THE MOVE TO JCINK

Hello lovely people! The time has come to make our move over to jcink, but before you rush to make your accounts, let me explain how this is going to work. Nightmare 1.0 (proboards) will be open for one week (until Oct 10) to collect your apps and posts and things. Now, this does not mean the site will be deleted, it just means that if you have not made your accounts by that time, we will assume you’re not returning and plots and finals will be free to move on without you. Emails will be sent out to make people aware of this, and the chat box on Nightmare 1.0 will not be there any more. You’ll be able to access threads, posts and apps all the way into V5 and onward, so don’t worry about losing posts or applications.

Alright, so. When making your accounts sign up as FIRST MIDDLE LAST name of your character in all capitals, you’ll need this to log on every time. Then, find the application type which you’ve used originally, and transfer the text onto the application on Nightmare 2.0 (the jcink site). Then, you post it in the pending board. Make sure you follow the format shown on the apps, by posting the apps as LAST, FIRST MIDDLE. And age in numbers | species | play-by for the second line. You do not have to provide and RP sample unless it was in your application, so of your first made character, do also copy the sample. The staff will get to sorting out the applications ASAP but there will be a lot, and it may take some time, so don’t post in any boards until you’ve been sorted. Within dohtml, you have to use either <p> or <br><br> to separate paragraphs, otherwise they are massive long chunks of text, so please make sure that when using any template you add in these tags. If you need help with this also, a member of staff will help you out!

For the profile, the ‘avatar’ size is 275x400 and the gif size is 220x120 (if larger will scale to size). To edit these, you need to go to ‘MY CONTROLS’ at the top, and then choose, on the side either, ‘EDIT AVATAR SETTINGS’ or ‘EDIT PROFILE INFO’ etc to fill in all of these fields. If you have trouble with this, let a member of staff know and they will help you out. You don’t have to do these right away, but please fill them in after you’ve posted your application. Especially the text fields, if you don’t have a gif or avatar.

For moving threads, I think that the best solution would be that whoever posted in a thread last, they post their most recent post in the boards for the other person to reply to. This means that if I posted, say with Ashton last in the thread with Elliot, I would post his last reply as a starter post ready for Kai to reply. Some of you may have to do this more than others, and if you want to work out another way with your RP partners go ahead, but this will be the default option of moving threads.

In all this moving stress, I would also like to mention the change in the staff team. Ally, Faded and Kel are no longer with the staff team, but we have the wonderful Smash to help out as a moderator, and I’m sure she’ll do an amazing job, whereas CJ is a fellow administrator rather than moderator with me. If we need more staff down the road, we’ll ask someone, but for now this is the staff team.
