Oh it's so hard to let go. Oh but someday you'll just know. I say let your heart be free and stop playing hide and seek. Such a scary world that we live in. Waiting for someone who just gets it. Someone who believes in eternity. Stormy nights and black covered skies just leave me be and let me live my life. All you've done is rain on my parade. In life there are surprises but we need ot learn not to fight them [style=height:215px; padding-right:8px; overflow:auto;]For a woman that for some reason liked to be a danger magnet, she liked to go out walking by herself quite a bit. It wasn’t as if she liked the actual danger to come, but as often as it did, one would think that would be the case. Cierra went out walking to try to relieve her mind. She might have asked Cason to come with her, but that, of course, was the exact person she was trying to calm down about. The newest love of her life was truly fun and exciting, leaving her all kinds of feels bubbling around in her stomach, but at the moment, he was hunting. That always made her nervous. Especially thinking about who he was hunting. The shapeshifter decided to really fall for the hunter. As far as he was concerned, she was an oblivious human. Although she was what she was, she felt herself more scared for what might be attacking him.
This place had always been peaceful to her. She felt as if she hadn’t spent a lot of time in the upper state as she used to considering she was trying to spend less of her family’s money. It would make her more independent and perhaps get to a point where she could sustain her own life. She was twenty-six for goodness sake! It was just always the problem of independency frightening her and not having the courage to tell her household any different. Someday, Cierra was going to have to grow up, and she was having a hard time really grasping that idea. The prospect of it. There were those few in her life that decided not to leave that would take care of the girl. It was just telling her family… Cierra shivered thinking about it. Among her many problems, she supposed. She trusted too easily, she was too much of a people pleaser, and her backbone was non-existent. Could anyone blame her?
The brown haired woman wasn’t quite at the fountain, but it was just behind her. She was too busy laying down on the grass, staring up, taking in the scents. One of the greatest things about being a dog shifter was the sense of smell. She could smell everything. Even determine who someone was. Of course, she had to know them very well to get use to the specific scent, but it was something that saved her many times. Her hands were around some of her long wavy hair, knowing she should have brought her new kindle or something. Or a book. Cierra wasn’t exactly called a ‘bookworm’ but it wasn’t as if she didn’t read at all. In fact, she loved it, but it always took her forever to find the correct one. Closing her eyes, she started listening to the sounds. That always calmed her down. As she took a deep breath, she froze, hearing that she was indeed, not alone. She held that giant breath until she felt herself starting to turn purple. Letting it out, she rolled over low to the ground, not being able to see anyone in sight, but she knew she heard something.
Instincts were there, but they in no way came naturally to her. Her long hair covered some of her face as she tried to flip it back without looking like she had a nervous twitch. She made large eyes as she cautiously stood up. Come on, this person couldn’t have been hiding. She bit her knuckle before deciding she was going to go over to the fountain for a better view. Perhaps if this had been in the middle of the night, she would hightail her happy little self home. Since it was in the middle of the day where the sun was shinning brightly, she couldn’t exactly say that it had the same tension. It was probably her hearing things. She sat not on the edge of the fountain, but on the ground, resting her head on the edge. Another sigh came out of her as she just listened to the sound the breeze made when it went through the few cracks of the fountain before she heard the noise again, whipping around this time. ”Come on stranger, I’m friendly.” She said out loud, trying to sound reassuring. Truthfully, Cierra was a friendly sweetheart. Many thought she was shy, but honestly- the biggest trick sometimes was getting the woman to shut up.

cause i'm one step closer to the edge and i'm about to break There was something about running water that calmed the hybrid's nerves greatly, far surpassing the effects of any known antidepressant. It was as though the endless stream of liquid that poured forth from the fountain and the sound of it splashing into the little pool below was her fears and worries, being washed away. If she could channel every single emotion she had into the water, she would have. Where did the water go when they flowed into the pond? Wouldn't the pond overflow eventually? That was what made things so exciting, it never did, they just vanished. There was indeed a proper explanation for where did the damn water would go to eventually, but Hoshi was too busy with her own scattered thoughts to think logically.
