grayson's friends tend to have mixed feelings about him. some would say that he's full of himself and acts kind of like a jerk sometimes but others would say he's kind-hearted and cares about those he's really close to. and since callum seems to be the only current person occupying that category, his friends only see him as the 'protective brother' whenever cal is around. otherwise it's open game. he loves partying, so he's the type that can walk up to total strangers and have a conversation because he isn't at all shy. his outward personality seems to suggest that he loves himself; however, in his own mind he seems to think that he isn't worth anything because he couldn't save his brother the night cal was turned.

there aren't many people who have seen grayson at his worst, but those who have would say he goes through an entire transformation into someone else. basically, he's one of those dudes who likes to look tough in front of his friends even though he really isn't THAT big of a hardass. he carries himself well.

some of this was stated in jurate's app, so in places i won't get too specific.

the two were born premature, and this caused some complications with grayson's twin. however, as the two progressed into childhood, grayson remained unaware of the fact that his brother was really that different. he was actually under the impression for the longest time that his twin just didn't like to pay that great attention. after a while though, he finally caught on when his parents explained to him why callum always wore the weird devices on his ears. it was around this time that grayson would start to become the 'protective brother'. he managed to talk their older brother micah into learning sign language with him so that they could communicate with callum easier. eventually, he got pretty good at it.

however, when the two started kindergarten, grayson started to become a little jealous that his almost-deaf brother got more attention that he did. it was during this time that he would start to cause trouble at school, doing the one thing possible he knew he could do to bring the attention back at himself. but when he was scolded by his parents, the behavior was quickly modified. once the school year started, the jealousy grayson felt toward his brother started dissipating when he saw that the other kids tended to speak to him in ways cal didn't deserve. but, as it happened, cal finally made a friend, one he would enjoy the presence of for many years. it was around this time that franky became a big part of the twins' lives.

grayson naturally had a lot of friends anyway, due to his problem with needing to be the center of attention. it was only ever with cal that grayson learned how to share the spotlight. later on in middle school, during the times where grayson would hang out with his friends from school, he tried his best to include his twin. however, some of grayson's friends didn't enjoy spending time with cal because they thought he was weird. grayson quickly let everyone in his group of friends know that anyone who had something to say about his brother would get the shit beaten out of them. and he kept his end of the deal, too. in middle school, there were often times where he'd get sent to detention for punching a kid, but it wasn't enough that he was known as the 'problem child' in their class.

high school was different. during their freshmen year, grayson would become the 'cool kid', the one who everyone wanted to be friends with. he had a large group of said 'friends' but no one he was close enough to that he would tell his secrets to. it didn't take long before high school started treating cal like shit. grayson would be pissed whenever he saw cal cry, and he vowed to always be by his brother's side. but once they turned seventeen, their parents gave them the news that they were leaving for some city called manuka. after laughing over the name, it finally settled in his mind that they were leaving britain.

after the move, things still didn't change, but grayson picked up almost where he left off back home. he immediately made friends and tried to include his brother as well. however, to his dismay, he could see that the people in this city were still assholes to his twin. and so one night, he tried to convince cal to come with him to a party in the woods. one of his new friends was hosting it and he thought it would be a good thing for cal so that he could maybe make some friends.

after a long talk, he dragged cal with him to the party. and that's when shit went down. they all heard the growling at first and just thought it was a joke. when it continued again, grayson and everyone else there panicked, not knowing who or what was making the sound. as grayson picked through the crowd trying to find his brother, he manged to witness the whole scene.

things were different after that. grayson didn't know what to believe anymore. his twin's wound healed in an amount of time that was completely unheard of. he was scared for his brother, really, and he didn't know quite what to do with himself. his brother was quickly released and everything seemed fine after that. well, at least for the next month. what happened then was startling, even more so than the night of the party.

callum had been acting different that day, and grayson had been worried. micah had threatened to call their parents, who weren't home at the time, but callum refused to let him to do it. he'd escaped outside and for a minute, the two brothers didn't know what to do. grayson finally followed him outside, micah behind him. and there, right in their yard, the two brothers watched their brother's body mutate into something....else. grayson had fallen to the ground in fear, his mind completely void of any comprehensible thought. was his brother a...werewolf?

it was strange then, because callum came home a short while later as if nothing had changed. he'd shown up to the house naked, and grayson had to wonder what the hell had happened. he didn't speak to callum for a good twenty-four hours, wondering what the hell was going on. he spoke to micah a few days later, but he didn't seem to have a clue either.

after tracing back the events, it dawned on grayson a little while later that the wolf that had attacked cal was probably the thing responsible for his twin's transformations. grayson linked that to the party, which in his mind turned into 'it's all my fault', since he was the one who had dragged cal to the party in the first place. to this day, grayson still feels a strong sense of guilt and regret for making his brother come with him. he fears the wolf version of his brother, but he doesn't have the courage to tell him that.
