The Adoption

Dear Mary and Alexander,
We’re so sorry we could no be there to see you bring home little Thomas from China. From the pictures that Abby got over her computer, I was actually surprised to see just how tiny the boy is. He’ll grow soon enough, they always do. I just hope that Emilie, Tobias and Lana are good to him. A six year old, nine year old and a twelve year old and a new baby, needless to say I don’t envy you. This letter will have to be a little bit short, but never the less we’ll be home soon and Abby and I are excited to see the newest member of the Devlin family.
Love Your Brother Richard. The Early Years

“Are babies always so gross?” Tobias wrinkled his nose as the freshly bathed Thomas. “He’s two, when will be start acting… normal?” His sister at the table rolled her eyes. “He is being normal, you’re being more of a baby than him.” Tobias huffed and went over to pull his sister’s braids. “Am not! You take that back!” Their mother went over to settle both children down while little Thomas went over to his older brother and crawled into his lap, the oldest child Emilie set the baby on his lap and bounced his knees up, causing little Thomas to giggle in delight. “Toby will always be a bigger baby than you Tommy.” He said with a nod.

“Lana and Eliza! Why are you dressing that poor boy like a doll?” Lana’s mother said as she passed her daughter’s room, peeking in only for a moment to see her youngest son dressed like a baby doll and seemingly alright with it. “Because Aunt Mary, Tommy likes it!” Eliza grinned. “I like it Mommy.” Tommy exclaimed with a large smile on his face. His mother just sighed and waved her hand. “Dressing up a little boy like a little girl, you girls are silly.” She said to Lana and Eliza and walked away.

Thomas awkwardly shifted on the floor and stared at the toy trucks in front of him with disinterest. It was just he and his mother tonight, the boy was curious where his father and siblings had gone too. “Mom, where is everyone?” Thomas had never asked before since Lana was normally home with them while Tobias and Emilie went out with their father. Mary sighed softly and sat down beside the boy. “No use hiding it from you now, since it’s just the two of us. Our family… we’re a family of hunters.” She began. “Hunters? Like deer and stuff?” The boy questioned only to receive a headshake by his mother. “Bad things, sweetie. Monsters.” She didn’t enjoy being so blunt with such a sweet little boy, but she had too. “Monsters? They’re actually real? Emilie said the monster in my closet wasn’t there…” He countered. The boy’s mother just shook her head and explained what monsters did lurk in the dark, as well as their family being a powerful hunter family. The boy wasn’t stupid and knew he was brought into his family, but he still felt out of place. “Is that why I feel so… out of place?” He asked, only to get a questioning look from his mother.
13 years old
“You want to what, Tommy?” Her mother began. “Liliana. I wanted to be called that, I’m not a boy, well on the outside maybe, but on the inside I’m a girl like Lana.” All eyes where on the boy in the pretty white dress. Thomas felt better this way, but no one else seemed to understand. Thomas didn’t feel like a boy, though he had the outer body of one, on the inside was a girl. “So you’re a faggot?” Tobias said only to get a smack by their mother. The youngest child shrugged. “One day I will be a girl inside and out. I’ve decided this. I’ve never… been happy with myself until now. I’ve always felt trapped inside my body, but now I feel better! Like… I’m almost completely free of this cage.” The youngest didn’t know if his family would understand, but they all exchanged looks and nodded. All but Tobias anyway, who looked at the younger sibling with mild disgust and confusion. “We’ll help you Tho- Liliana.” Said the father.

Lily hummed softly as she walked with her mother down the farmers market; it was the end of summer so fruits and vegetables would soon go up in price. Lily walked away from her mother for just a moment and peered at a small stand beside the market. Laid out before her were crystals of all different colors and an old woman who at first glance smirked at Lily. “These are so pretty.” Said the girl. “You like them? I suppose you feel their power.” The elderly woman said as she offered a blue crystal necklace to the girl. Lily frowned at her. “I-I don’t know what you mean.” She took the necklace into her hands and smiled at how it looked in the sunlight. “You aren’t aware of the magic within you? Ah, I suppose your family has kept it from you.” The older woman shifted and pulled out a large leather book and offered it to the girl. “Take this and keep the necklace. They both will serve you well young witch.” Lily was about to give them back when her mother called out to her, in the confusion she simply stuffed the book and necklace into her bag and followed after her mother, looked back at the violet eyed woman who simply smiled and waved goodbye to the pale lavender eyed young witch.
The True Lily
[/u][/center]Lily is a very caring and loving person. No matter what she always searches for the good intentions of everyone, she believes everyone is good, and that people just do stupid things that sometimes can be over looked. Even when people talk down to her for being who she is, she will never say a bad word about them or two them, it’s just not something she likes. Lily doesn’t like the idea of killing, which is why she’s nervous about starting her training as a hunter (despite the fact that she’s a witch), she never brings it up though and hopes her family is just to busy one day to actually notice she hasn’t learned much. Lily is good at cooking as well as math and science, however she is not good at anything physical and dislikes running track or anything that involves heavy movement. She also can sometimes be a bit of a floor mat, she does let people walk all over her. Her voice can be very soft, and she needs to learn how to project what she wants or her own opinion.