Perched at the very edge of the fountain in a precarious position, the little woman poked a finger into the water, swirling it gently. The stilness and quietness of the gardens invoked an odd sense of peace within her, something she hadn't exactly felt ever since she left the shores of Japan. And just for once, the voices in her head were silent, but the feeling that something was eventually going to pop up and get her kept lingering around. Deciding not to linger around the fountain any longer. Hoshi got up and wandered over to the bushes, thinking of settling down for a nap.
It was amazing at how difficult it was to find a proper fucking bush to lay down in. Fussiness was one of her fortes, and even picking the right foliage to lay down in was a pain. She began creating a soft racket of popping into every green bush, snapping a few branches along the way to see whether her Shiba Inu form would be able to slip through and be comfortable enough throughout the day. It reminded her of those dark days, when she had ran nonstop looking for shelter, and although she felt that her chances had been slim, she did find one eventually. Who said that it wouldn't be the same for this one?
It was difficult keeping an optimistic mind, but she was trying.
Her ears perked up at a voice calling out. Hoshi peeked through the bushes to look at the fountain, and soon saw another person, a brunette, sitting down on the ground, only a few inches from her previous spot. Brown eyes becoming as wide as dinner plates, she debated herself on whether she should reveal herself. A branch cracked underneath her boots, loudly this time, and she cringed, cursing herself in Japanese. Reluctantly, the girl poked her face out from the foliage, gazing suspiciously at the pretty brunette at the fountain.
"Friendly?" she echoed. "That's what they always say....that's what the voices always say..." Stepping out from the bushes, she awkwardly brushed herself down, removing the stray plants and leaves that had taken the opportunity to cling on to her coat. She blinked, suddenly wondering what the hell she just said before shaking her head vigorously, like any bird would when under stress.
"...Who are you?"
The question was blunt and direct, perhaps even on the borderline of sounding rude, but in truth, Hoshi was taking no chances. It didn't help that she was socially inept as well, having secluded herself for a few hundred years from civilization. The present world was still new to her, and it was best to approach it with caution.

In life there are surprises but we need ot learn not to fight them [style=height:215px; padding-right:8px; overflow:auto;]If Cierra would have placed money on that, she wouldn’t have bet who actually appeared appearing in front of her. The shapeshifter was extremely paranoid (probably even more so since the radical attacks). She had been half expecting an extremely large man with a look that meant trouble. Perhaps he would have a devilish smirk on his face, or perhaps it would be cruel. The mark on her back was forever going to be there to remind her what happened when she decided to go and run in the middle of the night. The cry of the fake child had been the perfect little scandal. She should have known things didn’t happen that easily. She didn’t like to tell Cason this, but she still had nightmares of that event. Really, she was the one that made it out alright. One of the faerie’s had died and the guardian angel had a broken wing. She was sure it was fixable, but he hoped that his charge was okay. If Cas wouldn’t have found her, she was sure she would be dead.
Cierra had tried to act calm so perhaps the attacker might not have done anything. However, much to her relief, she found a girl staring at her. Cierra wasn’t good with ages, but the only thing she could guess was young. Which wasn’t even accurate considering Manuka was covered in supernatural that were over thousands of years old. To think that some were walking around town when those people had been a part of the Roman times. It was incredible. Yet, she was use to it. Her giant family had proved itself to be highly looked at, and she was highly aware of most of the supernaturals and it’s abilities. Cierra wasn’t very loud about it, but she wanted to point out to her family that if the humans were ever to fall, they would probably be next on the food chain. Part animal and part human. It was as if they had ben grouped. But nothing except for argumentative behavior would come out of it, so she kept this to herself.
Though she looked harmless, her words made Cierra a little more cautious about her. Still, she seemed nice enough. Cierra sat up a little bit to see the stranger. It did make her feel a little better that she could become face-to-face with the person who had been stalking among the camouflage. She would rather have that. She thought. If it would have been what she was fearing, she might have thought he would have been better hidden. There was something about the unknown though. But for knowing for sure could be a good or bad thing. The brunette blinked, and wasn’t sure if she should have stood up. Cierra doubted just about every move she made- her just being nervous. Now that she was known in her presence, perhaps she should get out of this woman’s way. Find some other place to go. There were plenty of places in Manuka, Maine. It wasn’t a limited place. She repeated these things in her head, but made no motive to move. As if she were trying to tell her feet the reason to keep on walking past and duck her head. However, it ended up being a little different.
