even started calling herself 'eva' (from her middle name) because her parents named her katarina. she was dubbed 'the rebel' by the rest of her family for this very reason.

it didn't take long before she heard that there were members in her family that were 'disowned'. after doing some research - which considered of her asking for their names - she discovered that she had a cousin who was the same age as her. she's still trying to find where the guy lives today. she doesn't really have any leads, so she's trying to figure out how to contact them. again, she does this because they were disowned from the family and she wants to go out of her way to meet them.

she got accepted into north east university in manuka, and is currently enrolled there, majoring in art. she knows that a degree in art isn't really going to get her too far in her life, but hey, it's exactly what her family told her to not to major in. besides, she hates every other subject. might as well do what she loves to do.