The blunt words may not have been bluntly written, but the way she said it was enough to make Cierra stop for a moment, trying to comprehend what was being said. Someone wanted to talk to her. Her heart pumped. Had to remind herself that this could have been anyone, but her very easy trusting nature made it a little harder for her to differ between any of that. ”I’m Cierra.” A little hesitant to give her last name. Those that didn’t know it seemed it as a harmless name. Those that did know it probably knew it for all the wrong reasons. She wasn’t exactly the golden child there and they weren’t exactly… the kindest of the supernatural. Despite their small title as shapeshifters. ”And who are you?” Cierra was not forgetting any of the ‘voices’. There was a chance she was insane, but there could have been something else going on. Even if it was insanity, Cierra was the last person to judge and one of the most patient of people. She would have made the greatest doctor, but the woman was way too emotional and would probably cry with every story she heard. Not to mention she looked at the sight of any insides and wanted to scream. Strong stomach was not the way to go.
It was also a rude question to ask. ‘Oh hello. When you meant voices, did you mean in your head?’ But she did want to know. So that she was able to know exactly what she was dealing with instead of this little gamble game she played in her head. Cierra bit her bottom lip and told her kindly, ”I didn’t know anyone else was here, I apologize.” It was her small way of wondering if she really was the only person. Cierra took a deep breath, but could only smell plants the presence of one being. Not something that was familiar, so she defiantly didn’t know her. She wasn’t one of those talented ones that could figure out the species by scent, but this was pretty good, wasn’t it? She finally took a step, but she stepped back and sat on the fountain instead. Cierra was trying to be stronger and had to remind herself she shouldn’t leave because someone else was here. Not to say that if she was asked to leave, she wouldn’t, but it was nice to think that way.

cause i'm one step closer to the edge and i'm about to break
If there was anything one shouldn't do, it was to put two paranoid people in the same room. While this situation by all means was no room in general, the little waterfall was already enough. As Hoshi continue to gaze at the other girl, black eyes narrowed, it was unknown to her that both of their thoughts were running the same train track. While Cierra was expecting a scary, nasty arse to pop out, Hoshi was pretty much freaked out of anything that would pose a threat, but instead of running, she would cut that bitch who spooked her down. It was her way of dealing with things these days, there was only so much running one could do in this lifetime. No was going to protect her, and she did not have anyone to turn to for security. Everything rested atop her frail shoulders, and it was her duty to hold it up. Should she fail, well, she didn't want to think of what would happen when her defenses slipped. If it ever did.
There was a strange scent in the air, and curious, the hybrid sniffed. Fear? Hoshi took a moment to read the other woman's thoughts. Her telepathy skills were not as strong as a normal immortal's, but they were sufficient enough. This shifter was afraid of her? Paranoid? Cautious? It sounded like Hoshi herself. The notion was hilarious to such a point that the Japanese girl nearly roared with laughter, but her suppressed emotions kept her from actively doing so. Instead, her lips twitched with the hint of an amused smile, and her frown vanished. The shifter brunette was completely harmless. Relaxing her stance, Hoshi brought her arms to her sides and blinked. She had not met anyone who would pose her no harm, but this woman here was bringing all the medals home. It puzzled Hoshi, because the voices in her head were always shouting that the whole world was out to get her. It had always seemed that way until now. This strange woman was peculiar.
"Hoshi," was her simple, curt reply. Now knowing that the other female wasn't out to get her (she wondered why she hadn't done this sooner) the Shiba Inu sauntered forward almost lazily, making her way across the compound and towards Cierra. Her nose twitched, and her eyebrows rose at the faint scent of dog, a husky to be more exact. Dogs were supposed to be brave creatures apparently, but the two of them did not seem to have the desired traits. What with Hoshi's own paranoia and all.
'It's okay." she shrugged, taking a seat on the fountain's edge as well, next to Cierra. "Stay. You don't have to leave on my account." There didn't seem to be any need for the husky to leave now. Though Hoshi wouldn't mind chasing her off just to quell her own caution and paranoia, there was no point in doing so. It wasn't her place to do so anyway, the fountain belonged to the public.Even if it belonged to her, she still wouldn't chase Cierra out. Nothing good would come out of it, and she did not have anything to lose. It was best to keep things this way for now. Glancing at the cautious brunette beside her, Hoshi spoke bluntly again. Politeness and formality were not an option, and small talk was completely non-existent. Unless she was speaking Japanese, which was en entirely different matter altogether. "You're a shifter aren't you? I can practically smell the dog wafting off you."

In life there are surprises but we need ot learn not to fight them [style=height:215px; padding-right:8px; overflow:auto;]The girl that was looking at her was giving her a rather hard stare. Although it wasn’t really what she was expecting, there was no telling if this stranger was dangerous or not. Cierra knew a couple of hunters. Beautiful. Thin. Almost fragile looking. But she would never want them hunting her. Even if she had the makings of being a very hardcore shapeshifter, she still probably wouldn’t survive. Those girls brought down monsters much more frightening than herself. They brought down werewolves, vampires, immortals, and angels. Angels for goodness sake. But the majority of the people in Manuka (even if not by much) was of the human species so she automatically assumed most people she met were human. Cierra could only stare back at her though. Her nose worked pretty well and could tell when someone was around, but that was about it. Detecting species hadn’t been her specialty. If she hung around with someone long enough, she was able to recognize their scent. That was about it. She didn’t need her nose to tell her she had never met the woman in front of her.
Suddenly, there was a small break in the stranger’s face so that it wasn’t staring directly at her with dark eyes. Was it a smile? Cierra couldn’t really tell from where she was standing but it appeared almost like a crooked smile. In that small little gesture of change of facial expression, Cierra relaxed her shoulders. The girl was less tense even if she was still debating on how to reach out of this. This was not the stranger’s fault. Oh no. Cierra knew it was just her. It was always her fault. She didn’t mean to take so much blame on herself but most of her life, she had grew up with it always being her fault. Didn’t matter how the mind worked. For her, if someone told her something long enough, she just started to believe it. An insecure trait of being gullible and naïve. A couple of traits that were about the death of her during the radical attack. Cierra had to remind herself not to trust so much but she couldn’t help it. Even something as simple as a smile made her mind ease about the stranger.
Even if the look was more friendly, the greeting wasn’t as much. Not… bad, but very short. It actually sounded for a moment that she sneezed while she said her name, but with a little bit of embarrassment written across her face, Cierra noticed she didn’t correct herself. Hopefully she wasn’t dealing with an immortal. That would just be her luck. Still, her votes set on human at the moment. Cierra liked to think she was surrounded by a species that was not as dark as the rest. Though she didn’t believe that good and evil were split into species. Look at her. Look at how some hunters were just… ruthless. No reason for it except to kill. The members of the plague. The ones that attacked her. It was hard to judge anything based off of those events.
Events seemed to point toward the brighter side. Hoshi approaching Cierra like she was wanted to make the shapeshifter back up from that. However, she kept her legs in the same spot, not moving, but keeping a close eye on all of this. There was nothing in her hands that was threatening. Cierra needed to calm down, but her heart was still racing like a mad person. She was sure that Hoshi was going to be able to hear it. She probably heard it from her original spot across the way. The only thing that would be covering it would be the rushing sound of the water fountain they were sitting again. Cierra had sat there so long and never fallen in, but at the moment, her head was so dizzy she felt like her entire force would bring her backwards. At her words though, Cierra felt even better. She tried to keep a guard up, but her mind was starting to ease her out of it. It was okay. She didn’t mean harm. It was okay. ”Oh- I didn’t know if you were meeting anyone here or not. I also don’t want you to want to pick a different spot because I’m here.” She rambled rather fast as her nervous habits would inquire. Plus, Cierra felt like she talked a lot.
Oh well- there went that theory. She was not human. In fact, she said smell, which was lead to believe something else. A werewolf, perhaps? It was a wolf or a shapeshifter because although vampires had a scent, that had everything to do with the type of blood. Cierra stopped for a moment, taking a deep breath to see if she could tell. Nope, she couldn’t. A little surprised, she made a small smile, ”Um… y-yes, actually. A red husky.” even though she felt like her tail was tucked between her legs at the moment, ”Smelling makes you… a shifter or a wolf.” Were just seemed too mean of a name, so she just stuck with the wolf part of it. She didn’t really fit the category of werewolf though with the full moon being so close, the girl should have been tense. More tense than before. Cierra had once dealt with a werewolf near the full moon. Another thing she was going to remain cautious never to do again.
